Hale Luana is a private, family-owned beach house fronting a white sand beach ("Baby Beach") on the southern shore of Kauai. This tropically landscaped vacation home includes a three-bedroom main house, a one-bedroom guest house and a fresh water swimming pool. The two-story main house has three bedrooms and two and a half baths. The main house has a king-bed in the master bedroom, a queen-bed in one upstairs guest room and twin-beds in the second upstairs guest room. The twins can be made into one bed. The guest house has a queen-bed a living area and its own bathroom.
About 100 yards in width, Baby Beach is situated in a picturesque crescent cove (please see photos). The beach is safe and ideal for children. A surrounding reef precludes adult swimming out more than a short distance.
Hale Luana is a short walk from the Kukuilua convenience store and the new upscale Kukuiula Village (shops and restaurants) scheduled to open in late 2009. The Village features Merriman's Restaurant (upstairs) and Cafe (Downstairs). Other nearby restuarants include The Beach House (walking distance), Roy's, Keoki's Paradise, the Plantation Gardens and Brennecke's Bar & Grill.
Guests have the choice of several highly rated golf courses including the Poipu Bay Club (Hyatt Regency) and the Kiahuna Golf Club. Tennis is available at The Kiahuna Tennis Club.
There is a farmer's market in nearby Koloa on Monday's at noon. We also recommend buying fresh Ahi and Mahimahi at the fish store in Koloa. You might also enjoy a trip to Lappert's Ice Cream Parlor in the Kukuiula Village.
