Hi there, Just wanted to thank you for allowing us to use your gorgeous condo in Mesilla last week. It was perfect for our needs and close to everything we wanted to visit. We appreciated friendly Theresa who was so sweet to let us know all about our place. We loved the muffins, such a nice treat! The whole weekend was great! We really enjoyed visiting our son, went on a cool hike, enjoyed fantastic food, and loved the warm weather. We are back in Michigan now facing our upcoming freezing winter! Thanks so much. We'll be in touch for our next visit to NM! You have a beautiful state! Sincerely, Kristine Schaeffer

I stayed in this lovely condo for a few nights in November when visiting my son, an airman, stationed at Holloman AFB. From the moment we walked through the entry door, we knew this was a perfect choice. It was as nice as what he missed back in New York and it had all the amenities for me to make a few of his sorely missed home-cooked favorites! The description of this condo is not one bit exaggerated. Everything is as nice, if not nicer, than the pictures. Luxurious, eclectic, unique, comfortable, homey...Teresa was so helpful and answered all our questions regarding the area. I would recommend this property to anyone who is as discerning as I am and who has stayed in many places and knows a great one when they see one.

Carmen's suite is a very comfortable home away from home, from the bed to the living room to the extremely well-stocked kitchen (we were very impressed). There was nothing left out. We stayed for 4 days but it would be excellent accommodations on a long term basis. Teresa was very friendly and helptul - a great manager. We could walk to Mesilla in just a few minutes and we used the suite as our base to explore Southern NM and just to relax by the pool or have morning coffee on the balcony to plan our days.

Condo is as stated plus much more. It was the best 1 week stay. When we first arrived it was a little confusing since Theresa was unable to meet us and her family member met us who was very nice. We waited in the parking lot which is where we should have waited on the back of the condo but no one came so hubby went to investigate and he found her. So because of that I thought what have I done. So except for that our stay was wonderful. Not only is the condo the best ever but the people and town of Las Cruces are so warm and friendly. One of the highlights of our stay was eating breakfast on the balcony and hot air balloons floated by. What a treat. We can't wait to go back. Next time it will be for 2 weeks. Loved the comfy bed and having the washer and dryer was such a great thing. The only thing that could have been better is if it was on the first floor. It is hard for me to do the stairs with my bum knee but it wasn't that bad.

Everything was great! The location worked out nicely. We could walk to Mesilla for shopping, meals or just for excercise. The photos were exactly what the condo was like. It was very clean. It was decorated in southwest flair. It had everything you'd ever need and more. We would highly recommend this to anyone and we hope to return in the near future and stay here again.

Our stay 2 week stay, from Jan.15-29, was GREAT!! The quality and comfort of the condo were under advertised. We made several sightseeing trips of the area and in returning to the condo it was stepping in our own home, only the weather was much warmer. Teresa who is the manager was so helpful in showing the condo and grounds plus told us of places to see in the area and places good to eat. The condo and grounds were well maintained and clean. The only problem we had was that we couldn't stay longer and we hope we can return again.
Owner response:Dear John and Susan, We are truly happy to hear that you had a wonderful time in Las Cruces and that staying in Carmen's Suite contributed to your happiness! See you again next time...

This condo is a delight to stay in. It is decorated so beautifully that I immediately fell in love with it! It was quiet and very comfortable. The building itself is well constructed and contains high quality materials. The owner thought of everything to make our stay feel very special--which it was. I felt so lucky to have chosen this condo for our vacation in Las Cruces. It was so nice to return home to this adobe after a day of exploring. It is obvious that the owner wants to make her patrons happy. My husband and I will definitely chose this condo for future visits.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words and observations. It is always a joy to hear that others are enjoying themselves in this beautiful place as much as I do! We look forward to welcoming you back again next time you are in Las Cruces.

