Everything we hoped for! In March my parents, husband and I stayed here anticipating the arrival of our soldier's return from deployment. We loved the nautical theme, especially, since we were there for a Homecoming celebration. We used the gas grill, which was a great amenity! Our intention was to fix him some great "home cooking" when he arrived. I loved the china they had there! It was Totally Today "Coastal Lighthouse" pattern. Our comforters were Nautica brand too! So needless to say, the quality of the furnishings was a plus! It's a quick walk to the beach! There were men kite boarding, which was really neat to watch and a first for us. The location is right next to the Fort Story entrance. Of course, we went up in the lighthouse, also a first! While we were there, our microwave quit working. We reported it and that very night the owner was there replacing it! Wow, we were so impressed by the quick response. Okay, I get teary when I think about this and now as I write it. I won't give any specifics, as I'm sure this was above and beyond, what any owner has ever done for their tenants, but he truly touched our family in a special way! His graciousness and kindness will never be forgotten. He has a "patriotic heart!" Thank you again, Sir! God Bless America!

Just booked again for 2012
Just booked again for 2012
My family of 5 stayed here in 2011 and after reviewing all other options just reserved a week in 2012. The vacation rental is clean and neat and kept up by the owner. It is a short walk to the beach and there are no streets to cross with my little ones. The gas grills were top quality which allowed us to eat in for some of the nights. In general, this property offered us all of the comforts at home at an affordable price. We look forward to returning this summer.

We stayed in this unit the end of July. The unit itself was great, well furnished, clean, and everything that the write up stated. However, dealing with the rental agency was another matter. The dryer in the unit quit on Monday evening. We called first thing Tues. morning to report it. After being asked all the questions like did we check the circuit brokers etc, which we had done. We were told they would get back to us. We did not hear from the agency until Wed. evening. They finally had someone come and look at the dryer on Thurs. evening and finally replaced the dryer on Fri. I know appliances break but the time frame of these events were not acceptable. We also had a hard time in general getting the realitor to return phone calls, or answer e-mails. We also understood that the deposit would be returned shortly after we checked out. I called after 6 weeks and sent an e-mail. Did not get a reply so several days later I called again and finally talked to a person, who said they would check and call me back. She did and said the check was in the mail. The check was dated the day after I called. I question if I would rent another unit if they used the same rental agency,.

Owner response: Agree with all said. Although three days is reasonable to evaluate (whether to repair or replace) and ultimately replace the dryer, I wish it could have been done a day or two sooner.
My family met my mom & her fiance in VA beach and we all stayed in this unit together. It was large enough to accommodate a family of 6 + a family of 3, and was very well maintained and furnished. They have a shed for each unit in the back with boogie boards, toys, chairs, and a cart to lug it all to the beach with you. The beach is close to the house and not at all crowded. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful beach vacation -- we'd love to stay here again!

Cozy and close to the beach
Cozy and close to the beach
My family of 6 spent a week in the front unit. The cost was very reasonable and the place was clean and neat. Chairs, boogie boards and a cart to get to the beach were provided. The new barbecue grill was easy to use. The boardwalk was much closer to this vacation rental than the home we used to rent in Sandbridge. We loved biking on the boardwalk and even took a hike in the state park via 64th Street one morning. There is also a lighthouse you can visit in the nearby Ft. Story. Amos M. Chicago, IL

I rented this place with 7 of my friends. It was a great experience. They have a fully stocked shed with chairs, umbrellas, a beach cart, boogie boards - everything we needed and wanted. They also have a cute backyard with picnic tables and chairs. Technically only the back unit has access, but we were nice and shared with our neighbors. The unit was plenty big for the 8 of us and was clean and well stocked. It's just a short walk to the beach access at the end of the block. The property manager was easy to work with and we got our security back one week after we returned home - as promised. We would return to this place and highly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed for a week during the summer of 2008. The units were beautiful, well furnished, totally clean and fully maintained. We loved its location just steps from the gorgeous sunny beach. We had an excellent stay and can highly recommend it without qualification.
