This is our personal residence. Please note THIS IS OUR HOME. We enjoy keeping it very clean and well-maintained and are willing to rent it to the right family or group several times a year for short homestays.
Stately 10-year-old executive residence available for large families and groups. This historically-designed 5,000 sq. ft. Georgian home has three full floors (excluding the 4th floor which is reserved for use by our AuPair, who may need access during your stay).
PLEASE NOTE: Our AuPair may be present but not intrusive during your stay.
The main level features a spacious and inviting family room with a gas fireplace, powder room and wet bar with mini-fridge and ice machine next to family room, breakfast room, gourmet kitchen with GE Monogram stove and granite counters, beautiful formal living and dining rooms, and incredible moldings and lighting throughout. The private office is decorated in Asian-inspired theme. The family room is home to our 1941 Steinway Model L (5'10") concert grand piano.
On the 2nd floor, the 20'x40' MBR suite (king sleigh bed - sleeps 2-3) has a sitting area, separate dressing area, and well-appointed bath with double sinks and jacuzzi tub. A guest room (three-quarter antique bed - sleeps 2) has a private bath. The Jack-n-Jill bedrooms [full and twin beds (sleeps 2-3), pop-up trundle bed (sleeps 2), and toddler Step2 fire truck bed] share a bath, this floor also has the laundry room. The reading nook contains a daybed. The lower level contains the 5th bedroom (queen four-poster bed - sleeps 2) and private bath, and a large rec room (two full-size futon sleeps 4). A portable crib is also available.
In all, there are six double or larger beds or futons, and four twins. Mattresses are new in 2010-2011 and are made of memory foam. Visitors have mentioned that they had the best sleep in years!
Cat-5 wiring throughout. 3 Verizon Fios TVs including in MBR, secured wireless internet access via Verizon FIOS, unlimited long-distance calling within the USA and Canada. Home security system. We can refer for housekeeping services and babysitting, including providers experienced with special needs.
Unbeatable location: 1 light /10 minutes to D.C., 3 miles/10 minutes to Ballston Mall and metro, 2.5 miles/8 minutes to West Falls Church metro, bus to metro is 1/2 block away. Prestigious residential neighborhood of older homes and mature trees near Washington Golf & Country Club. We are 8 minutes drive from Upton Hill Regional Park & Outdoor Pool Complex (link below), which is a great place to stay cool in the summer.
This amazing home is available for $695/night. Minimum 3 nights rental. Cleaning fee, extra per person fee above 12, and refundable security deposit additional.
While our home accomodates large groups, please note that this is a residential neighborhood; we ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum after 9 p.m. at all times, and before 8 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends.
References, security deposit, lease contract, and credit check required. All occupants and their ages must be listed on lease. Absolutely no smoking.

2012: $695/night (3-night minimum) for up to 12 guests. $300 cleaning fee.
6/23/2012-9/3/2012: $595/night (3-night minimum). July 4th requires 7 nights stay.
Summer Special: 10% off stay of 7 nights or more (excludes 4th of July week)
$25/pp/night additional for groups with more than 12 occupants (exception basis)
$500 refundable security deposit and 50% rental deposit required at booking.
Balance due 30 days before arrival.
E-Checks, or AmEx/Visa/MC/Discover with a 3% surcharge (this is the cost to us).
Security deposit released within 14 days of checkout upon clear final inspection.

This is our primary residence. It is close to all the major DC landmarks, shopping areas, and metro, but is set in a quiet residential neighborhood of single family homes on larger lots and mature trees.

I could not have asked for a better place for us to stay during our recent vacation to Washington DC. We had 10 of us staying in this home and there was plenty of room. It was extremely comfortable for the adults and appropriate for even our toddlers. I liked especially that it was located in a safe, peaceful neighborhood but was still close to the Washington DC attractions. The owner was very gracious and went well out of her way to accommodate us. She also provided us with plenty of ideas for activities in the area. We rarely saw the au pair who lives on the top floor. I strongly recommend this property.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Very nicely decorated home with full kitchen and dining area, indoor laundry, high speed internet access is very helpful, plenty of street parking, master bedroom and master bathroom spacious, plenty of beds for our party of twelve. Lots of stairs keeps elderly folks limited, but there's a bedroom on the same floor as the kitchen and dining areas. Have to climb outside front steps to get to the front door. Air conditioning on top level where the heat rises didn't keep up during a recent D. C. heatwave...but ceiling fans helped a lot. Plenty of hot water for everyone to shower comfortably. Home is less than ten minutes to two metro stations...less then five minutes to grocery shopping and nearby gasoline stations and restaurants like pizza, etc. Not as far out of the D. C. area as it might seem...major shopping mall ten miles away. Take a GPS like Garmen to help you get around by car. Tenant in the basement bedroom with a separate entrance from ours was hardly noticeable, though we did meet once. We would recommend this home for another visit to D.C.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

Gracious and comfortable residence. Very spacious. Lovely yard and porch. Exquisitely clean and well cared for property. Owners a delight to work with. Access to DC easy by car or metro. Could not have been better.
