Wonderful Stay; Wonderful Host

Guest: KA (Edmonton, AB, Canada)
Date of Stay: 04/27/12 Review Submitted: 05/18/12

4 of us stayed in Fiora's wonderful apartment in late April - early May. It was exactly as described and was perfect for the 4 of us. We loved the bustling market (Campo de' Fiori) every morning. Going down to buy fresh fruit and coffee was a morning treat. At night the market was alive with restaurants and street performers. The location was withing walking distance to all the sites, close to restaurants and shopping. Fiora was a wonderful host, answered all our questions and helped us with anything and everything we needed. She always answered her emails; before the trip if we had questions or concerns and during our stay. She also arranged to have a driver pick us up at the airport which was fantastic, especially after a long international flight. Our driver was waiting for us at the airport and took us directly to the apartment. We also used his service going back to the airport. Fiora was kind enough to give us advice on a trip to Pompeii, which saved us a bundle on what we would have paid for a tour and we had an amazing day trip to the ruins. The WiFi was fast and strong and all the appliances worked. The apartment was clean and well furnished and had lots of room for the 4 of us. It could have easily slept 6 or 8 if using the sofa beds in the living room. The next time we are in Rome we will call Fiora and an make sure we stay in this lovely apartment. We would highly recommend it to any of our friends.... Thanks Fiora, we look forward to seeing you again.

Doesn't get much better than this...

My family of 5, (children ages 12, 11 and 9) just got home from our most magical stay in Rome. This penthouse was just fabulous. It is situated in the most perfect area of Rome, especially if you plan to walk to all the sites. The farmer's market made for the perfect lunch everyday after site seeing in the morning. Campo de Fiori had everything you could need, (great bakery, great veggies and fruits, pastas and freshly squeezed juices). It made me think, I could live here for the rest of my life! The apartment was very clean and tidy and had a perfect amount of living space for my family. Nur, the Assistant, was just wonderful and helpful and Fabio, the driver was fantastic, showing us the sites to and from the airport. If there could possibly be any drawbacks, it was the amount of stairs to climb to the apartment, which I saw as a plus as it became my daily workout. The noise from the restaurants at ground level was also quite loud, but we became accustomed to the city living, (noise) quite quickly. We will be sure to come to Rome again and hopefully stay in the Penthouse at Campo De Fiori

Perfect location!

Wow! I'm so coming back! What an awesome experience staying at this rental. Campo de Fiori is such an amazing location and this penthouse is a great way to experience Roma! Let me first say, the service I experienced was fantastic. My flight ended up being 8 hours delayed and I got into Roma very late. I was able to email Fiorna and a new driver was rescheduled to pick me up at the airport. After 28 hours of non-stop travel I was VERY happy to be greeted by a driver who was able to take me quickly to Campo de Fiori (the driver was very professional and courteous). Thank you Fiorna! The penthouse was in very nice condition. Note that in the picture of the large bedroom, there is a mirror which reflects and makes it look like there are two large beds- but there is only one. My parents stayed with me and they too loved this penthouse (both in their mid 60s). They were able to enjoy this location and we were able to walk all over Roma. In 4 days we walked to the Vatican, Spanish steps and to the Colosseum- that makes this location very central and perfect for tourists. Campo de Fiori is awesome with a good 12-15 restaurants within a 2 minute walk! While it was noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, it was not a problem! You didn't hear the noise as much in the bedrooms as you could from the living room. I did do some laundry and had to hang dry my clothes. I brought some clothes pins and I'm glad I did because I needed them for the clothes line. I could only find one wine glass in the kitchen. With bottles of wine priced at 4 euros in the neighborhood- I enjoyed wine with my parents pretty much every night. Oh, and breakfast was amazing. Fresh produce every morning from the market at Campo de Fiori and a local bakery around the corner and a gelato shops too! Overall, this rental was in a perfect location and if this is not in your price range, then just remember- you get what you pay for! I found this rental to be priced competitively and I found it to be very much worth every euro I paid!

A Home in Rome

Guest: Hollie (Mamaroneck NY USA)
Date of Stay: 10/01/11 Review Submitted: 10/15/11

I just returned from an 8-day trip with my Mom to show her the city I love so much. I had been planning this trip for a year and thoroughly searched the Piazza Navona area apartments on VRBO - and fell in love online with everything that this one had to offer. Finally arriving at our "home in Rome" (if only for a short time) - it was everything I expected. The decor is lovely, very spacious for the heart of Rome, the beds extremely comfortable, the Terrace a lovely spot, and the location absolutely ideal. A real treat to be right in the heart of the action on lively Campo de Fiori - fun to watch the vendors set up and break down each day and then to listen to the life and music on the square each night. I was worried about the stairs for my mother, and while a bit trying sometimes for her, not a real problem and worth the steps up into this wonderful apartement. Fiora and Nur were very welcoming and helpful. Was a great help to have Alan carry our bags up the first day and another kind gentleman carried then down for our sad departure. We used driver service to and from airport - which was great. Highly recommend!!! I did not want to leave.

