Welcome to our newly constructed and professionally decorated wonderful mountain retreat, complete with a fabulously furnished great room, fireplace, large 50 inch screen TV and gourmet kitchen equipped with everything a cook needs to entertain up to 15 guests. Enjoy a glass of wine from the loft's wet bar while playing pool and poker, keeping tabs on the televised game below as the kids watch their own TV in the lodgepole pine bunk room. In the summer enjoy cooking an outdoor meal on the back deck while others relax in the hot tub or hammock nearby. The kids can play on the large rocks with a view of forest trees. Indoors, you can use the Amish solid cherry dining table which seats up to 10, and the island bar with stools. This home is made for relaxation and enjoyment! The chess/checker game table, puzzles, and dominoes ensure everyone has a good time. For those who have to work, wifi is throughout the house.
Within the 3300 square feet are 5 bedrooms with 2 master suites. The downstairs master includes an Eastern king and queen bed, full bookcase, large whirlpool tub and separate shower, 2 sinks, and a walk in closet. The upstairs master is tucked away from the rest of the house and has it's own fireplace with 2 comfy chairs, Cal King bed, walk in closet, slate shower and 2 sinks. There are 2 bunk bed rooms with a queen over a long twin and a double over a twin, plus a beautiful queen bedroom with a private deck next to a bathroom with a shower over tub and 2 sinks.
Our home is on a quiet, tertiary street with little to no traffic in the golf course area of Tahoe Donner. It is 5 minutes from highway 80 and 30 minutes from the Reno airport, and best of all, 15 to 20 minutes from all the major ski resorts including Squaw, Alpine, Boreal, Northstar, and Sugarbowl. The Tahoe Donner HOA includes miles of cross country ski trails through the Euer Valley, an 18 hole golf course, private beach and marina on Donner Lake, sledding park, driving range, 2 full service rec centers with family pools and saunas, ski slope, playground, tennis and bocce ball courts, etc. There is a deli, pizza place, and restaurant nearby. The town of Truckee also offers a great place to shop for clothes, crafts and food.
Whether you want to get out and explore all the outdoor activities, or sit with a good book and enjoy the mountain decor, we hope you will enjoy the ambience and restfulness of our retreat!

My husband, kids, sister and her huband and two kids and my widowed mom spent 2 weeks here in August. We researched a number of large homes in Tahoe Donner and settled on this. It worked out very well, especially with a full master on each floor. The kitchen could get a little tight with more than two people working but it was fine. The house was well equipped. We put a lot of the owner's many family photos away to protect them from toddlers and make space for our own things. The towels were a little on the worn out side but they served their purpose and we managed. We had a housekeeper come in twice a week to clean and that worked out well. The kids enjoyed the back yard with big rocks and abundant pine cones. This works well for large groups. We met the owners while there and they are a lovely family and very helpful.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We have added new plush towels instead of the decorator thin ones and will add more kitchen photos as it is quite spacious, but does have an island. Many of the photos have been put away as well. The guests were wonderful and we enjoyed having them.

We just spent a wonderful weekend at this "cabin" in the mountains. Lots of space, but feels comfortable and cozy at the same time. The only problem is after a day of playing in the snow, a good meal, a soak in the hot tub and then settling down in front of the fire in of those couches you won't want to get up again.Did you find this review helpful? These pictures just don't do this cabin justice! We've stayed here multiple times and can't say enough about it. The rooms are huge -- the 2 master suites are each bigger than the one at our home. It's well located to everything in Tahoe Donner and of course the slopes. It spaciously sleeps 15 with a well stocked kitchen. The extras like a mud room, hot tub, deck, pool table, etc make it a great place to stay. We will be there again this year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
