Empire beach is an easy two minute drive from the house and has ample parking. Voted one of the best beaches in Michigan, this is every family's dream location. Renovated in 2007, this public beach has new bathroom facilities, basketball court and children's playground with the latest in swing sets and jungle-gyms. There is also a boat launch for either South Bar Lake or Lake Michigan.
Located in the heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, this area offers spectacular hiking and sight-seeing opportunities (including a trail-head directly across the street) as well as world class golf, kayaking, fishing, kiteboarding and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Just a short drive to Interlochen Center for the Arts make is possible to take in some first rate live music. For those who prefer a bit of city life, Traverse City has a surprising diversity of activities and cultural events such as the ever-popular cherry and film festivals.

A great place for all of Northern Michigan fun

We've been here twice, each time with another couple. There's plenty of room and privacy, even in the loft. The kitchen is right there by the dining room, making meals super easy. The furniture in the living room is comfortable and relaxing. But the best feature of this house is the front deck! Large enough for everyone who's there, a, great place to BBQ, SPECTACULAR views and the sunsets, well, you just can't get better than watching and seeing that incredible "green splash". Only a short drive from great golf (Arcadia Bluffs, The Bear, Manitou Dunes), Sleeping Bear Dunes, and all of the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula wineries, it's a great place to come back to at the end of the day and crack open one of your new purchases! We'll keep coming back!

My wife and I stayed here with another couple and we loved the house!! The front deck is wonderful!! The location of the house is literally a 2 minute drive to the beach and the coffee shop and other restaurants are right down the road. The house was larger than I was expecting and has all the amenities you need. The house is very private and located in an old orchard. We loved it and would stay here again!
