My husband hosted my 40th birthday getaway at the Chateau which included 12 adults. The Chateau is simply FABULOUS! The owners were very responsive, easy to work with and very helpful and informative with tidbits about the area (not that you want to leave once you are there). October was a great time to be there with the Fall foliage. We did not experience one 'hiccup' in our stay. The place was clean and stocked with most essentials. If you opt NOT to do the linen service, remember to bring hand towels for the bathrooms. The house had toilet paper, paper towels, aluminum foil, cleaning supplies, etc.. We never found firewood for the firepit but it gave the men a good excuse to be 'mountain men' and use the axe to build us a fire! The rec room is perfect with darts, pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, games, etc.. The upstairs kitchen was very convenient to keep 'rec drinks' cold. The air mattress in the closet is a Twin from what we could tell. There are extra blankets in a closet if needed. We picked up food from The Colorful Palate for dinner one night and it was AMAZING! We had an experienced home builder in our group and he was in 'awe' the entire weekend..there was not one detail that was missed in the construction of this castle! The floors, granite, light fixtures, fans, showers, kitchen appliances, front doors, etc... it was all amazing! We never figured out the surround sound system for the Plasma TV but looks like speakers are in place for surround sound. The house is constructed so the Castle Loft can hear the 'chatter' from the kitchen. So, if you have guests headed to bed early in that room...ear plugs are great to throw in! We will be back!!!! We are ALL still talking about how wonderful it was...you will not be disappointed! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend...just leave us a week/weekend every October! Thank you!!!!

Staying at this Black Mountain Castle was quite an experience. The views are simply breath-taking and numerous from all parts of the house and the house itself is phenomenal. Our group of 15 had more than enough room to relax and enjoy a life of luxury. The master bedroom and bath is like something out of a movie...it is magnificent! The professional kitchen was also fantastic with a large gas stove and cool kitchen gadgets. All of the bedrooms have something unique about them which suites all guests. The property itself is also vast and a blast to explore...bring your hiking shoes. The owners are extremely accommodating, friendly and on the ball. Our only complaints were of poor water pressure for a short time (which could have been caused by a power outage and was taken care of immediately by the owners) and the sound acoustics in the house. Sound travels from the ground level to other areas of the house fairly easily even with the volume low. This was a bit of a problem for the little ones because they went to bed earlier than the rest of us. We also had to deal with quite a few bugs (flies and ants.) A screen would work great on the downstairs sliders and on other doors and windows. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we will definitely consider re-visiting the "Chateu" in the near future. I already miss it...

We had a wonderful time staying at your place and exploring the surroundings. We spent time enjoying the property from the dungeon to the fire pit to the trails around the house. We also made it to Chimney Rock, had lunch on the outside porch of an Italian restaurant at Lake Lure, did some mountain bike riding at Heartbreak Ridge and even had a chance to enjoy a meal on the porch at the Straight Away Cafe. Just wanted to say thank you again for the awesome experience. Your directions and information packet were very well done and helpful. We've told several friends about the Chateau de Vue that may be interested in contacting you about future stays. We also hope to visit again and develop many more great memories and experiences. Thanks again and we're planning to stay in touch.

We go to Black Mountain several times a year. It is our family's favorite spot. This year, we convinced some couple friends of ours to meet us there, and we had a wonderful time. We had five couples with us, and there was more than enough room for all us between the bedrooms, large kitchen/living room and the beautiful porch. The view was one of the best we've seen in all of our years of going down to Black Mountain. We pretty much stayed at the house, enjoyed the hikes, the fire pit and the porch (as well as the NCAA Tournament), but Black Mountain is only about 20 minutes away and has tons of great restaurants, longer hikes, and shops. Just remember sheets and towels - I missed that information in the rental agreement, so we had to run out and get some.

This home was delightful in every way! For celebrating our daughter's 16th birthday with girlfriends, it could not have been more perfect! The girls occupied the top two floors - providing beds for all, the rec room for entertainment and their own kitchen for snacks! They had such fun taking pictures ALL over the house, exploring outside trails and stargazing by the firepit at night. The home is elegant and cozy all at once. Artful decor creates space and interest - allowing you to be relaxed yet always aware you are in a very special place. The master suite provided not only full privacy, a little needed peace and quiet, but also a beautiful view for morning coffee! Everything was well maintained and clean. Kitchen was well stocked (dishes, utensils, etc) and the logistics with the owners was smooth and easy. Linen service well worth the extra fee. The house has a fabulous, remote feeling/view yet access to Black Mountain was a pleasant easy drive and the town a nice surprise. A weekend to remember! - Can't wait to return!

This house will not disappoint. My family of 11 spent a week there in January 2011 and not only had a great time at the house but also had 10 inches of snow while we were there! Made for a very memorable vacation. The owners are fantastic, you could not wish for better people to rent from. Too often rental homes are not well taken care of but this is the rare exception. Everything in the house is so well maintained and taken care of. It really is a beautiful house. Thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities + the great games that they have there. Next time we head back to NC we will not think for a second where we will stay. Can't wait till next year!

