The Chateau gives you the chance to get away in style to the mountains of North Carolina with over 6000 square feet of living area on 60 acres of private land for less per night than it would cost you to get just two hotel rooms in town! You can enjoy this from the privacy of your back porch or from your third story tower! This property has everything you and your guests need in true estate quality and finishes. Black Mountain, North Carolina, known as the 'front porch' of western North Carolina (just drive by the Chamber of Commerce office on East State Street to its larger-than-life front-porch rocker!). Black Mountain is known for its small town atmosphere, one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants ranging from barbeque to gourmet. And its year-round calendar of cultural and civic events keeps both visitors and residents active. Black Mountain, North Carolina, is encompassed by the mountains, much of which are protected lands, and there there are retreat sites owned by several denominational churches (nearby is The Billy Graham Training Center at Cove).

We had a great time at Chateau De Vue in early November 2012. The house is in a beautiful setting with great views, plenty of room and a game room to entertain the teenagers. You can definitely see the attention to detail the owners have put into the decorating and furnishings (they have great taste). Waking up to the views of the mountains while being close enough to visit Ashville and the quaint town of Black Mountain provided many choices for activities in the area. In short: if you are looking for a quiet, wonderful place with plenty of room: go there as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We were looking for a private location for our intimate mountain wedding and this home far exceeded our expectations. I was nervous about booking something for my wedding without seeing it first, but the detailed description and Jacey's prompt and thorough responses to any additional questions put me at ease. The home was exactly as described/pictured on the site. The views were amazing (even with bad weather at times!) and the house was spectacular. There were eight people staying in the house and there was plenty of space. The game room was great for keeping the kids (and men) busy. It was hard to part with the house at the end of our stay (knowing that Italy was my next stop was the only motivating factor in leaving!) We hope to be able to stay at the Chateau again in the future. Thank you, Matt & Jacey, for making our wedding day dreams come true!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

This house is beautifully decorated and extremely unique. Our entire family enjoyed staying here while we celebrated my brother's wedding in Asheville. Many wonderful memories were made at Chateau de Vue. It really feels like a castle! The views are stunning and the house is very secluded. It makes you feel like royalty to stay here. A very memorable trip. We will be back! The owners are very kind and ensure that you enjoy your stay. The house is equipped with everything you could need.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My family and I (13 in all) had a good experience both at the residence and the surrounding attractions. Lots of mountain climing to view water falls; Biltmore; caverns; gem mining, etc. Best of all - no rain during our stay! Wonderful views with gorgeous sunsets. Only drawback was the dizzying roads from the residence to anywhere. Roads were narrow and winding all over. We had adults, teens and young children. Everyone found things to do and we were able to do some things as a complete family that all enjoyed. Black Mountain, the closest town to the residence, is a quaint town with good restaurants and nice novelty stores. The Dripolator Coffeehouse is better than Starbucks and has wireless Internet service plus a PC w/printer. The Blue Ridge Parkway was a nice (long) drive with lots of pulloff areas to observe the outstanding scenery. Drove all the way from Linnville Falls to Asheville - too long of a drive on the narrow, but well maintained, road.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband hosted my 40th birthday getaway at the Chateau which included 12 adults. The Chateau is simply FABULOUS! The owners were very responsive, easy to work with and very helpful and informative with tidbits about the area (not that you want to leave once you are there). October was a great time to be there with the Fall foliage. We did not experience one 'hiccup' in our stay. The place was clean and stocked with most essentials. If you opt NOT to do the linen service, remember to bring hand towels for the bathrooms. The house had toilet paper, paper towels, aluminum foil, cleaning supplies, etc.. We never found firewood for the firepit but it gave the men a good excuse to be 'mountain men' and use the axe to build us a fire! The rec room is perfect with darts, pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, games, etc.. The upstairs kitchen was very convenient to keep 'rec drinks' cold. The air mattress in the closet is a Twin from what we could tell. There are extra blankets in a closet if needed. We picked up food from The Colorful Palate for dinner one night and it was AMAZING! We had an experienced home builder in our group and he was in 'awe' the entire weekend..there was not one detail that was missed in the construction of this castle! The floors, granite, light fixtures, fans, showers, kitchen appliances, front doors, etc... it was all amazing! We never figured out the surround sound system for the Plasma TV but looks like speakers are in place for surround sound. The house is constructed so the Castle Loft can hear the 'chatter' from the kitchen. So, if you have guests headed to bed early in that room...ear plugs are great to throw in! We will be back!!!! We are ALL still talking about how wonderful it was...you will not be disappointed! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend...just leave us a week/weekend every October! Thank you!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Staying at this Black Mountain Castle was quite an experience. The views are simply breath-taking and numerous from all parts of the house and the house itself is phenomenal. Our group of 15 had more than enough room to relax and enjoy a life of luxury. The master bedroom and bath is like something out of a movie...it is magnificent! The professional kitchen was also fantastic with a large gas stove and cool kitchen gadgets. All of the bedrooms have something unique about them which suites all guests. The property itself is also vast and a blast to explore...bring your hiking shoes. The owners are extremely accommodating, friendly and on the ball. Our only complaints were of poor water pressure for a short time (which could have been caused by a power outage and was taken care of immediately by the owners) and the sound acoustics in the house. Sound travels from the ground level to other areas of the house fairly easily even with the volume low. This was a bit of a problem for the little ones because they went to bed earlier than the rest of us. We also had to deal with quite a few bugs (flies and ants.) A screen would work great on the downstairs sliders and on other doors and windows. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we will definitely consider re-visiting the "Chateu" in the near future. I already miss it...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time staying at your place and exploring the surroundings. We spent time enjoying the property from the dungeon to the fire pit to the trails around the house. We also made it to Chimney Rock, had lunch on the outside porch of an Italian restaurant at Lake Lure, did some mountain bike riding at Heartbreak Ridge and even had a chance to enjoy a meal on the porch at the Straight Away Cafe. Just wanted to say thank you again for the awesome experience. Your directions and information packet were very well done and helpful. We've told several friends about the Chateau de Vue that may be interested in contacting you about future stays. We also hope to visit again and develop many more great memories and experiences. Thanks again and we're planning to stay in touch.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
