This fully furnished two-bedroom beach level condo at Estrella del Mar is available as a weekly or monthly rental beginning December 1, 2008 (it has not been previously available for rent). Estrella del Mar is a world-class beach and golf resort located just south of Mazatlan, Mexico near the airport.
This condo is on the preferred ground level with easy access to the pool and beach (no stairs or elevators to navigate or long walks to get to and from your condo). Here are some estimated walk times from the condo: pool – 10 seconds; beach – 12 seconds; shuttle stop for golf course – 30 seconds; Fargo, North Dakota – 8 months. The condo is also on the south-facing side of the condo complex which means early morning sun for patio dining and shade during the hotter hours of the day.
The condo was custom decorated by the owner and includes:

Here is a partial list of activities and amenities available at Estrella del Mar:
* Golf. Estrella del Mar is home to one of Mexico's finest golf courses, designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones II. The par 72 course includes an excellent pro shop and superb practice area. This very playable but challenging course includes 5 ocean side greens, well bunkered fairways and greens, and fresh water ponds on 7 holes. The ponds are very convenient for disposal of non-performing clubs. Unlike many top Mexico courses, this course is affordable with twilight play rates (after 1PM) as low as $45 including cart.
* Pacific Ocean and Beach. Estrella del Mar is located 20 kilometers south of Mazatlan on the Pacific Ocean. The Estrella del Mar property includes about 3.5 miles of the finest beach in Mexico. Beach activities include walking, shell collecting, boogie boarding, body surfing, surf fishing, and swimming. Dolphins, whales, and incredible sunsets are common sights.
* Deep sea and fresh water fishing. Mazatlan includes two marinas for access to sailing and deep-sea fishing for marlin, tuna, and dorado. Also, the nearby Lake El Salto offers excellent bass fishing. In fact, El Salto is considered by most to be the #1 trophy bass lake in the world with a lake record of eighteen and one half pounds.
* Turtle Sanctuary. The beach is front of Estrella del Mar is a protected turtle sanctuary and a turtle research station is maintained on the site. If you visit Estrella in the fall you can assist in the collection of turtle eggs and the release of hatchlings after incubation. As a protected sanctuary, noisy ATVs are prohibited on the beach.
* Bird watching. You can see numerous species of birds on the property. In addition to the unique indigenous species, many North American species winter in Mexico. Also, Estrella del Mar is on the northern boundary of a large estuary that runs south all the way to Puerto Vallarta and contains many waterfowl and shorebirds (the roseate spoonbill is my favorite).
* Resort. Estrella del Mar is a fantastic resort facility complete with pool, golf, hotel, restaurant, excercise facility, spa, etc. Bikes and boogey boards are available for rent. Yoga, stretching, water aerobic classes are free. Horseback riding and kayaks for rent are available at nearby Stone Island. For more information, see Estrella del Mar Resort.
* Climate. Estrella del Mar is located in the Tropic of Cancer. The winter months are sunny and warm and the summer months are not too hot.
* Mazatlan. Mazatlan has a rich, diverse, and unique history and combines elements of old Mexico with the amenities of a modern Pacific Coast beach resort city. Mazatlan provides great shopping, many nightclubs and restaurants, and the 2nd largest mardi gras party in the world.
Services available at Estrella del Mar include:
* Mini-mart and clubhouse restaurant.
* Free shuttle service between the condo, golf course clubhouse, mini-mart, restaurant, and tennis courts (although the tennis courts are just a short walk).
* Airport pickup and delivery. Car rentals also available at the airport.
* Shuttle service to and from downtown Mazatlan at regular interval during the day. Once in Mazatlan, it easy to get around using the unique and abundant pulmonias (a cross between a golf cart and a jeep).
* If you want to cook your own meals, grocery pickup and delivery service is available (or you can get your own while in Mazatlan).
* Daily maid service (for an additional fee).
Estrella del Mar is the best kept secret in Mexico for relaxation, golf, exercise, or adventure. If you come, plan to stay for a while.

Prior to buying our condo at Estrella del Mar we owned a condo in Bahio Kino in Sonora, Mexico. We loved Kino but we wanted a place more accessible by air from the U.S., had world class golf and still provided immediate access to the ocean and beach. We found the perfect spot at Estrella del Mar.

Tom and Linda Turner. Our permanent residence is in Colorado but we have owned property in Mexico for 15 years. Linda is a Colorado native and I have lived in Colorado for almost 40 years. Since we both are now retired we are either traveling throughout the western U.S. and Mexico or at home in Colorado working with horses, gardening, golfing, fishing, or hiking or recovering from all this activity.

My husband and I had the chance to excape and enjoy this condo in December 2010. A great excape from winter! Very quiet, very safe, excellent assistance and service from the hotel too. The trip from Colorado was quick and easy and Estrella picked us up at the airport. We spent a lot of time at the turtle sancturary and were excited when we got to help release over 200 of the little ones. Most days we were the only ones on the long beach. While we are not golfers, we did make use of the course for a great place to walk each morning. I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a nice place to rent or own!
Recommended for:People with disabilities, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We appreciated the opportunity to stay in your lovely condo on the beach at Estrella Del Mar. What a great location on the first floor and wonderful patio. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. EDM was good to work with and such nice people. We are impressed with the quality of the grounds, condos, golf course, Clubhouse restaurant, security, people, location, drinking water, and the quiet beauty. We loved the courtyard and pool. We enjoyed our relaxing time of walking the beach, swimming, yoga classes, reading, soaking up some sun. We look forward to golfing next time. It's a great course and fantastic location. The sunsets were gorgeous from the beach, pool, or our patio. A highlight for us was seeing a female sea turtle digging a nest the first night we arrived. Over all we had a terrific time, would recommend it to friends, and can't wait to return. Thank you!
