  I rented this lake house for a week to stay with two other families on the lake. Lots of bedrooms, very short distance to everything great in the area; Schlitterbaun, the Comal and Guadalupe, downtown Gruene, the Gristmill and all kinds of fun!! The owner answered every question I had quickly., Every thing we needed was provided. The owner came by twice help me with a minor issue and was very attentive. I would recommend this to others! Absolutely beautiful sunsets and sunrises from two different porches and the deck, which look just like the pictures!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

  The "Lake Haus" was A++ in every way...from it's location on Lake Dunlap to the cleanliness of the house and yard! The owner was a pleasure to talk with and very accommodating with our groups requests. We had a group of 16 adults stay for the weekend and we had plenty of room to spare. Schlitterban and the Comal River was less than 15 minutes away from the house, but the majority of our time was spent on the lake and the awesome surroundings. Our group will definitely stay at the Lake Haus again!!

  We stayed at the Lake Haus the first weekend after school let out for the summer, and everybody had a great time. The property is certainly in a great location with quick access to the neat little town of Gruene and only 30-45 minutes to San Antonio and Sea World. The lake is fairly calm and clean, being at the south end of the Guadalupe. We had expected to see some tubers, but I guess they don't get that far. We bought our own cheapie tubes at Buc-Ees (you'll see it on the highway...can't miss it) and they worked great for just floating around. The house itself slept our group of 9 fairly comfortably (two teens slept on an air mattress). We didn't utilize the bunk house, but it looks like you can probably fit quite a few more people in there. The house was clean and comfortable during our stay. The only issues we ran into were the dishwasher being out of commission that weekend and the stove being a little tricky to use, but we had only planned on cooking breakfast anyway...taking advantage of the many great restaurants in the area...Check out Adobe Verde in Gruene for some great Mexican! I took a star off for the issues with the stove/dishwasher and because Wi-Fi was advertised as being available, but wasn't. Be sure to ask about it if it's something you truly need. Our kids complained, but I figured it wasn't a bad idea for them to disconnect for a bit anyway.

  A group of my friends recently spent a long weekend at this lake house and had a wonderful time. There were 14 of us staying and had plenty of beds to sleep, including the bunk house. It was clean and well stocked (kitchen, bathroom towels, sheets). It had a nice yard and was right on the lake with a good dock. Great location. Owner was very easy to work with. I would definitely come back and would recommend this house to others.

  This house was GREAT!! We had a total of 15 people with plenty of space. excellent location and home owner was really helpful. i would absolutely recommend this house to anyone that is interested in hosting any kind of party/reunion. If i am ever looking to stay in New Braunfels again this will be my first choice.

• Amazing!

  We had seven adults stay at the Lake Haus and had an amazing time (and plenty of room). The house is very charming, but the view is what really made our trip. Lake Dunlap is so beautiful and peaceful. We had a great time swimming in the lake, drinking coffee on the deck, and enjoyed being on the water. We would definitely stay again!

  Great for kids and dogs. Nice fenced in yard with river water pump, so kids could play in sprinkler. House wasn't as clean as I would have expected but overall it was a great family vacation. Agree with prior review, AC doesn't quite keep up, but we were not really uncomfortable and we were in the middle of a Texas heat wave!! Swimming off the dock was great. VERY close to Schlitterbahn and all things in New Braunfels!!! We had 9 adults and 3 small children... Would have been tight for 14-16 adults.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.

  Although in a great location right off 35 and close to many restaurants and stores, this house is in need of some serious upgrades if the owner expects to keep renting it out. The mattresses were bouncy and terrible, the pull-out couch was twisted and mangled, the bunkbeds were creaky and shaky, and the bunkhouse reeked of mildew. The worst part of all was the squeaky MICE under the sink. We first noticed the MICE when they got into some of the food on the counter. Our second encounter with the MICE was when they were squeaking so loudly in the kitchen that we had to move our conversation outside to the porch, which was infested with wasps. It was bad. No one slept well, and no one relaxed the whole weekend. I would not rent this house again.

  Owner response: Thanks for the input as I have been unaware of most of these issues. The mattresses have been updated and the sleeper sofa has been repaired. I had an exterminator out regarding the mice issue & have received no complaints since. The bunkhouse was checked for mildew with none found or even the smell of it. I have had 18 different parties stay at the Lake Haus this year & many more over the previous 4 years & this was the first time many of these items were brought to my attention. It is my intention & number 1 priority to make everyones stay as enjoyable as possible.

  Had a blast. The a/c couldnt stay up with the hot weather. Took longer to get our deposite back then we were told.

  Owner response: The a/c unit was checked & found to be working properly. It has been extremely hot this summer with temps consistently reaching 100+ degrees. There is also an additional portable a/c unit in the main living area that helps. Large groups that are in & out of the house as well as cooking in the kitchen place a strain the a/c units.
