My family spent a week at this wonderful condo and loved everything about it. The location is wonderful and close to everything. We found the unit very clean, fresh and almost feeling brand new and even nicer than we saw on the website. The neighborhood is very safe, close to the Smithsonian and all the sights. We walked to two grocery stores around the corner (Whole Foods and Safeway), both of which are very close. The owner gave us great tips on where to go eat and was so nice that we almost felt like having a new friend. Highly recommend to everyone who can get on the calendar as it seems that they book up pretty far in advance.Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. It was pleasure meeting you and your family and we are looking forward to see you again.

This condo was better than advertised. The home is well furnished including a very comfortable bed in the master bedroom. The neighborhood had some excellent restaurants (check out Bistro Le Bonne) all within walking distance and the metro as just a few blocks away. We really got a feel for what it would be like to live in D.C.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

We had a great experience in DC. Everything went as planned. The unit was just as it was advertised and the communication with Kate was easy. We had some difficulty getting hot water initially, but we finally figured that out. DuPont Circle was a fun neighborhood to be in, lots of shopping and excellent dining options nearby. (Whole Foods, Logan Tavern, La Tomate, Lauriol Plaza, Rosemary's Thyme Bistro).Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My family and I recently stayed at this location for a long weekend in DC and could not have been happier with the home. Everything was so nice and perfect for our quick trip. We had great weather so the walks to the Metro stations were fine. The house is in between U Street and Dupont Circle Station so we used both stations. We enjoyed our talk to Dupont Circle Station a bit better than U Street but overall either station is great. The house was spacious enough for 6 of us (5 adults and one child) however, I'd only recommend that many people for a shorter stay. Thanks again for everything!Did you find this review helpful? We found this condo to be a great space and location for our family (two adults, 3 kids - two jr high age, one younger). The condo itself is very well-equipped for a family with all the kitchen amenities we needed, plus two full baths, a good-sized tv area, large dining table, etc. The decor is very nice and the whole unit is very homey. Note that both bathrooms are upstairs - that wasn't an issue for us but it could be for those who need to avoid lots of steps. The condo itself is perfectly situated for public transportation - the bus stop is right at the corner, a few doors down, so quite close but not so close that you have buses running down your street at all hours. The U-Street metro stop is a few blocks away. The first 2 days we were there, we walked to the National Mall area -- it's a trek but definitely doable and a fun walk through a great neighborhood and a great way to check out DC. Our family made great use of the Safeway which was about 2-3 blocks away. Other reviews were right when they said parking is a challenge. Our vehicle was too big for the private parking space, so we bought the street-parking permit. That was definitely a must-have if you have a vehicle in DC, but even then, parking on the street in front of the condo can be hard to find. We basically found a spot and left our car there all week, taking the metro everywhere. One tip for visitors: If you buy an "unloaded" metro card (that's the only kind Safeway sells; apparently CVS sells pre-loaded cards) and want to use the metro immediately, make sure you load the card AT the metro (train) station kiosk and not online. We found that it takes about a day for $$ loaded using Metro's online application to appear on our metro cards, so we had to load add'l $$ on the cards once we got to the subway station anyway. In summary, we loved the condo and the neighborhood and would definitely recommend it for DC visitors.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My friends and I totally enjoyed our time in this rental. Great location and amenities, clean and well maintained. The only comment I have is that the unit was always a little cool even when we increased the thermostat by a few degrees so it was hard to get really cozy. But all in all great place and would easity recommend it to others.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

This summer we travelled to Washington with my family of 4 (2 teenage boys) and my sister's family renting this lovely condo for the week. There were 2 condos that we rented in this building (1 upper unit, 1 lower unit with the reverse plan) allowing all of us to stay in close proximity. The unit was clean, well laid out and quite spacious. The photos did not do justice to the unit; the unit was pristine with high end appliances and comfortable bedding. The master bedroom is very roomy, however the second bedroom is small. The condo is also walking distance to the metro, as well as 2 nearby grocery stores (including Whole Foods!). All the major monuments and museums are an easy subway ride away. Kate was very helpful answering questions by e-mail prior to our arrival. The parking spot at the back of the unit is tiny and I would not recommend parking an SUV there. We also required a parking pass for 1 vehicle to be parked on the street and had some difficulty securing a parking pass on our arrival; however the owners were able to get it to us early the next morning and this was very much appreciated. I would recommend this property to any families travelling to Washington. Thanks for a lovely place to stay in Washington.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

A tastefully updated row house, located near DuPont Circle. A lovely, very walkable neighborhood. Close to all forms of public transportation. The apartment provided a fully equipped kitchen. The roomy master bedroom-bath is lovely. The second bedroom is small...not the optimum for an adult couple. Probably better for kids. Very clean and well maintained unit.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Enjoyed being in this great area, very convenient to metro and great restaurants, etc. comfortable house. Air conditioner thermostat was confusing and no instructions...took two days to get clear response from owner on how to operate. Tv not operable, cable not connected...finally after two days owner came over and fixed? No apologies for the inconvenience. Would not return.Did you find this review helpful? For our family this was our first experience staying at a VRBO. We really enjoyed our time. It was much better than staying at a hotel. If we were going back to DC, we'd definitely see if this property was available.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We are family owned and operated. From the left meet Kate, Jarek (sister and brother) and our mom Dana. We have lived in Washington for over ten years and love this cosmopolitan city where people get up every morning and get to work on changing the world. The most powerful people in DC can alter the course of history and try to make the world a better place. It's a city where philosophical debate and advocacy of issues beyond one's own family or pocketbook rule the day; a city where what's going on in one's head is far more important than what one is wearing; a city where people come from all over the world to experience democracy and learn the principles of our free society. We get visitors from all over the country and the world. Some come for one time visit with their family, others keep coming back number of times a year as we host many repeat guests related to the federal government, foreign embassies and the US State Department. We take great pride in having our unit very clean (our mom cleans it, so you know it’s spotless), conveniently located within walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and Metro. We want you to enjoy your visit whether it is once in a lifetime trip with your family or monthly visit for work. We are looking forward to hosting you in DC and if there is something we can help with, let us know.
Why the Owner Chose Dupont Circle:
Situated in the heart of the city is the tony neighborhood of DuPont Circle. Located in a section of Washington called 'Old City', DuPont Circle is a traffic circle, neighborhood, and historic district. A number of historic homes can be found throughout the area, including the post-presidential residence of Woodrow Wilson. DuPont Circle is a known destination for fine dining and entertainment.
This cosmopolitan neighborhood includes an eclectic collection of shops and trendy restaurants that draw visitors young and old. Originally populated by Washington's old money and nouveau riche, DuPont Circle is now home to artists, intellectuals, and young professionals. Turn-of-the-century mansions and brownstones—once home to some the city's most prominent families—now house some of the nation's finest art museums, hippest restaurants, quirky shops, and foreign embassies. It is also home to the Phillips Collection, one of the city's foremost art museums featuring paintings by Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Picasso, and others.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The proximity to the National Mall, White House and all of downtown is just unmatched in this apartment. On the weekend, DuPont Circle has one of the largest organic farmers' markets in the city. This neighborhood is accessible by foot or cab. WalkScore rates our unit and the surrounding neighborhood a walkability rating of 98 out of 100 - so as perfect as one can get. There are two Metro Stations nearby our condo - Dupont Circle which is pretty close as well as U Street. Both within walking distance about 10 minutes.
