On a family vacation from Scotland,we stayed at Rocklaurel for 4 days before travelling north of Boston. The description and the photos do not do justice to this charming property and it's ideal location.Well equipped and kept by the owners(who were very helpful as well),we would have loved to stay longer. All I can say that it is on our list for a return trip one day !Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: We were so happy to introduce this charming family to this wonderful part of Rhode Island. We hope they come back!

As I'm on this site to book another week at this great hideaway in RI, I recall the delight my daughters and I felt when we first walked into the backyard and saw the sparkling water and the beautiful grounds of this property. My 10 year caught 8 fish her first hour! Even my 15 year old - who traditionally shrugs off most outdoor activitives - learned to kayak. The house is immaculate, artistic, and extremely comfortable. The owners provided everything we needed for a great vacation. Only 90 minutes from home in Boston, this place is minutes from the I-95 and close to a ton of attractions the kids and I wanted to explore. The proximity to the casinos is a huge bonus. Looking forward to my annual getaway :-) and some GOLF!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Although not as secluded as it previously was (new house across the road) this vacation spot remains idyllic and peaceful and much more private than most. We lucked out with some unusually warm days in April and spent beautiful days by the pond and around the firepit in the evening. The house has everything one needs and my teenagers enjoyed hiking around the area and boating. Day trips to Providence, Mystic Seaport and Watch Hill completed the best vacation ever. The listing description and photos were extremely accurate. The house was very, very clean and well maintained. Owners were great. Enjoyed Westerly restaurants and all of the nearby golf courses.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: I'm so glad this family enjoyed our favorite spot. They were concerned that the kids would be bored but everyone had a wonderful time.

I brought my two boys up to the house for a week, not knowing what to expect, they are so used to the beach. We all loved it so much! Johnny caught 75 fish in the week we were there. He was so proud. This was a very memorable vacation. Thank you for your kindness!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This cottage is truly wonderful. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The house is clean and the owners think of the smallest details. The property is nicely secluded and the pond is a beautiful place for fishing, kayaking and paddleboats. This is a perfect New England get away that is close to everything but still away from it all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Everything one could hope for in a rental is provided in this fantastic vacation retreat. The owners thought of everything in setting up this house for renting. This was truly a magnificant place to just sit on the deck and read (plenty of great books in the house)it was extremely quite and relaxing. My family enjoyed the paddle boat and canoing, while I sat on the deck and relaxed with a book and listened to the sounds of nature.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife & I, along with other family members had an unbelievably fantastic time on vacation at this home. Very convenient to all locations along the coast from Newport RI to New London CT & many inland locations. We found this home to be a great place & very comfortable to come home to, during our short 1 week stay. I along with the rest of my party have great admiration for the artist(s) work within this home. Thank You for the wonderful week!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
