This lovely, artist-designed villa has wide-open proportions. neutral tomes, and crafted wooden details. It is found on a remote ocean beach on the Pacific coastline, known as the Mexican Riviera.

The beach south of Casa Bertha affords miles of unspoiled virgin beach lined by mature coconut trees and indigenous vegetation. Casa Bertha fronts the continuation of the same beach.

Casa Bertha is home to a sea turtle recovery project, supporting nesting sea turtles and hatchlings. During hatching season hundreds of baby turtles can be born in a single day. Guests are invited to participate if they so choose. A percentage of rental income is diverted to our turtle project.

Casa Bertha is the right choice for those who want to reconnect with the natural world, to return to an experience of oneness with nature that is absent from our daily lives. Sea, sky, wildlife, the movements from day to night and back again, all will heal the spirit. Casa Bertha is run on environmental principles.

Casa Bertha is approximately a 20 minute drive from Ixtapa, a modern beach resort, or a 30 minute drive from the small, but relatively well known resort located in the fishing village of Zihuatanejo. The villa is only about 10 minutes from the new beach community of Troncones. Between all of these nearby locations, you will find everything you need in the way of restaurants, entertainment and shopping.

The villa has three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each bedroom has a king or queen size bed. The dining and living rooms are large and open to magnificent views of the ocean.

The verandahs are lined with hammocks for relaxing, reading and gazing out to the sea. There is a constant breeze from the sea, which keeps the villa a comfortable temperature even on the hottest days.

The kitchen is a fully equipped, large eat in kitchen. The villa has the look and feel of a hacienda with its large rooms and very high ceilings. It’s a wonderful place for a get together with family, friends or a perfect private hideaway for a romantic honeymoon.

The staff has been with the house for years. Our cook, Guille, will prepare for you wonderful local specialties from natural ingredients. Our watchman, Benito, is on the premises to ensure your security.

There will be a manager to greet you at the airport on arrival. They can help you with car rental if needed and help with stocking the villa with food and drinks. You can make arrangements with the manager for restocking if you choose not to do your own shopping. The staff can also help you buy some fresh seafood directly from the local fisherman who will come by with their daily catch.

There is a cell phone and a handbook with maps and telephone directory at the villa for your convenience.
