Are you tired of playing the guessing game as to what your vacation home is actually going to look like or have you heard horror stories about seeing one listing and showing up to something completely different (or worse, experienced it)? Are you tired of renting a property and arriving to find that the rooms are bland, the furniture is cheap, and there aren’t even the basic necessities like pots and pans in the house? Lastly, are you tired of inquiring to a Vacation Rental by ‘Owner’ and getting automated responses from a rental company who says ‘that one isn’t available’ but they offer you out a whole bunch of other ‘rental mill’ properties?
Well, we are none of the above, and more importantly we respect you as being the person in charge of giving your friends and family a wonderful experience in the mountains. Like yourself, we’re real people and we’re proud to offer you our home (exactly as represented!) in the mountains - the Chateau de Vue - along with all of the estate-quality accommodations and finishes that you deserve in a luxury vacation home.

The Chateau gives you the chance to get away in style to the mountains of North Carolina with over 6000 square feet of living area on 60 acres of private land for less per night than it would cost you to get just two hotel rooms in town! The views are truly phenomenal, not just 'long range', but a full 180 degree panoramic during the day and then at night not only are the stars brilliant, but the back-lit mountains simply wonderful! You can enjoy this from the privacy of your back porch or from your third story tower! This property has everything you and your guests need in true estate quality and finishes. There is plenty of private land to tromp around on and hike or camp. There is also plenty of parking (which in the mountains can be a very hard thing to come by) and plenty of space to either come together for family fun or split up and pursue your own activities. Indoors as well, there are plenty of places for everyone to be in the same room- the huge great room with a large semi-circle couch and chairs, the formal dining room with a table that seats 10 comfortably, or the 1200 square foot Recreation room.

There are five distinct bedroom suites each with a private full bath and a unique theme. These are not hotel rooms; they are large, decorated, well appointed rooms that you can escape to when you’re ready to relax on your own or settle down for the night. Each of the rooms provides a unique ‘experience’, be it the Victorian Room with its Juliet Balcony and 1890’s Victorian claw-foot tub; the Mountain Room with a laurel branch ceiling and a recessed ‘rain tile’ shower; or perhaps you will have the Master Suite consisting of 1200 square feet, a truly decadent bathroom and a sitting room with two wicker lounge chairs overlooking the mountains. No matter where you are staying in the Chateau, you have something uniquely yours and memories that you can tell in stories for years to come.

The main gathering spaces of the Chateau are equally ordained with two full service kitchens (the main having all Viking appliances), a 60 inch plasma TV in great room with DirectTV & DVD player, a huge recreation room stocked with a full-size pool table, dartboard, hurricane foosball table, 1000 chip poker set, shuffleboard table, ping-pong table, board games, 42" LCD as well as a 32" plasma TV dedicated for video games (bring your own system) or DVDs. Like the bedroom suites each main room contains comfortable high-end furniture and decorations for you to relax on or entertain in.

The Chateau rests on a peaceful and quiet mountaintop location with one of the best drives in Western NC as your approach. If you are looking for simple relaxation and a beautiful view, this is the place. You’re still close to town and in a relatively centralized location to go in different directions and explore or tour.

The Chateau’s Sleeping Layout is as follows: (Sleeps 14 in beds)
- Master Bedroom (1st floor): King TempurPedic, private bath (Sleeps two).
- Mountain Suite: Queen TempurPedic, private bath (Sleeps two).
- Castle Loft: Queen bed, bunk bed (2 singles), private bath (great for a family, sleeps four).
- Victorian Suite: Queen bed, private bath (truly fit for a Queen, sleeps two).
- The "Dungeon" (Rec Room) converts to a Suite with private bath, two twins and a full size futon (Great for groups of kids/teens since they can play until they fall asleep! Sleeps three to four in beds).

Great Place for a girls weekend! Awesome house!

We stayed in this house two years ago in February. There was lots of snow on the ground and it was cold, but we had so much fun we hardly even went outside! The house had everything you could want and more!

40th Birthday Getaway

Guest: Amy, Brian and family (Holly Springs, NC)
Date of Stay: 10/21/11 Review Submitted: 10/26/11

My husband hosted my 40th birthday getaway at the Chateau which included 12 adults. The Chateau is simply FABULOUS! The owners were very responsive, easy to work with and very helpful and informative with tidbits about the area (not that you want to leave once you are there). October was a great time to be there with the Fall foliage. We did not experience one 'hiccup' in our stay. The place was clean and stocked with most essentials. If you opt NOT to do the linen service, remember to bring hand towels for the bathrooms. The house had toilet paper, paper towels, aluminum foil, cleaning supplies, etc.. We never found firewood for the firepit but it gave the men a good excuse to be 'mountain men' and use the axe to build us a fire! The rec room is perfect with darts, pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, games, etc.. The upstairs kitchen was very convenient to keep 'rec drinks' cold. The air mattress in the closet is a Twin from what we could tell. There are extra blankets in a closet if needed. We picked up food from The Colorful Palate for dinner one night and it was AMAZING! We had an experienced home builder in our group and he was in 'awe' the entire weekend..there was not one detail that was missed in the construction of this castle! The floors, granite, light fixtures, fans, showers, kitchen appliances, front doors, etc... it was all amazing! We never figured out the surround sound system for the Plasma TV but looks like speakers are in place for surround sound. The house is constructed so the Castle Loft can hear the 'chatter' from the kitchen. So, if you have guests headed to bed early in that room...ear plugs are great to throw in! We will be back!!!! We are ALL still talking about how wonderful it was...you will not be disappointed! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend...just leave us a week/weekend every October! Thank you!!!!

