This is a home where nothing has been "put away" for vacationing people. We have left everything 'As Is' so that you get the wonderful experience of your very own country home.
Swim in the built-in pool. Run through the manicured lawn. Wade through the winding creek in the woods. Watch eagles fly overhead with the binoculars. Roast marshmallows over the campfire. Eat dinner on the deck or lounge in an Adirondack chair. Take a long nap in the over-sized hammock.
In the evening, enjoy wonderful nearby dining, concerts at Bethel Woods, or just staying at home enjoying a fire...

Why the Owner Chose Eldred
We chose Eldred, NY after looking at many towns not only in NY, but also in NJ and PA. We searched for nearly a year. We wanted something authentic, something that didn’t resemble a home found in the suburbs. When we found our home, it was perfect in every sense. A log home built by hand nestled in 12 acres of woods with amazing wildlife. It has a beautiful lawn for recreation and my kids favorite; the built-in swimming pool! The commute is shorter than our friends who travel to a second home. It’s a short trip to be in the heart of the mountains, rafting down the Delaware or enjoying a top-notch concert at Bethel Woods.
The Unique Benefits at this Log Home
If I could spend every day here, in every season, I would. The tranquility, the only sounds are that of nature; birds, bees buzzing, the wind, and more. In the colder months, I love to curl up in front of the fire on what I consider the most comfortable couch ever made. [FYI--all my guests want to sleep there!]. It's great to walk the 12 acres of woods to a beautiful stream, a small outlet that eventually winds into the Delaware. During the Spring, Summer and Fall, the change in nature is beautiful. I enjoy bringing a chair by the creek to read or watch my kids wade through the water. In the summer we have so many laughs in the pool, barbequing, eating outside, making our nightly campfire, lying on the grass to view the entire sky and trace the stars. In the morning, our resident groundhog makes his rounds. You may find a mother deer and her baby snoozing in the front lawn. The hammock makes for a great nap in the sun. We take many drives to a nearby lakefront beach. It's filled with families, the water is great for kids of all ages, they have a bar/restaurant which often has some great bands to listen to. We enjoy rafting down the river, fishing the stocked trout ponds at the Eldred Preserve (everyone catches one!) and dining at our favorite restaurant in nearby Barryville, The Carriage House. At the end of the day we stop off at the ice cream shop. Great concerts & museum at Bethel Woods. Beautiful scenic drives through the "Hawks Nest", a winding road, high up in the mountains overlooking the river. Many festivals, fairs, antiquing, summer stock theater, and so much more. In the winter, we head out skiing and snowboarding or trekking through a ton of fresh snow. Fall foliage also brings deep-frying turkeys in an outdoor cooker, collecting tons of pinecones, and the colors are breathtaking.

Hello! I am a stay-at-home mom with 3 children. Our family currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, but we are selling our home and moving to a farm in NJ. My husband and I are both fanatics of art and design. He builds and designs restaurants for a living. Together we enjoy decorating and have brought our unique and comfortable style to our home in the country. It’s a beautiful place in nature to escape the hustle & bustle of city life. It’s awesome my kids have experienced what it feels like to run through grass bare feet to finding tiny orange newts on the road. As my children grow older, their extra-curricular actives have increased and we rarely use the home. Our move to a farm also prompted our decision to rent. We’re not ready to sell this country home that we love so much but we’ll be moving to an environment that brings with it similar characteristics; quiet, room to run free, etc. I’m proud of this home and it makes me smile to imagine other folks enjoying all that we do; roasting marshmallows over the campfire, splashing in the pool, naps in the hammock, or chasing a frog in the creek.
