The Salsa Casita is so named for the vibrant paint colors used
throughout this luxurious Condo. We tried to make it fun because that is what we always have when we
visit our home away from home.

Tiled throughout in September 2011, this two bedroom, two bathroom condo on Ash Street has 2 queen beds with down/feather comforters. We have a blow up mattress for a single. Inside a 37 inch Plasma flat screen TV and a second small TV in one bedroom, a computer,
printer, fax copier, DVD player and a
completely furnished kitchen can help you pass the time! The unit has
Italian leather seating and is bright
and inviting. The outdoor patio has a teak table and chairs for al
fresco dining.
There is a pool, hot tub and barbeque grills with tables on the
eighth floor and the City, SD Bay
and fireworks from Sea World are visible each night from this
observation area. The property also has a
gym.
The location is a 5 minute cab ride from the San Diego Airport. No
car is necessary but the valet
can park your vehicle in a secure garage and you are free to enjoy
your stay on foot or using the
many kinds of public transportation available in San Diego County.
The Gaslamp district is only a
ten minute stroll. The San Diego Bay with harbor cruises, bayside
walks and parks are yours only 4.5
blocks to the west. The historic Union Train Station is on Kettner
just 2.5 blocks from the front
gate; trains arrive and depart from and to Mexico to the South and
destinations to the North all
along the Pacific Coast via the San Diego Trolley, Coaster and
Amtrak. You are within walking
distance to dozens of Italian, Seafood and Steak restaurants, clubs,
museums and theaters.

Why the Owner Chose Little Italy
We live 6 hours from San Diego and wanted a place to cool off when the desert gets too hot. We love the water and the breezes.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Everything is available by walk or public transportation. We park the car in the garage and love the freedom that brings us. We have easy care tile throughout and a mini office when we need to bring our work with us. First thing when we get to town is a walk to the Bay to see the boats, cruise ships and sea gulls.

We've never used VRBO for our vacation until we visited Karen & Russ' place. It was awesome. The location was very convenient, the condo was spotless, and VERY organized. We had a splendid time and Karen is a great host, even though we never actually met. It was our home away from home and is a totally different experience than a hotel. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics to cook with, there's tea and coffee. It was just wonderful. Thanks Karen & Russ!

Good Morning Karen & Russ, We left our temporary San Diego home yesterday at 10:00 AM. We had a wonderful time. My daughter and I cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in your cozy condo. Took a long walk to the wharf while the bird was in the oven and ate al fresco on the patio. If people take the time to read your well organized package, it will make their stay that much more enjoyable. I can't think of anything you left out. It was everything you advertized and more. Your mini office setup made it so easy to take care of a couple of business matters I couldn't leave behing. It allowed me to really enjoy our stay in San Diego. We will definitely keep your place in mind for futute trips, Happy Holidays, Claude and Donna

"Perfect place, ideal for downtown" "I can't say how much I enjoyed our stay at this condo. The place is exactly as described on the web site and has everything you need but never usually have in a vacation rental. This means that you can actually cook things without having to buy all the ingredients, like full bottles of oil or jars of spices, and you can do your laundry without buying a full box of detergent. The furnishings are lovely, the beds are super comfy and there's some books and DVDs if you fancy a quiet night in or run out of things to read. The condo is really handy for downtown and the trolley (and Amtrak at the Santa Fe depot) but is on a quiet street so there's no problem with noise. Extraordinary Desserts is round the corner, as is Little Italy, so there's always food available with only a very short walk. All in all I really loved it and would happily stay again."

Karen and Russ, your condo is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in through VRBO. It is bright, cosy, and so well equipped - even down to free phone calls, DSL internet access, a library and DVD/CD collection. The kitchen was equipped better than our own home!! The two bedrooms are both 5 star hotel quality, and even though on a fairly busy downtown street, insulation is so good we had a hard time waking up in the mornings, and there was zero noise from within the building itself. Being minutes walk from Little Italy and Gaslamp district was just amazing, and we managed to do 5 live theater shows in the week we were there. Having all the San Diego Metro facilities (Trams, trains, busses, ferry) within 100 yards or so means that you can really get by without a car, but the included valet parking for the building looked perfect. We will definitely return, because we think the cultural scene in San Diego is far better than San Francisco. Robb and Mollie Wilmot

We stayed at Salsa Casita at the beginning of December 2009. The location was very convenient for walking. We were easily able to walk to Little Italy and the Gaslamp District. We had a function at the Convention Center and it was also easily accsessable. It was a great time of year to go and the ammenities in the condo were more than sufficient. Little Italy always had something going on. Karen was a great hostess, even though we never met her.

Salsa Casita is wonderful gem in a perfect location. The condo is cheerful, impeccably clean, and well-stocked with kitchen appliances, dishes and cooking spices; comfortable beds and high quality linens; washer and dryer; high definition television; and even a computer, printer and fax machine! The very private outdoor patio has plants and flowers and is perfect for dining and enjoying the beautiful San Diego weather. One of the best things about Salsa Casita is it's location. It is in charming Little Italy...a safe place to stroll day and night....a short walk to the ocean, harbor cruises, restaurants, shops, tourists attractions, parks, groceries, and all forms of public transportation. We could easily have stayed for weeks and never used our car. For those who do bring their cars...reserved underground parking is the ultimate in convenience. I can't wait for my next visit to Salsa Casita!

We stayed in the Salsa Casita the weekend of the San Diego Marathon 2009. It is a wonderful place and hope to return again soon! It is in the perfect location - close to everything yet quiet and relaxing at the same time. I'm delighted we found this place as I highly recommend it!

We recently stayed at Salsa Casita and had a great time. The owner is wonderful and very easy to work with. She is so accommodating and makes sure that you have everything that you need. The condo was clean, inviting, and an absolutely wonderful location. Right on the outskirts of Little Italy, and easy walking distance to Gaslamp, Convention Center, the harbor and the ferry landing. We had a wonderful time enjoying San Diego while staying at Salsa Casita.
