Cabe's Cottage is located in Clark's Chapel of Franklin, North Carolina. Built in the flavor of a British cottage, it makes a wonderful get-away and offers glorious mountain vistas, quiet privacy, convenient access and is minutes from Franklin. With fishing, biking, hiking, rafting, horseback riding or waterfall exploring nearby, Cabe's Cottage is your mountain destination of Western North Carolina. Proximity to Maggie Valley, Asheville, Cherokee, and Dollywood is within a day's drive.
Our 3200 sq.' cottage is completely furnished for your comfort and pleasure with four separate levels and multiple activity areas for the family or several families. Sleeping up to 10, the master loft has a king bed and is warm and cozy with knotty pine and hardwood flooring. Two other bedrooms have queen beds for your comfort. The living room is furnished with a queen sofa bed. Downstairs, there are 2 double futons for the children.
Congregate in the game room for a game of pool, cards, or board games after a vigorous day of hiking or rafting, or stay close to the cottage and hang around the swimming pool with a good book to relax. FYI - the pool is not heated but comfortable in summer months. It is open from 4/30-9/30 each year.

$75 non-refundable pet deposit for dog under 20 lbs.

Hi! We are Scot and Sonja Thompson and currently live in Safety Harbor, Florida. Scot is working in Business Development in the defense industry, and Sonja retired from a middle school as a secretary. Our dream was to move to Franklin and continue working in later years as small business owners. Scot is a car buff and has restored a 1964 Pontiac Lemans that we both love to take to car shows. He also plays the guitar and is a voracious reader. Sonja loves to garden, read and walk. She quilts for the family and with a prayer ministry.
Our plans to move to NC have taken a slight detour, and we have opened our future home for seasonal visitors to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose Franklin
Our family has been visiting Franklin for 13 years. Many years ago we were told of a beautiful area with many lakes and outdoor activities for the family. Our son, Chad, was 10, and we immediately planned our vacation. We came back for several years loving every minute and decided we would like to have a summer home in the mountains. Being close to Cherokee, the Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg, and rivers and lakes, Franklin was our pick; and we have not been sorry a single day!!
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Our cottage is only 10 minutes from town, yet it is quiet and private. It was built by a Brit, so it has a special character all its own. It is large enough for several families and has a downstairs game room, making it fun to relax in after a busy day hiking, tubing, or horseback riding. In summer, the pool is refreshing and a great place to visit with friends and family. Our cottage is completely equipped for visitors to feel like it's their own.

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful time with our whole family at your lovely home. We had a lasagna night with our big family and had plenty of room inside and out. You have made the cottage welcoming and comfortable. We hiked, sat outside and enjoyed being in the mountains. Our pool skills aren't great, but we enjoyed it. Thank you for everything! Dear Scot & Sonja, My husband and I can't thank you enough for the use of your beautiful home, especially at such a reasonable rate. We were very happy to treat your home as we would carefully and lovingly treat our own. We were so impressed by your attention to every detail. I couldn't think of any further improvement. We also recommend the Mason Mine to your future guests...it is about 17 miles from the cottage and worth the short trip. It is the only saphire and ruby mine that allows you to dig your own dirt!! We found several nice stones including a 10.8 Kt. Saphire! PS. We loved that your "cottage" was so close to everything! What a great central location, yet still tucked away. Please feel free to use any of our comments on the internet for advertising. Friendly Note: The water for toilet in the 1st bathroom will run if you don't make sure the handle is up after flushing.
