This house is great for families with children above "can swim". It is also a great location for those willing to walk and see the Grove Houses. Marti, the hostess, is friendly if you remember she's half french ;-)

Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I want to say thank you for the wonderful stay in your house. It was beautiful and perfect for the entertaining we did while in Miami. We did have a couple of issues, but the owner was immediately available to take care of them quickly and at our convenience, and was happy to do so. We found the property to be clean and well-maintained. I would recommend this property for a large group and you have very adequate space and comfortable accomodations.

This property looks great on the site, but is much less in person - and the owner unfortunately, did not rectify the situation. I booked this property as a getaway for my girlfriend and I for a nice peaceful weekend - we did not get that. Included in the problems was: - owner asked if I minded having roof work done on our first day in the home - this is a very large house and there was one television - and it did not work - when i asked the owner how she can have a house with no tv, when it is advertised, she said she thought we probably wouldn't need one. The weather was cold and it was in florida and we wanted to stay in and watch some movies - this was not possible. An unfortunate response from owner. - pool was unusable - dirty and filled with debris - filter was turned off - when asked about the grill while onsite, the owner said she has no idea how it works - we wanted to take a bath and we come to find out that the hot water heaters are so small, they would not even fill one bathtub before turning cold - a 5000sf house and one small hot water heater - definitely not optimal. This was not the experience we hoped for.

Owner response:I am a firm believer that the customer is always right, which is why I go out of my way to accommodate each and every guest in my home. I have been fortunate to have many, many gracious and friendly guests many of whom are repeat customers. This particular man wrote this review 4 months after his stay and seems to be confused about the actual facts. I don't know what situation he is referring to when he says, "the owner did not rectify the situation." #1. I asked him if it was ok to have the roofer come Friday morning to do a quick 30 minute job of securing the flashing. He agreed as long as it was completed by the time he returned from the airport with his girlfriend. It was. #2. When he arrived late Thursday night, I told him the main TV had gone out for repair & asked him if we would need a TV. When he said, "yes", I brought him my 32" flat screen from home, with a built in DVD player, so he could rent movies. The main TV was returned on Saturday. #3. There was a rare cold front that weekend, which moved in with a lot of wind and subsequently, more debris than usual. The pool filter is never turned off as it is on a timer. Whenever this happened before, the guests called me and I sent the pool man or went myself. He never reported it. #4. I had just bought a new gas BBQ grill for the house, so when he asked me how it worked, I really didn't have any idea. But the instructions on how to ignite it, were imprinted on the front of the grill. #5 Yes, the hot water heater is really too small to fill this 5' diameter tub to the top, but the house has 2 hot water heaters: one for each floor. I have always taken care of any problem or situation as soon as it was reported.

The Perfect Place to Stay in Miami

When my family came for a visit to Miami in late July, we were lucky enough to find this house for their stay -- and what a fabulous find it turned out to be. This French country home was perfect for our large gathering and made our time together a pleasure in every way. Each of my family members had their own bedroom/bathroom accommodations, which meant privacy and convenience for all. We enjoyed the tropical grounds, great location, pool, outdoor barbeque, reading nook and huge Florida room, where we ate meals, played games and had wonderful conversations. The owner is a gem and really went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. I can't wait for my family to visit me here in Miami again so they can stay at this beautiful home.

Miami family reunion

Our trip to Miami was so much more fun due in large part to our time spent at this property. The house was beautiful, well equipped and spacious enough to accommodate the 8 adults who stayed at the house as well as 2 family members living in the area. Everyone enjoyed the pool (a tropical paradise), preparing meals together in the kitchen, and sitting around the huge kitchen table reminiscing about times gone by. There was, however, one small problem when we first got there; the A/C didn’t seem to be cooling the second floor. Fortunately, Marti, the homeowner, was quick to get a repairman out to solve the problem. Next time we meet in Miami, this will be our first choice when it comes to accommodations.

The house is wonderful, and everything that’s in it is for you to use. The house is complete with bedding, bath and kitchen items like any other house. Also TV, direct TV, board games, Nintendo, Play Station, Stereo, CD’s, Movies and Video Games. It fits about 8 people more than comfortably. The house is very spacious but it is also very homey and cozy. The house its about 15 minutes away from the airport, and you won’t have to drive more than 25 minutes to get to any of the tourist attractions in the Miami area. The owner is very understanding, flexible and accommodating. She actually bought some extra wine glasses for a big dinner party we had one night.Overall the house was a great place to stay, and well equipped, I recommend it for any situation.