Super apartment

Guest: John (Sea Girt, NJ, USA)
Date of Stay: 07/06/11 Review Submitted: 07/18/11

The apartment was excellent overall. The manager/owner and her assistants were very attentive. At one point we thought the refrigerator had stopped working. They showed up within minutes only to find it was running fine again. It slept 4 adults and 3 kids with no problem. It probably could have fit 9 overall, as long as you don't mind 3 people in one bedroom, 2 in another, and 4 people (preferably kids) sharing two full size beds (one is pull out sofa) in the great room. The showers are a bit small, but managable. The listing incorrectly lists a clothes dryer and dish washing machine, but we didn't find their absence to be a problem. There is a clothes washing machine, and we put clothes on the line outside the back window or on the drying racks inside the apartment. The apartment overlooks the popular Piazza Campo de' Fiori. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables are available in the square/piazza below daily. At night the fruits/vegetable markets pack up, and the piazza transforms into an active social gathering place. A bit noisey on the weekend, but not bothersome at all with the air-conditioning units running. A/C is a MUST in Rome in the Summer, and thankfully this apartment has 3 A/C units. Please note that the main level of the apartment is on the 4th floor of the building. The bedrooms are another level above that. My wife, our children, and I all handled it just fine. However, my elderly in-laws at age 80 found the steps to be challenging. At the end of the day when we were hot and tired from touring, we would go up to wash and change before dinner. My in-laws usually opted to wait down below at a bar or restaurant rather than take the steps twice in the same day. Overall we were very pleased with the location, service, and quality of the apartment. There are mutliple restaurants, a couple of bars, a butcher shop, tons of shopping, a bus stop, a tram stop, a bakery, a gelateria, a Catholic church, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon all within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean, and all expected supplies were provided and even some we didn't expect, such as coffee with a coffee pot, sugar, a bottle of wine, and a new container of milk in the refrigerator. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks very much Fiora.

What a wonderful apartment and in a fabulous location. You can walk absolutely to ALL the Roman sites. There are plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants in the area, and for a real Roman experience with the locals don't miss the area wine bars that open later in the evening on various side streets off the Campo. Lots of shopping in the square for fresh produce and trinkets, a good small grocery store is right on the sqaure with other larger ones near by.This apartment was accurately portrayed as in the photos, except for a lovely double four poster bed now off the living area. It was well appointed ,very clean and lovely linens. The pick-up from the airport was seamless and highly recommended as was the return to the airport. The owner communicated well with us prior to our arrival and her assistant was excellent as well as prompt in repairing (minor) the ceiling fan in the livingroom, everything else was good. The market is open very early for early risers and Friday & Saturday nights can be very lively. The 62 stairs may seem daunting but as a fit but almost senior, after the second time I was fine plus when we arrived there was help with the bags. I would highly recommend this apartment.

If you know Rome and Campo di Fiori, then you cannot beat this apartment. I was worried it may not really accommodate our family of 5 but it did so easily. You have to be prepared for a little piazza noise at night, but turning on the fan easily took care of that. Beyond that, our hosts went well beyond the call of duty as far as helping us with not only the usual travel details but completely taking care of us when we mistakenly arrived a day early as well (don't get any ideas). It is obviously a place that has received much love and attention. Grab it before someone else does!

Live Like a Roman!

Our stay in this apartment was most pleasant. We love the apartment experience over a hotel one since it provides so much more flexibility. There are PLENTY of restaurant options (we especially loved Ristorante Da Pancrazio literally right around the corner and you HAVE to have a granita at Tazza D'Oro a short walk away at the Pantheon), but we ate dinner in three nights simply by cooking the good food we found right downstairs! : ) Aside from the fresh fruit and vegetable sellers in the piazza there are several butchers and a grocer with freshly-made pastas. The washer is a big plus, too, as it means you can pack lighter knowing you can wash some things easily while you are there. It was an easy walk to ALL of the old city major tourist attractions (Trastevere, Pantheon, Piazza Navonna, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo and Saint Peter's) as well as quick access to a taxi stand and the major bus hub at Largo Torre Argentina for everything else. And there is nothing like being able to just look out the window and take in “the show” down in the piazza below. Fiora and her assistants Nur and Alan were very responsive and accommodating. If you want to live the "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" experience, this is a place you can do it!

