This uniquely authentic Baja villa was built by the owner, who has been visiting and fishing the East Cape for more than 35 years. The home was built to capture the offshore breezes and features a thatched roof that ensures perfect temperatures in the house year round. One third of the main house is open air, and after the front patio, is the most popular hang out area of the house. There is a cushioned bench that surrounds the room, with 2 game tables in the center, and a hammock in the corner. Perfect for afternoon reading or naps, and evening cocktails and charades.

There are two master bedrooms in the main house, and two detached casitas with king beds and full baths on either side of the house. The open air section of the main house is where the kids love to sleep.The home is managed by Dona Elida, a native of the area who has 35 years of hospitality experience. Most recently, she was the manager of the nearby hotel Punta Colorada. Dona Elida will welcome you upon arrival, and can answer your questions and work with you to organize fishing charters, meal preparation, sightseeing, shopping, additional housekeeping services and even wedding planning.

East Cape fishing is legendary for big game: marlin, dorado, tuna and rooster fish. The owner's good friend and fishing captain, Trino Mijares, can pick you up in front of the house with a panga. Or Elida can arrange for a larger cruiser from one of the local hotels fleets.

This is the best swimming beach in southern Baja - minimal surf and no undertow. The house sits on a two acre lot with 328ft of beach front. The closest house is more than four hundred ft away-the ultimate in privacy.

  • When we first saw this property, it took our breath away. Located on the Sea of Cortez, with no neighbors close by, it is like having your own private piece of the ocean. The meals that were provided with love and care by two wonderful senoras, were such a treat! Our time there, all agreed, was the best, most relaxing vacation we had ever experienced.

  • Our family has enjoyed this wonderful vacation retreat many times in recent years. We find it a most relaxing & enjoyable place for fishing, swimming, quilting, reading & socializing. The authentic cuisine served by the ladies of La Ribera is always a much anticipated treat. The home is spacious & well appointed. The cabanas are cozy & quiet. The patio provides a spectacular view of sand, sea & beautiful desert mountains. A word of caution: a stay in Cabo Colorada is definitely habit forming. Our grandsons think a stay at this home is better than Disneyland!
