Fall is Fiesta Season in Las Cruces and Mesilla and we want to make it easy for you to enjoy some time here this year. This eclectic, colorful dwelling is a fantastic blend of warmth and imagination. Beauty and comfort are found in the local art, rustic wooden tables, silk pillow covers, velvet and linen curtains, the fine leather couch and hand-hewn log king bed. Partly luxurious and well-appointed, partly rustic and surprising, Carmen's Suite creates space for serenity, romance and inspiration.

The majestic Organ Mountains grace the eastern view from both the balcony and the bedroom presenting a unique backdrop for the sunrise each morning and reflecting color and light distinctively throughout the rest of the day. The historic Old Mesilla Plaza and Basilica of San Albino are less than a mile down the road with restaurants, galleries, unusual shops and more for the spirit and the senses.

They say La Mesilla is the place where time stands still and it is true. Explore the historic neighborhoods, walk along the Rio Grande irrigation ditches and imagine this crossroads a century and more ago. Las Cruces was the half-way point for travelers on the westward trek from San Antonio to San Diego, as well as southward bound from Santa Fe to Chihuahua. Today it is a lo-rise university town, home to 90,000 warm-hearted souls, and surrounded by big southwestern skies and vistas. White Sands National Monument is less than an hour away as are other areas for hiking, exploring or relaxing.

Whatever you do during your stay, you will surely feel the warmth and harmony when you come home to relax or work. You can exercise in the fitness room at our small clubroom, cook a meal on the outdoor grill or have a swim in our wonderful outdoor pool.

International Mariachi Conference & Concert November 13-15
A week-long conference culminating with one spectacular concert featuring internationally known mariachi performers. The Parque Festival, held on the Mesilla Plaza, features entertainment and cultural activities. NMSU Pan American Center and Young Park.

Christmas Carols and Luminarias on the Plaza December 24
The historic village of Old Mesilla is aglow with thousands of luminarias and caroling. Spectacularly beautiful!

  • My husband and I have wanted to visit Southern New Mexico for some time and we were fortunate enough to stay in Carmen's Suite in La Mesilla. We have stayed in other VRBO properties, but we were extremely impressed by the beautifully decorated condo, with every detail personally attended to by the owner. The furnishings, the beautiful art, and the amenities made this one of our favorite places to stay. Overall, Carmen's Suite was the most immaculate we have ever stayed in with the most comfortable bed ever. Our compliments to the owner.

  • We were looking for a comfortable place to stay for our family during my daugher's graduation from NMSU, and we found it at Carmen's Suite. We were also able to rent Sophia's Suite right next door, and both suites provided a perfect and relaxing retreat for our whole family. The location is close to Old Mesilla and NMSU, and both condos are beautifully decorated and have all the comforts of home. Nancy is wonderful to work with, and we highly recommend either suite to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious place to stay.

  • We just got back from a one week stayIn Carmen's Suite. We found Nancy to be very helpful in setting up our stay. The condo was in the best location possible for visiting Mesilla. It had everything one could need for a comfortable stay, and was beautifully decorated. We had never visited the area and found it easy to navigate from. We often walked to town for shopping and dinner. The mountains were beautiful and we hiked and rode bikes. We toured White Sands, Alamagardo, Cloudcroft, The City of Rocks, New Mexico State University, and the Las Cruces farmers market. The people of the area were very friendly. We would love to return again someday.

  • The Carmen Suite is very attractive, I think even more so than pictured, perhaps because pictures can't capture ambiance. It has a very nice feel to it, cozy and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in the condo for six weeks in 2009 and because of the owner's thoughtful attention to detail, we had everything we needed, even a nice little sewing kit. I don't hesitate at all in recommending this rental. The location is wonderful with Old Mesilla Plaza just a short walk down the road. Las Cruces itself is a nice town, easy to navigate, easy to get to know. We loved hiking the numerous trails in the Organ Mts. and for anyone who doesn't want a large metropolitan area, the city offers just about everything, only on a smaller scale. Needless to say, we were very pleased.

  • Our stay in Carmen Suite was all that we expected and more. The condo is well appointed and comfortable. We loved the original art by local artists. Everything needed to cook a gourmet meal was available in the kitchen. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. The location allows easy access to any place in the area. Morning walks in Old Mesilla revealed the interesting history and culture of Mesilla. We hope to return to soak up some sun, culture, history and good food.