My wife and I and a few of my married friends enjoyed this wonderful weekend at the Chateau! We had some much fun enjoying the View and game rooms! The owners were extremely helpful in each phase of our weekend gateway from the very beginning. Even when we flatlanders were snowed-in, the owner was so helpful as to call around to get neighbors to help plow the driveway and to talk us through getting out safely. Will recommend this place to anyone!!

Our family was overwhelmed at the beauty & splendor of the Black Mountain Chateau de Vue!! It was perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate Christmas! The view was magnificent & the home was very warm & cozy. We loved the family gathering room w/ large kitchen. Great for cooking, eating, watching TV & enjoying each other. The game room made for some awesome family competition, as well. This is definitely one we'll rent again!

What an outstanding "Castle" in the Blue Ridge Mountains-complete with Romeo and Juliet balconies!! You have a fabulous kitchen and gathering room for family and friends to enjoy your vacation getaway. Also plenty of room for everyone to have privacy and quiet time and rest, if that is what you need. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our compliments to the owners. You have a gorgeous home and you were so thoughtful and helpful to our group.

Our vacation including family ages15 - 80 was well-suited to the Chateau de Vue. We were able to relax in the various rooms, read, play games (we organized a low-key family tournament of foosball/pool/and shuffleboard that lasted the week), make daily outings if desired, exercise and hike, and settle in for evenings of gourmet cooking and sunset-viewing from the porch. The details of 'castle' decor make the house different and special. It is spacious and has the feeling of being 'big' like a castle. A few times late at night, we watched a movies we had brought, but it is too beautiful a home and location to waste time on the television. We visited a local lake for a pontoon boat tour, went fly-fishing with a local guide, ate out at some lovely restaurants on the lake and at nearby towns, shopped and explored local towns, visited Asheville, and more. The mountain road leading to the home is quite curvy, but that encourages you to plan ahead and not expect to run out every ten minutes to do or get something. It makes for an excellent opportunity to just enjoy each other. There are no 'next-door' neighbors, so it is peaceful. There are so many things to see or do in the area, that this great part of the country warrants many repeat visits. We would definitely stay at this home again.

What a fantastic week!!! The Chateau was everything we wanted for a spot to house 16 family members. As a gourmet cook, the kitchen was wonderful. Plenty of room to feed the whole crew. The younger kids loved the dungeon and all the games. The older crew loved the back porch with its fabulous view of the mountains---a glass of wine, cool breeze and great conversation. And the showers in the place--- we took shower tours to find the best one---from the double in the master suite to the rain from the ceiling upstairs. The chateau is decorated in classy style with each bedroom having its destinctive style. Oh, and the driveway up is a piece of cake. WE also loved the surrounding area---Chimney Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Grandfather Mountain and of course Asheville--- what a great farmers' market! And Black Mountain and Montreat were both highlights. And great swimming holes on the way to Chimney Rock. The Chateau was everything advertised. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider it again

This home was absolutely gorgeous. It was beautifully furnished and had breathtaking views of the mountains. We enjoyed spending our nights sitting on the back porch watching the sun go down and looking at the stars. The owners were wonderful to deal with and always were quick to respond to questions. Prior to arrival they emailed a welcome packet that answered many questions and even gave suggestions of tourists sites and restaurants in the area. We had spent 7 days in NC on the beach and decided to spend a few nights in the mountains also and this was an amazing addition to our vacation and we wished we had more time to spend in this wonderful home! Thanks to the owners!

Chateau de Vue is an amazing home! The house is huge, well designed and decorated and feels warm and welcoming! The owners were just as nice and honest to deal with through out. Each morning we had coffee while watching the beautiful sunrises over the eastern mountains and then went on fun hikes up the property. After day trips to surrounding towns and adventures we would come home each evening to cook dinner in a huge kitchen and then gather around the outside fire pit for smores and laughter an the evening sunset over the western mountains. Finally as we ended the evening the kids would play in the well stocked game room and we would sip wine by the indoor fire and watch a DVD or read.I highly recomend this home.Jeff

We celebrated my father's 80th b-day in style in the mountains at the "Castle House". We loved the views, the weather and the layout. Enough room for the whole family and space for us all to have some alone time once in a while, too. Played games indoors and out and had a great birthday party to boot. Also, spent a day at the beach at lake lure, easy drive and great day get away for the little ones and older ones alike. Thanks for the memories! I am trying to get the family to commit to week next year as well.

What a wonderful family vacation we had here! The house is fantastic --- lots of room, beautiful finishes, very comfortable. The views are amazing .... sitting on the porch was my most favorite activity of the day. The sunsets took my breath away, and the absolute quiet of the location restored my soul. It was wonderful to be able to gather with my entire extended family for a week we won't soon forget. Memories that we will cherish forever were made, and this home and this location now have a special place forever in our hearts.

What a wonderful house in a spectacular setting. From coffee on the porch in the morning, to watching sunsets from the turret, we truly enjoyed our time at the Chateau. The owners have provided a wide range of touches that say Welcome and enjoy your stay. All of the rooms are much brighter than the photos show. The owners have even provided walkingsticks ( in the garage) if you want to hike the property. The town of Black Mountain is charming and has some very good resturants. There are many places to explore nearby. We were so busy relaxing that we had to book another stay.