We had a wonderful 1 week stay. It was convenient for walking or catching a bus at Largo d. Torre Argentina. We were 4 adults and the stairs were not a problem. Help with our luggage was offered but we declined. The apartment has everything you will need to enjoy your stay in Rome. We were able to have breakfast every morning before venturing out and cooked in 3 nights saving on the dining out expense. You can find everything you need nearby. The wifi was great. The arranged limo to the airport was easy and no hassle door-to-door service.

The 4 of us, all adults, stayed a week at this great apartment. To walk out our door and buy everything we needed/wanted for breakfast or for dinner was awesome. We were able to walk to all our tourist destinations throughout Rome. The apartment was clean and the water was hot and the pressure was great. Not for those who aren't up for walking (the apartment is on the top floor - no elevator). We didn't find it an issue. The view of the square was awesome. Fiora and her assistant, Nur, were accomodating and available. This is the place to stay, you can't go wrong.

Loved the apartment

Guest: CmcA (Boston, MA area)
Date of Stay: 07/26/10 Review Submitted: 08/06/10

My husband and 2 teen-aged daughters and I stayed here for a few nights while we were in Rome. It was perfect for us. There was a fresh fruit/vegie/pasta market until 2 pm daily, and the piazza changed to a spirited bar/ restaurant scene at night, so we could share the jazz music being played in the piazza below. Loved the area. It's very close to the Piazza Navonna, and an easy walk to all the major sites. The apartment is well cared for and stylist, albeit, tight on height in some areas, something that did not bother my 6'-5" tall husband a bit. Very romantic place. Thank-you! Hopefully we will return for a longer stay.

This apartment was lovely and clean and in a fantastic location. The apprearance and amenities are exactly as described and easy to use. The apartment had clean fresh sheets and big fluffy towels, abd the beds were very comfortable. The owner was very helpful with where local supermarkets and atm machines were as well as giving advice on things to do in and around Rome. The square below is a hive of activity and it is great to look down and watch. It is easy to buy fresh produce in the morning or just o to one of the restaurants in the evening. We walked to all Rome attractions from here. I would definitely recomment this apartment if you are planing a trip to Rome.

We enjoyed our stay very much and the apartment was very central within easy walking distance of all the major sites. The square was full of life and very vibrant from the early morning markets to the street entertainers in the evening. We will certainly be back again in the near future. The transport arrangements were excellent and having somewhere to store our luggage on the last day whilst waiting for our flight was very useful. One suggestion would be if arriving late, as we did, that refreshments and snacks could be made available and then paid for on arrival.

I traveled to Rome alone with three children,(10,12,and 15) and had the most wonderful stay at Fiora's place in Rome. It is a lovely, comfortable penthouse, very well located, very safe, well stocked, and the ac in the bedroom gets COLD - so wonderfully cold, a rarity in Rome. The market sets up everyday just below your windows, and you can walk down the stairs and buy EVERYTHING you need from the vendors just outside the door - there is milk, breads, fruits vegetables, meats, spices, water fountains, I could go on and on. My children could run downstairs as I watched from the window and do any shopping we needed! I was one happy lady! Thanks again, Fiora

This was a wonderful place to call home while in Rome. The daily farmers market in Campo De' Fioria and the nightlife of the cafes below made for a great stay. The host left some basics in the kitchen which was a great surprise. The location was great to see the sites and to simply walk the city. We would definately stay here again.

We had a great stay in the apartment in June/July 2009. Fiora had wine, olive oil, balsamic, milk, bread, coffee, tea, etc loaded in the kitchen when we arrived. Great touch. The apartment was very clean and a great spot on the Campo. Very quiet and we slept comfortably in the spacious two bedroom, with a huge living/dining room. We would return any time. The A/C is important in Rome in the summer. We'd return anytime. Thanks to Fiora!

The Campo de Firoi Penthouse suite exceeded our expectations. The apartment was very clean and well stocked. Fresh flowers, coffee, tea and a good bottle of wine which makes you feel welcomed. The Wi-Fi internet connection worked great. The apartment has a telephone which came in handy to receive and make local calls. There is 76 stairs with no lift but after 10 days we had no problem climbing the stairs swiftly. I'm 65 and had a knee replacement one year ago therefore I was a little apprehensive. After my treks through Rome's coble stone streets the stairs did not pose a problem. The apartment overlooks the Piazza with fresh produce and ots of music. We enjoyed the activity on Piazza but it can be a little noisy if you are looking for a very quiet place. The only problem we had was the second bath's hot water. After resetting the timer several times a technician was called in and fixed the problem. I would highly recommend this apartment. The location was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Rome. The pizzeria "bir & Fud" in Trastevere is a must. www.birefud.it
