From the moment we drove down the canopy covered driveway that descended toward the cabin, we knew we had made the right choice to spend our vacation here. Wow, what a wonderful, peaceful, enchanting place! While my husband fished and canoed around the lake, I wandered with my little doxie around the forest taking pictures of fascinating mushrooms. The birds, especially the woodpeckers, were many and sang so happily. The view of the lake from the cabin porch and living room was lovely. At night, the darkness was incredible and the stars were unbelievable. Although we did get out to eat and shop, I didn't want to leave the place. It was too nice and quiet and lovely. The canoe was rented from Mayo Park which is only a few minute drive away. I did go out on the lake and it was heaven. Watching an eagle dive and come up with a fish in its talons was breathtaking. How fortunate I was to witness that. Oh yes, we will be back.

I did not get to stay here but did go to see the place as we were planning our vow renewal ceremony at this beautiful cabin. We had to cancel due to health problems in the family and the owners were very thoughtful and caring. We drove out to Mayo Lake and the property is immaculate, beautiful and oh so secluded. I will re-schedule my stay in 2011. Rent this property.....you will not be disappointed.

As you read some of these reviews from the printed guestbooks in the cabin that we quote below, please do not think that Kathy & I are "full of ourselves" & on some sort of ego trip. Truly, it 'bout killed us building this cabin, but we are now so thankful we persisted thru the challenges. We humbly share these reviews with you. Sincerely, Arch & Kathy

"Got up every morning & took our coffee and sat by the lake. We saw an eagle in the distance out over the water on our last day. It was amazing. I hate to leave this 'peace' of heaven tomorrow & head on back to the 'rat race'. We will return again, if we do not decide to move to this area. Love all the cabin's little touches." Linda & Rob

As I sit on the porch the day before we leave, I can't remember a more relaxing soccer tournament! We are usually cramped in hotel rooms. This was just wonderful. We could not get the girls out of the lake they had so much fun. Plus, a quiet spot could always be found for us adults!

"What a perfect birthday weekend!! Cornerstone Cabin was just what the doctor ordered--peaceful and very quiet. We felt like we had left the crazy, hectic world behind. The chorus of birds woke us up each morning and sang to us all day long!! Thanks for the opportunity to relax in such a glorious sanctuary."

"What a wonderful week our family had at your cabin. I've dreamed of spending Christmas with our children & grandchildren in a cabin in the woods for many years. This was more than I could've ever dreamed of. We hope to meet you one day to hear the stories about the construction of this awesome cabin. Thank you!"

"It goes without saying your house is absolutely a work of art. From the notched woodwork to the stone fireplace to the teacup in the front yard. The lake has a personality all its own--quiet one minute, windy and rugged the next. We loved the deer, beaver, hummingbirds, & fish critters. Hope all enjoy your incredible home as much as we did." "To say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement! The water is clear & cool & the 'kids' (adults included) had a ball, jumping, floating, & fishing. The 'guys' were able to go golfing two days, which made their week--and ours! We also caught a Durham (Bulls) baseball game, & ironically they were playing a Pa team. The one word that comes to mind is peaceful, outside by the lake watching the sunset. With heartfelt thanks, The Smiths"
