River Run Cottage truly offers the serenity of country living along with easy accessibility to downtown Leavenworth and the many activites Leavenworth has to offer.
Watch the River Riders load and head down river from your comfortable covered deck. It's a bird-lovers paradise, year-round, with frequent sittings of bald eagle, osprey, and Canadian geese. We've even had a wayward swan visit us! Often snowy winters bring in playful otters across the river from the Cottage.
You have access to a small, sandy beach and for cooler evenings, a fire pit on the front 1/2 acre or a gas grill on the deck. Salmon and steelhead are in the river and fishing is permitted when season is open.
Although in a private setting, the Cottage is only two miles from the Bavarian Village, close to the festivals, fine restaurants, out-of-this-world shopping and live theater, Other nearby activities include river rafting, hiking, cross-country skiing, golfing, parks and scenic drives.
WE OFFER COMPLIMENTARY CONCIERGE assistance for our guests through Leavenworth Concierge. This includes activity bookings, dining reservations, spa reservations and more. You can be on autopilot while visiting without the hassle of arranging your own activities. Information about these services will be in your welcome letter and in the Cottage on your arrival. Limited or no driving? You can shuttle to and from town with Leavenworth Shuttle & Taxi. No more parking difficulties!
The Cottage is small, with one bedroom, comfortable Queen bed and dresser and a kitchen, living room and bathroom. The kitchen has a range, double sink, apartment-sized refrigerator, microwave and --- no dishwasher. You'll find just about everything you'd need in a kitchen, including coffee pot (and coffee), blender, toaster, flatware, dishes, pots and pans and a pizza cutter for the pizza you might have delivered to your door.
The living room has a newer (not huge) flatscreen TV, DVD player, very comfortable and updated furniture (loveseat and recliner), a small 'take-home' library of paperbacks, several DVD's and a cassette tape player and cassette tapes! Yes, there's a CD player also.
You'll find ample covered parking in the attached carport plus some extra storage space for bikes or other equipment in the attached garage, plus there's a washer and dryer in the laundry, also in the garage.
Our guests are very important to us. We like to greet you on your arrival - and then give you complete privacy for the rest of your stay, although we are always available either in person (we live next door to the Cottage) or by telephone to answer questions or problem solve.
One night rentals are allowed EXCEPT on Friday or Saturday night. Weekend rentals require a two-night minimum.

About the owner: Chuck was born and raised in the Leavenworth area. Ann grew up in Puget Sound (Anacortes/Seattle) and loves both the east and west sides. For most of our married life (married 1967) except for a short stint in Southern Oregon, Leavenworth has been home. Both of us graduated from U.W. Seattle, Chuck in Forest Management and Ann as an R.N. We live in the house we built in 1974, on the river, neighbors to The Cottage. The Cottage was completed in 2000.
We have three adult children, all married with their own families and 12 grandchildren. None of the children live in Leavenworth, but all live close and hardly a week passes that we don't see the 'grands'. As much as the adults love Leavenworth, the kids love it more. They play in and around the river and on the property in summer, sled in winter, the oldest ones are beginning to cross-country ski. They know all the festivals and LOVE the ice cream at Lak's Gallery in town. I'm known as 'Grandma River'.
We love our life! We're surrounded by family and friends, orchards, hills and the ever-changing river. Aong with our Cottage guests we love the seasonal changes along with river; wildlife, fishing for salmon and steelhead and sitting on the beach in the summer.
Close proximity to town is great, with Safeway a mile away, Blackbird Island 2 miles, our church 3 miles. We could almost walk! We, along with the tourists, attend festivals, especially Christmas Lighting, MayFest and SALMON FEST and Summer Theater. We especially enjoy taking drives and discovering new roads in the hills, new houses and new businesses in town.
