Beautiful views from this recently remodeled bayfront cottage. New paint, furniture, and 42" LCD hi def tv are just a part of this remodel. This modest and clean cottage lies along the northern shore line of Dona Bay, enjoying the same views and setting as the neighborhood of multi million dollar homes. The views and atmosphere are spectacular.
The recently remodeled cottage has two bedrooms. One with a pillowtop queen bed and the other with two single beds that could be put together as one big bed. Each bedroom has cable tv. There is also a separate dining room, an eat in kitchen, living room, laundry, and two baths. It has Verizon FIOS hi def tv and high speed internet. The home sits about 50 feet off the shore line providing up close waterfront views from most rooms of the cottage. The home has it's own private boat dock with a boat lift. Rental boats nearby.
Enjoy boating, fishing or crabbing on your private dock with boat lift. Canoe or kayak from Oscar Scherer State Park. Boat rentals nearby. Beaches within 1.5 miles. Bicycle to the beach or public tennis courts, which are both about one and a half mile away.
Many fine restaurants in the area. Many beautiful golf courses to choose from. Rent a boat, windsurf, parasail or charter fishing nearby. Shell and shark's tooth hunt on the famous Casperson Beach. A ten minute drive to Sarasota and 50 minutes to Tampa (Busch Gardens and Adventure Island), and 1 hour 45 minutes to all of the Orlando attractions. Yes, I mean Disney and much more.
We will even consider renting the home, furnished, on an annual basis. This works well for people who like to come and go on a longer term basis. It could be your second home away from home (or your primary home). Call for details.
There is no smoking permitted on the property, inside or outside. Pets may be accepted with additional deposit OR credit card on file. Please inquire about options for parties of more than four.
The cottage has an adjoining unit that is only occupied between late January and early April. Other months, the adjoining unit is not occupied.

My husband and I stayed here in April. The cottage was exactly as described and met all our expections. The place was well kept and furnished. the photos in the add show exactly what to expect. We especially enjoyed the water views and the tranquility of the location. It is a short travel distance to beaches, restaurants, and shopping. Communication with the owner was very easy and comfortable. Our favorite restaurant in the area is the Crow's Nest in Venice. Great food either up or downstairs; nice water view upstairs. I would recommend this rental highly.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

this house has a wonderful view. it is well furnished and equipped. it is close to lovely downtown venice and to the beaches. also a quick trip to sarasota. we had a great two weeks.

We really enjoyed our week here. The cottage was clean with plenty of room and great views. It was close enough to beach and convenient to other shopping etc. The wild birds that visited the yard were beautiful and fun to watch. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely rent from him again.

My husband and I have rented Florida vacation properties three times, and this property was our best experience. The cottage is roomy, open, bright and clean. The location is perfectly lovely--right on the bay with a good sized backyard where we frequently had waterbirds visit, including a huge great blue heron who stopped by frequently. It is very nicely decorated with new living room furniture, comfortable beds and a full formal dining room with water views. You can also eat at a small kitchen table next to the window and enjoy that view. There are tons of windows, so light pours in from everywhere. The owner lives next door and is available if needed, but does not intrude on the tenants' privacy. The cottage is located in a beautiful neighborhood which has a mixture of million dollar homes and modest houses. It isfar enough off Tamiami Trail to be very quiet, yet you can be on that major highway in a couple of minutes. Beautiful Nokomis Beach is just a short bike ride away. My husband took part in the drum circles there on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. We loved eating at "Pelican Alley" at the bridge. There is a ton of stuff to do nearby in Venice and Sarasota. For TV buffs, there is a big flat screen in the living room and smaller TVs in each bedroom. I would recommend this rental to anyone. We hated to leave, having had one of the most enjoyable vacation experiences ever.

My husband and I spent the month of November in the Bayfront Cottage. It is clean, quiet and has everything you need. We enjoyed the bay views, the birds and the charming city of Venice. We brought two cockers and took them to the dog park every day which is an amazing experience for dog owners. The Nokomis beach sunsets are breathtaking. We felt very comfortable in this location and look forward to going back.
