Our Casa De Colores is named for the vibrant paint colors used throughout this luxurious Condo. We tried to make it fun because that is what we always have when we visit our home away from home in Little Italy.
Tiled throughout for esthetics and carefree living this two bedroom, two bathroom condo has 2 queen beds with down/feather comforters and 5 star hotel quality bedding and linens. We have a roll away bed for a single.
Inside a 37 inch Plasma flat screen TV and a second small TV in one bedroom, a computer,
printer, fax copier, DVD player and a completely furnished kitchen make this your home away from home! The unit has Italian leather seating and is bright and inviting. The outdoor patio has a teak table and chairs for al fresco dining.
Our condo is close to everything; Comfortable, Convenient and Classy.
The gorgeous SD Bay is only 4 blocks away with the Maritime museum, ferries, parks and Embarcadero (waterfront) with walkways along the Bay for miles.
The Gaslamp, Convention center and Marina district are all within easy walking distance. Public transportation is outside the front door; trains, trams, buses and Pedi cabs. The city is at your beck and call.
The location is a 5 minute cab ride from the San Diego Airport. No
car is necessary but the valet
can park your vehicle in a secure garage and you are free to enjoy
your stay on foot or using the
many kinds of public transportation available in San Diego County.
The Gaslamp district is only a
ten minute stroll. The San Diego Bay with harbor cruises, bayside
walks and parks are yours only 4.5
blocks to the west. The historic Union Train Station is on Kettner
just 2.5 blocks from the front
gate; trains arrive and depart from and to Mexico to the South and

along the Pacific Coast via the San Diego Trolley, Coaster and
Amtrak. You are within walking

My daughter, sister-in-law and I stayed here while I attended a conference at the Convention Center. I can't say enough good about it. We enjoyed cooking in well stocked kitchen, but Little Italy was so close we had to sample several restaurants-some of the best Italian food I've ever had. We rented a car to get furthur out (and the garage staff was fabulous), but you wouldn't need one. The trolley station is only two and a half blocks away and service is timely. We purchased Compass passes for 4 days and could travel very easily. Back and forth to the convention center was a breeze. We drove up to San Jaun Capristrano, but if I came back, I'd take the train up there. The condo was cozy, the beds very comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the patio the first few days when the weather was nice. Unfortunately, it rained and was cold the last 2 days, but it didn't stop us from having a wonderful time here. We never used the computer, but having WiFi was great, as we all have iPads. Karen was great to work with and got things to us quickly, including returning our damage deposit. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever go back to San Diego, I will definately stay here.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Hi Karen & Russ Just a short note to say how much we all enjoyed staying at your apartment. We found it an ideal location and within easy reach of all the places we wanted to go. San Diego is now in my top 5 of places visited and I will highly recommend your place to any of my friends visiting. We had a week in Las Vegas and then came back to San Diego and had a couple of days in Ocean Beach to finish our vacation. Once again thanks for all the clear and easy directions etc And if we revisit in a few years I will be in touch. I receved your cheque and paid it in last week , said it could take 2 weeks to clear but proably quicker Thankyou. All the Best Kevin and Mairi,Tam & JacquiDid you find this review helpful? This is my second experience with VRBO and I had no complaints. The condo was comfortable and had everything I needed, including a computer with Internet access. Near the condo were great restaurants, shopping, attractions, and transportation (Train, Coaster, Buses, Trolley). The transportation is excellent. For $11 return I took the Coaster to Oceanside, California and enjoyed lunch on the end of the pier at Ruby's. I also purchased an MTS pass for four days for under $20 and this gave me unlimited travel via bus and trolley. I took the Trolley to the malls, as well as took the bus to the San Diego Zoo. In addition, I took the Ferry to Coronada Island. This condo really is in an excellent location and had all the required amenities. Dealing with Karen, the owner, was a pleasure and I would stay at her condo again if in San Diego.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Salsa Casita the first part of March with our good friends from the Seattle area. The location and weather were perfect for walking to the great restaurants in Little Italy and on the waterfront. We did rent a car to explore the area and appreciated the secure garage in the building and the excellent service from the attendants. The bright red sofa and chairs were fun and ever so comfortable for those times we spent reading and watching our must-see basketball games. It was a nice winter get-away.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We've never used VRBO for our vacation until we visited Karen & Russ' place. It was awesome. The location was very convenient, the condo was spotless, and VERY organized. We had a splendid time and Karen is a great host, even though we never actually met. It was our home away from home and is a totally different experience than a hotel. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics to cook with, there's tea and coffee. It was just wonderful. Thanks Karen & Russ!Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Good Morning Karen & Russ, We left our temporary San Diego home yesterday at 10:00 AM. We had a wonderful time. My daughter and I cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in your cozy condo. Took a long walk to the wharf while the bird was in the oven and ate al fresco on the patio. If people take the time to read your well organized package, it will make their stay that much more enjoyable. I can't think of anything you left out. It was everything you advertized and more. Your mini office setup made it so easy to take care of a couple of business matters I couldn't leave behing. It allowed me to really enjoy our stay in San Diego. We will definitely keep your place in mind for futute trips, Happy Holidays, Claude and DonnaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"Perfect place, ideal for downtown" "I can't say how much I enjoyed our stay at this condo. The place is exactly as described on the web site and has everything you need but never usually have in a vacation rental. This means that you can actually cook things without having to buy all the ingredients, like full bottles of oil or jars of spices, and you can do your laundry without buying a full box of detergent. The furnishings are lovely, the beds are super comfy and there's some books and DVDs if you fancy a quiet night in or run out of things to read. The condo is really handy for downtown and the trolley (and Amtrak at the Santa Fe depot) but is on a quiet street so there's no problem with noise. Extraordinary Desserts is round the corner, as is Little Italy, so there's always food available with only a very short walk. All in all I really loved it and would happily stay again."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

Why the Owner Chose Little Italy:
We live 6 hours from San Diego and wanted a place to cool off when the desert gets too hot. We love the water and the breezes.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Everything is available by walk or public transportation. We park the car in the garage and love the freedom that brings us. We have easy care tile throughout and a mini office when we need to bring our work with us. First thing when we get to town is a walk to the Bay to see the boats, cruise ships and sea gulls.
