Why the Owner Chose Castro
This is the home where I want to spend most of my time when I retire, so I bought a home that I love, not just a vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I love the views of the city and the bay. The kitchen is wonderful and the master bath is unique. I enjoy going to the coffee shop aroung the corner named Spikes and walking to many excellent restaurants.

Six young at heart senior women just spent a FANTASTIC 3 day weekend at this home. I've stayed at a dozen or so VRBOs and this was the most beautiful by far. WOW, it was just PERFECT for us. We all loved the home and the neighborhood. There was plenty of room to hang out and enjoy ourselves. We had breakfast each morning but for those who want to create meals this is a terrific kitchen. The views from the home were soooo beautiful! We felt lucky to be able spend time in this awesome home! Elaine was easy to work with and was prompt in her responses to my questions. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you, Elaine!

We stayed here over Spring Break 2011 visiting my sister who lives in SF. What a great change from a hotel. The bedrooms were all oversized and extremely comfortable. We spent most of our time on the deck off the kitchen in the unseasonably warm weather. Nearly every window sported fabulous views and the location was central to our needs. Although Collingwood is a huge hill, this home is located on the lower third of the grade - we walked down to 18th street, the stores and market almost every day. We also loved watching the kids on the playground every morning at Harvey Milk elementary across the street. Plus parking? Can't beat it!
Owner response:We agree with this tenant about the house. We feel invigorated by the views and calm because of the comfortable and interesting decor.

6 Friends Celebrating 30th Birthday...

Well, what can I say. Outstanding. The pictures in the advertisement do not do this property justice. It is a stunning house, well laid out, masses of space. There were 6 of us visiting for 7 nights from London. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and my friends 25th birthday. The house has absolutely everything needed for an amazing holiday. Great location, within a few minutes walk of the MUNI station at Castro, easy to get into the city centre for shopping and entertaining. I can not recommend this property highly enough. The owner is very helpful and answers correspondence promptly. A great person to do business with. I would encourage anyone considering looking to stay in San Francisco to strongly consider this property as an option. It may be slightly more in price than other properties of a similar size, but you will NOT be disappointed when you arrive.

We stayed in this house on two consecutive weekends in late Feb/early March 2010 and we loved it! It's in a great location - it is a very friendly neighbourhood. Spike's coffee around the corner, Buffalo Wholefoods grocery store on the other corner and the Anchor Oyster Bar just up the street, were all excellent. One night we bought fish from the Anchor Oyster Bar and then cooked it up on the grill at the house. Castro is a great base for exploring San Francisco - there are lots of public transport options. The house also has a reserved parking space. The house itself is gorgeous - high ceilings and big windows and fabulous views over San Francisco - especially from the upstairs shower!! The bedrooms are all beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is fabulously well equipped. The cupboards were full of essential items that you usually have to buy when you rent a vacation home, but you never finish during your stay - oils, herbs and spices, and that sort of thing. There was even laundry detergent in the laundry! The owner was great to deal with and made things very, very easy for us. I highly recommend this rental for anyone. We had a range of ages (5 months - 60+) and high expectations, and we all had a wonderful holiday.

We stayed at this wonderful house just over a year ago for New Year 2009. I hope the fact that it was still on my to do list to comment is testament to how GREAT a place this is. A safe, welcoming neighbourhood surrounds this beautiful home. Well decorated, spacious and airy rooms. Clean and comfortable with fantastic features (bathrooms, balconies, big windows, spectacular views). Highly recommended.