We travelled to Las Cruces for the first time for some medical treatments and my wife and I were overjoyed that this vacation rental was better in person than in the pictures. The Manager and the Landlord were great and paid special attention to our needs. This place was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. It's nice to sleep in a place where you know that the owner cares about her property and the guests. Since we were there in December, it was a nice added touch that the manager came in while we were out and put up some Christmas lights and a cute little tree. My wife is pretty picky and she definitely enjoyed her stay here.

The quality, comfort, and all the features were as advertised. This is an excellent place to stay. The owner is pleasant and professional. We enjoyed our first stay here and we are returning in few weeks. The property is clean and well maintained with a sense of 'owner's pride' in their units. We rarely see and experience places like this, where the reality is how the advertisement describes. I could recommend these units to anyone who are looking for these kinds of short-term units. Plus the gated community is another added bonus and security.

This owner's "Carmen Suite" is one of the most attractive and comfortable accommodations I've had on my seven month trip around the US. Everything is immaculate; the provisioning is complete (can't think of anything I needed that wasn't already made available); the decorating was exceptionally tasteful, artistic and interesting ... it takes a while to appreciate all the little individual touches that, in aggregate, join in providing such an enjoyable environment; the bed is comfortable and the location is very quiet so getting good rest is definitely no problem. The provided detailed written instructions for use of the TV/Satellite/Sound system was much appreciated since these installations vary so much in operation from place to place. Everything met or exceeded what was described in the listing. The lodging is conveniently near the I-10 Exit 140 in an attractively landscaped and gated residential complex with on-site parking. Restaurants, gas stations, mall, general shopping are accessible within very short drives. Practically next door is the interesting "Old Mesilla Village" with its central plaza and surrounding boutique shops, art galleries and eating places. Just another fifteen minutes west of that brings you into peaceful rural landscapes, vast pecan orchards, pastures and the Rio Grande. The site makes an excellent base for exploring Las Cruces as well as a host of interesting destinations within a comfortable day's round trip, e.g.: Deming NM (visit the Rock Hound State Park and Spring Canyon in the Florida Mountains; "Lucy's Pasture" donkey sanctuary; and, in Deming itself, the Luna Mimbres Museum with its extraordinary collection of ancient Mimbres pottery); Silver City (once an Apache camp, then a booming mine town, now a tourist destination and gateway to the Gilka Mountains, Cliff Dwellings, Catwalk); Hatch (for an authentic Mexican chili lunch); Truth or Consequences, Elephant Butte Lake and much more. One could easily spend a month here and not exhaust the sites of interest, and, after a day of touring return to your comfortable "home away from home" for rest and relaxation.

My husband and I traveled from the East Coast and stayed here for 5 days over the Christmas holidays so that we could be with my daughter and grandchildren, who live in the area. We found the condo very classy and were pleased with the many amenities that were available for our use. We loved spending the late evenings by the fireplace watching the DVD's that were provided! I found the bed extremely comfortable and although we ate meals at my daughter's home, it was convenient to have a variety of coffee and teas available for our use! Our overall stay was extremely pleasant!

The listing description and the photos are true and exact. In fact the condo is better in person than the photos on the website. The property was very clean and very well maintained. The manager (Nancy) was extremely helpful. We came in a day early and she was able to assist us, all the while being such a pleasant person to work with. I would highly recommend this property, it is a 5 star. Eat at Andeles just down the road (the best green enchiladas try the egg I was skeptical but LOVED it), the Tucan Mkt on University Street is great, El Sombrero is fantastic, don't miss Caliches for frozen custard, Old Mesilla is a must see, don't waste your time on La Posta their food is mediocre. The Farmers Market on Wednesday and Saturday was great fun. A hike to Dripping Springs was wonderful, great view of the Las Cruces valley. The Coffee Bean just down the road has wonderful baked goods and the best iced tea. Ruby Tuesdays on the other side of town has a clean restaurant with excellent service. Silver Assets in Old Mesilla is a wonderful store if you want good SW jewelry. Many of the art galleries we visited had such friendly people I recommend them all. We found Las Cruces to be a friendly town. Looking forward to next year.

wonderful place! 3 nights we had was way too short to enjoy all the things it offered. particularly, i liked the way we were greeted. we arrived pretty late, but Nancy and her husband still came out to welcome us personally (other rental places i have rented so far just told me where to pick up the key). we also like the location of the place, being close to Old Mesilla and to the highway.

