Not so hot
Not so hot
Not so hot. Very neglected. Hot tub, bad shape. Clothes washer didn't drain water or spin. The two furnished coffee makers didn't work at all. Flowers would have been much prettier than the weeds in the pot on the patio. You leave a tip envelope on fridge. Ours had not been vacuumed. Many cob webs, dust and dirt down in the stair bannister. No makeup remover furnished as you said. Gutters were overflowing as it poured rain. They had not been cleaned lately. Perhaps this is why the cabin walls leak.

Needs some TLC
Needs some TLC
Upon arrival at Grand Cabin, we noticed the neglected pond and overgrown bushes but figured the inside would be better. Unfortunately, it appeared the cabin had not been dusted or vacuumed in some time (as there were cob webs in the staircase and dead bugs on the carpet). Still attempted to look past this to try to enjoy the experience because of the large space it offered our group...then the water heater broke. It happened at a time we thought maybe we had used up its capacity as our group prepared to leave for an IU football game. We hoped the water heater would fill and be ready upon our return...unfortunately, it did not. Because we had 8 kids to get to bed and it was late, we called management in the morning to explain the problem. We were frustrated because none of the 14 of us could shower after a hot day at football game and everyone had to depart for very long car rides home (again, without being able to shower). The first number we called said it was disconnected. The second number told us we had the wrong person...but they had someone call us back. By the time this occurred, it was 10am and check out was 11am. We asked for a partial refund since we were unable to fully utilize the cabin. We were told no because we did not call in the problem early enough. I guess we should have just passed on going to the football game in order to fix the problem OR call at midnight to have a plumber come to fix it when we were trying to get 8 kids to bed (sarcasm intended). Management did offer a small discount on another rental...but after staying at Grand Cabin, I would not trust the condition of their other rentals. At the end of the day, given its condition and our experience, Grand Cabin is not worth the money.
