This charming, clean and nicely decorated cabin (we call "the baby") is adorable. It is a great family oriented cabin in the very wooded but friendly area of Agate Bay.
In the summer the kids can walk to the enclosed private homeowner's pool and spend the day playing volleyball, tennis or bad mitten as well as swim in the heated pool and eat from the snack bar.
Then walk on to the private pier at the lake to further sunbathe and swim in the beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We are very close to one of the Tahoe Rim trail entrances. A beautiful view once you reach the top. An hour hike for all ages. It is also fun to walk to breakfast to the old Carnelian Bay Post Office converted to a wonderful old world cafe.
In the winter months the woods are covered with snow and the cabin is warm and cozy. Ski lifts near by are North Star, great for family.
Diamond Peak which is a bit smaller (and sort of a secret to the tourists) is close, and is a lot of fun with three very long runs. Mt. Rose is to the east a bit further.
It is also close to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley but the above are a bit less of a drive. The cabin is on a slope so tobogganing is right outside the door.
Then back to the cabin for a hot, relaxing Jacuzzi on the deck.
You will love your stay in "The Baby" as it has brought many wonderful memories to our family and friends and many return renters.

We are a family of 5. We spend a lot of time at the Lake. We live and work in San Diego, Ca. We love to get away to our cute quaint cabin in the pines. It is a wonderful year round retreat.
Why the Owner Chose Agate Bay
We have always taken our three children to Lake Tahoe to ski and snowboard. My brother and his kids lived in Reno, so the annual ski vacation included our nieces and nephews. We finially bought when my eldest was entering high school. Our youngest is still 15 and we spend a good amount of time year round at the Lake. I now prefer the summertime for our time at Lake Tahoe. Winter is wonderful but there is so much to do in the summer. We are fortunate enough to have ownership in the Pool and tennis court and pier at the Agate Bay community which makes it so convenient to enjoy the outdoors and mountain living.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
There is a great hiking trail directly above the cabin. It is pretty straight up at times but well worth the fire thighs. The trail up is about 1 hour. You get to sit at the rim and see the view of the whole lake. It is a thrill and too gorgeous for words. The hike down is quick and fun. Watch out for the bears! The pier and pool are walking distance and are so refreshing during the summer. Buoys are available. Skiing and snowboarding parks are close by. North Star and Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose are very close.

We rented this cabin for the month of March 2009. My husband, 3 year old daughter, pug and myself. It was really a warm, cozy, comfortable, pleasant place to be. The neighborhood was very nice and very quiet. The houses far enough apart that you had privacy. The living area is open to the kitchen with a huge vaulted ceiling that make it feel quite large. Having the full bath upstairs was great? (There are beds to sleep 6 up there!) We had a ton of snow and were able to make our own web of sled trails out back. That was so entertaining!(and not just for our little one)We had friends join us for a few days here and there and there was more than enough space. It is a short drive to Kings Beach or Tahoe City or the casinos. A really lovely place to stay, Thanks!

BEST CABIN FOR BEST PRICE IN TOWN! WE had SUCH an incredible time at the cabin. The best parts of the cabin are the warm, EASY to use fireplace, and the hot tub! They are SOOOO nice to have after a day in the snow. The house is VERY COMFY and inviting. All the rooms are large, clean, and homey feeling. The house also sleeps LOTS of people comfortably. We had 7 people with us and had plenty of room. I JUST LOVED IT! WISH I WAS STILL THERE RIGHT NOW!

This is the most wonderful cabin in all of Tahoe! For starters, it is so warm and cozy! The hot tub is so relaxing after a long day of skiing. It is close to all of the major mountains. It has everything you need in the kitchen to make a big breakfast before hitting the slopes, and a warm fireplace to sip your hot cocoa by and to warm your ski boots in front of. The second floor has tons of beds for a big group. I have stayed here three times already, and I hope to go back as soon as possible! It is the best deal in the area.
