Roxy's Retreat is a charming, easily accessible log cabin in the Last Chance area of Island Park. Although close to Highway 20, it is peaceful and a bit of paradise. The open, warm design of the cabin encourages socializing between family and friends. From the patio or the balcony you can watch moose and deer come to drink from the pond next to the property, walk five minutes to Henry's Fork of the Snake River for fishing or rafting, or drive five minutes to Island Park Reservoir for boating, fishing, water skiing or other water sports. In the winter you can ride snowmobiles right from the property to some of the finest snowmobiling in the world. See the gorgeous Upper and Lower Mesa Falls - in winter by snowmobile and in summer by automobile. Big Sky and Targhee ski resorts are within a 90 minute drive. And of course, West Yellowstone, the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, is only 35 minutes away.
Do you and your family like geocaching? Island Park is a geocacher's dream! There are many caches ranging from easily accessible to highly technical. The cabin's coordinates are:
N 44° 22' 35.6"
W 111° 23' 41.4"
See the area on one of the internet mapping sites that offers aerial views.
Island Park is considered a premiere snowmobiling destination, and this cabin is right in the middle of it all. Go see Yellowstone wildlife in the winter; see the unique beauty of Upper and Lower Mesa Falls; sit outside at night and hear the coyotes call and watch the stars that look as if they are on fire. Snuggle on the couch next to the gas fireplace with that special someone. Make memories with your family.

This is where you pick up the key to the cabin, which is almost exactly one mile north of here. You can also get fishing licenses, some groceries, and rent videos here.
This is a good place to rent boats or canoes and float from the Railroad Bridge back down to Macks, about 4 miles / 3 hours
This is where Henry's Fork is born, coming right out of the side of the mountain! Take the Big Springs Loop from Mack's Inn to get here.
This is a beautiful 114 foot (34.75 m) waterfall that shows several of the geological characteristics of the Island Park area. A picture of this waterfall is among the cabin pictures. There is a $5 entrance fee.
This is a very picturesque multi-step waterfall seen from a distance. There is no entrance fee.
Follow this road to the west as is changes from asphalt to gravel and slowly climbs through three distinct climate zones, ending on the peak above the treeline. On top of Sawtelle Peak is an air traffic control radar system, and the view let's you see parts of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. But this road is not for the squeamish!
Excellent place for hiking, horseback riding or fishing on a quiet lake without the interruptions of powerboats or ATV's. There are use fees which vary based on what you choose to do.

I stayed at Roxy's Retreat the week of Aug 1st. We got there late at night and were pleasantly surprised when we looked outside the next morning. The cabin was very cozy and well stocked. It was very clean and Kerry was absolutely awesome. We've stayed at cabins on Yellowstone visits over the past three years and Roxy's Retreat was definitely our favorite. We'd definitely stay there again.

Roxy's Retreat was an amazing place to stay. It comes as advertises on VRBO.com, and was simply perfect for our vacation. Although it was only two of us, the home didn't feel too big, and offered a plenty of "home" charm. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the oversized tub upstairs instantly added value to the upper bathroom. The close proximity to Yellowstone is extremely convenient while still providing a feeling of privacy and seclusion. We will definitely consider staying here again for future visits to the area.

We had a lovely week at Roxy's with our children and grandchildren. The cabin is exactly as described and what we were hoping for... cosy atmosphere with tons of cabin character. There is something for everyone. We had people who ranged in age from late 40's to a 17 month old baby and everyone had an amazing time. The property is very well maintained and the owner's were wonderful to work with. Everything is in close proximity with easy access. We are looking forward to making this years stay at Roxy's the first of many. We highly recommend this property!!! Hope your family enjoys their stay as much as we did!

Overall, the cabin is wonderful. It was clean and comfortable. It is a little difficult to find off of the Highway. The biggest problem is the proximity of the highway to the cabin, so it is a little noisy outside, but hardly noticeable inside. By nightfall, the traffic had calmed down so visiting outside was pleasant. It is also right on the water so make sure to bring a lot of bug spray. The stairs are narrow so a baby gate does not fit. Beds were comfortable and the house is well stocked!! We had a great time and it was close to everything!!! The owners were helpful in answering my questions and giving directions. We would definately return here for another stay!!

We stayed 8 days at this cabin with a large family group. It was a perfect vacation. It had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay and is exactly as described. There are many things to do in Island Park for all ages and abilities. Yellowstone is a day trip. There are 3 state parks very close by. If you are into geocaching, there are lots of opportunities nearby.