Awesome Place

Guest: Rob (PALM BAY. FL/USA)
Date of Stay: 06/17/11 Review Submitted: 06/28/11

Staying at this Black Mountain Castle was quite an experience. The views are simply breath-taking and numerous from all parts of the house and the house itself is phenomenal. Our group of 15 had more than enough room to relax and enjoy a life of luxury. The master bedroom and bath is like something out of a movie...it is magnificent! The professional kitchen was also fantastic with a large gas stove and cool kitchen gadgets. All of the bedrooms have something unique about them which suites all guests. The property itself is also vast and a blast to explore...bring your hiking shoes. The owners are extremely accommodating, friendly and on the ball. Our only complaints were of poor water pressure for a short time (which could have been caused by a power outage and was taken care of immediately by the owners) and the sound acoustics in the house. Sound travels from the ground level to other areas of the house fairly easily even with the volume low. This was a bit of a problem for the little ones because they went to bed earlier than the rest of us. We also had to deal with quite a few bugs (flies and ants.) A screen would work great on the downstairs sliders and on other doors and windows. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we will definitely consider re-visiting the "Chateu" in the near future. I already miss it...

What a great place!

We had a wonderful time staying at your place and exploring the surroundings. We spent time enjoying the property from the dungeon to the fire pit to the trails around the house. We also made it to Chimney Rock, had lunch on the outside porch of an Italian restaurant at Lake Lure, did some mountain bike riding at Heartbreak Ridge and even had a chance to enjoy a meal on the porch at the Straight Away Cafe. Just wanted to say thank you again for the awesome experience. Your directions and information packet were very well done and helpful. We've told several friends about the Chateau de Vue that may be interested in contacting you about future stays. We also hope to visit again and develop many more great memories and experiences. Thanks again and we're planning to stay in touch.

Beautifully designed and thought-out home with an amazing view!

We go to Black Mountain several times a year. It is our family's favorite spot. This year, we convinced some couple friends of ours to meet us there, and we had a wonderful time. We had five couples with us, and there was more than enough room for all us between the bedrooms, large kitchen/living room and the beautiful porch. The view was one of the best we've seen in all of our years of going down to Black Mountain. We pretty much stayed at the house, enjoyed the hikes, the fire pit and the porch (as well as the NCAA Tournament), but Black Mountain is only about 20 minutes away and has tons of great restaurants, longer hikes, and shops. Just remember sheets and towels - I missed that information in the rental agreement, so we had to run out and get some.

Family Reunion

What a fantastic week!!! The Chateau was everything we wanted for a spot to house 16 family members. As a gourmet cook, the kitchen was wonderful. Plenty of room to feed the whole crew. The younger kids loved the dungeon and all the games. The older crew loved the back porch with its fabulous view of the mountains---a glass of wine, cool breeze and great conversation. And the showers in the place--- we took shower tours to find the best one---from the double in the master suite to the rain from the ceiling upstairs. The chateau is decorated in classy style with each bedroom having its destinctive style. Oh, and the driveway up is a piece of cake. WE also loved the surrounding area---Chimney Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Grandfather Mountain and of course Asheville--- what a great farmers' market! And Black Mountain and Montreat were both highlights. And great swimming holes on the way to Chimney Rock. The Chateau was everything advertised. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider it again

this home is everything the owners said....and more! secluded, spacious, fun and relaxing. We had friends meet up here from all of the Southeast and Midwest, everyone's breath was taken by the drive, the views and the home. We can not WAIT to stay here again with friends and family, for an entire week next time is what we are looking for..not to leave the mountain at all...just enjoy. The owners were super easy and friendly to work with, thanks guys for all your open communication during the lead up to the stay, it made things so much easier. Chateau De Vue is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Our family was overwhelmed at the beauty & splendor of the Black Mountain Chateau de Vue!! It was perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate Christmas! The view was magnificent & the home was very warm & cozy. We loved the family gathering room w/ large kitchen. Great for cooking, eating, watching TV & enjoying each other. The game room made for some awesome family competition, as well. This is definitely one we'll rent again!

Dream Mountain Castle for Sweet 16

Date of Stay: 02/25/11 Review Submitted: 03/11/11

This home was delightful in every way! For celebrating our daughter's 16th birthday with girlfriends, it could not have been more perfect! The girls occupied the top two floors - providing beds for all, the rec room for entertainment and their own kitchen for snacks! They had such fun taking pictures ALL over the house, exploring outside trails and stargazing by the firepit at night. The home is elegant and cozy all at once. Artful decor creates space and interest - allowing you to be relaxed yet always aware you are in a very special place. The master suite provided not only full privacy, a little needed peace and quiet, but also a beautiful view for morning coffee! Everything was well maintained and clean. Kitchen was well stocked (dishes, utensils, etc) and the logistics with the owners was smooth and easy. Linen service well worth the extra fee. The house has a fabulous, remote feeling/view yet access to Black Mountain was a pleasant easy drive and the town a nice surprise. A weekend to remember! - Can't wait to return!
