This mansion, one of the most beautiful in Tepoztlan, was designed by a leading Mexican architect who took into consideration the feel of the Mexican village of Tepoztlan below. It was built into the side of the mountain and takes in a breathtaking view of the valley below. At night, the twinkling lights of the village below provide a romantic backdrop for dinner alfresco. Breakfast under the loggia in the cool morning air or the view of a spectacular late afternoon sunset are other delights to be taken in here.
The architecture is a balance of modern comfort and colonial earthiness: featuring high ceilings with massive wooden beams, terra cotta tiled roof, an enormous entirely tiled kitchen, polished wall to wall marble bathrooms, granite countertops, chipped marble floors, and rare Brazilian hardwoods. The master bathroom has a 4 person Jacuzzi to relax in after you've taken a half hour hike up to the summit of the mountain, which continues up from the back side of the house.
The property is decorated with many unique antique pieces that lend it a particular air of colonial splendor. When you tire of reading a book under the loggia or on the columned porch, you can slip into the pool. Tepoztlan enjoys spring-like weather all year, but during the middle of the day is always a good time for a dip in the pool. There is a couple on site who can cook for you upon request for a small fee. You can hire a driver to take you to the nearby towns of Cuernavaca or Taxco or you can go down to the village for a healing massage. Or you can even schedule a cooking class in Tepoztlan. This is a vacation that will leave you restored rather than exhausted.