My wife and I stayed here a week while celebrating her birthday in Las Cruces. The apartment is perfectly located within walking distance to excellent restaurants and wine tasting rooms and is only a short car ride (1-2 min) away from Old Mesilla. Nancy met us at the apartment with fresh fruit and mimosa and helped us find our first restaurant. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and quickly felt like home (the bed comforter provided for a cozy nights sleep during the cold Autumn nights). We had an amazing time in Las Cruces, all of which was made possible by Nancy and this apartment. If you visit Las Cruces, this is the place you want to stay.

My husband and I have wanted to visit Southern New Mexico for some time and we were fortunate enough to stay in Carmen's Suite in La Mesilla. We have stayed in other VRBO properties, but we were extremely impressed by the beautifully decorated condo, with every detail personally attended to by the owner. The furnishings, the beautiful art, and the amenities made this one of our favorite places to stay. Overall, Carmen's Suite was the most immaculate we have ever stayed in with the most comfortable bed ever. Our compliments to the owner.

My husband and I visited Las Cruces to explore a new location for a book he is writing. The city was so beautiful and clean. And Carmen's Suite was glorious! We very much enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked, the linens soft and comfortable. And the view of the sun coming up behind the mountains was amazing from the patio. If you aren't already an early riser, set your alarm for that incredible sight. The gated community made us feel safe and allowed us to shop for pottery on the last day and leave our treasures in the back of our truck. We want to thank our gracious host, Nancy and her husband, for all the interesting facts about Las Cruces and giving us new information about places to explore. It was a wonderful experience and Carmen's Suite is where we will stay the next time we are in the area.

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay for our family during my daugher's graduation from NMSU, and we found it at Carmen's Suite. We were also able to rent Sophia's Suite right next door, and both suites provided a perfect and relaxing retreat for our whole family. The location is close to Old Mesilla and NMSU, and both condos are beautifully decorated and have all the comforts of home. Nancy is wonderful to work with, and we highly recommend either suite to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious place to stay.

We just got back from a one week stayIn Carmen's Suite. We found Nancy to be very helpful in setting up our stay. The condo was in the best location possible for visiting Mesilla. It had everything one could need for a comfortable stay, and was beautifully decorated. We had never visited the area and found it easy to navigate from. We often walked to town for shopping and dinner. The mountains were beautiful and we hiked and rode bikes. We toured White Sands, Alamagardo, Cloudcroft, The City of Rocks, New Mexico State University, and the Las Cruces farmers market. The people of the area were very friendly. We would love to return again someday.

The Carmen Suite is very attractive, I think even more so than pictured, perhaps because pictures can't capture ambiance. It has a very nice feel to it, cozy and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in the condo for six weeks in 2009 and because of the owner's thoughtful attention to detail, we had everything we needed, even a nice little sewing kit. I don't hesitate at all in recommending this rental. The location is wonderful with Old Mesilla Plaza just a short walk down the road. Las Cruces itself is a nice town, easy to navigate, easy to get to know. We loved hiking the numerous trails in the Organ Mts. and for anyone who doesn't want a large metropolitan area, the city offers just about everything, only on a smaller scale. Needless to say, we were very pleased.

Our stay in Carmen Suite was all that we expected and more. The condo is well appointed and comfortable. We loved the original art by local artists. Everything needed to cook a gourmet meal was available in the kitchen. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. The location allows easy access to any place in the area. Morning walks in Old Mesilla revealed the interesting history and culture of Mesilla. We hope to return to soak up some sun, culture, history and good food.
