Historic San Miguel de Allende is one of the most picturesque colonial cities in all of Mexico. Situated near the top of the trendy Ojo de Agua area sits CASA CELESTE, a new (2007) lavishly designed and appointed home with a view overlooking the whole city of San Miguel.

The Santa Rosa Mountains shape the horizon beyond. An easy 20 minute walk down hill takes you to the Juardin, the active and fun town square. You haven’t seen the real Mexico until you have visited San Miguel de Allende, and CASA CELESTE is the perfect “home away from home”.

Casa Celeste has 3 bedrooms with full baths, and there is a half bath on the living room level as well. There is also an upstairs artist studio with tables and lighting for painting. In the studio is a sofa that is also a twin or King bed for additional guests. Adding to the beauty of this spacious home is a two story weeping wall, gardens, terraces, and spectacular night lighting effects throughout.

The main level includes the living , dining and a well-equipped kitchen. A beautiful marble island in the center of the kitchen increases the work space , and makes it a joy to use! There is also a cozy breakfast area overlooking the mountains to the west.
A comfortable guest bedroom with two twin beds and a full bath is on the main level as well.

The master suite with its lovely bovida ceiling is on the upper level. You don’t even have to sit up in the king size bed to see the lights of the city twinkling below. The master bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool tub. An upstairs artist studio doubles as a fourth bedroom, equipped with painting table, computer table, and desk. The bed is an impressive trundle/Murphy bed (two twins together) that can be a single or a king, and is a sofa when not in use.

The third bedroom of Casa Celeste, and included in this rental, is in the Casita (Spanish for little house) on the entrance level of Casa Celeste. A private courtyard invites you in to this precious two-room house within a house. It has a queen bed in the bedroom with a large amour, full bath, and a separate kitchen and living area - a great addition for a couple who want a little private space of their own!

A two car garage and complete private laundry facility are a real plus in Casa Celeste. In addition, Petra, the housekeeper is there five and a half days a week to clean, make beds, and even do your laundry if you wish. She is also a wonderful cook, and will be happy to prepare an authentic Mexican Comida for you. Ricardo, the gardener will come twice a week to tend the plants.

If you’ve arrived by air, you’ll most likely come into the Leon Airport (BJX), a one and a half hour ride to San Miguel. If you wish, we can make arrangements for a shuttle or limo to take you from the airport right to the house, then back to the airport on your day of departure. You would pay the driver in USD for your round trip fare.

Layered clothing is ideal for San Miguel, with temperatures being cool in the evening and morning, but warming beautifully during the course of the day. The altitude is 6500 feet above sea level.

Please note that the Casita (little house) is within the walls of Casa Celeste, and is included in the rental of this lovely property!

Why the Owner Chose Ojo de Agua

San Miguel de Allende is the perfect second home for artists, Win and Judy. Not only is it a historic colonial Mexican city, but also an artist hub with an Art Institute, galleries and exhibits. There is always something going on in the art and music world in San Miguel.

The Unique Benefits at this House

The old traditions of Mexico are alive and well in San Miguel. Just walking into town you will experience what we have come to call "Milagro del dia" ~ Miracle of the day. This colorful community is alive with things you will only see in Mexico, ranging from the quaint to contemporary. Thousands of colorful images await you there!

A
Park Juarez

a lovely place for morning walking or jogging. Also benches for sitting. There are activities in this park as well. Just watch the newspaper, the Atencion

B
Centro and Cathedral

Cetro, also called the "juardin" is the old town square, with a lovely park and the main cathendral. Mariachi bands play at night, and balloon men stroll the park. Families and people of all ages gather there.

What an incredible property. I have rented homes in San Miguel for many years and have never stayed at a home that was as comfortable and beautiful as Casa Celeste. The owners were more than helpful in so many ways and incredibly kind. The owners are artists and the home reflects their gifts at design and decoration. The house staff was helpful yet not intrusive. The location is close to the center of town yet far enough away for peace and quiet. The views are fantastic of the city, lake, and mountains. I would definitely stay at this property again. Every detail for comfort was thought about by the owners from blenders to vegetable steamers, cheese graters, and a coffee grinder. The house is on a purification system and no bottled water is necessary. There is even a frog in the pond. He begins his song every evening around 8pm. Enchanting!

To any considering a magical retreat, Casa Celeste will deliver! This house (palace) is AMAZING! We chose this house for our honeymoon. I've never stayed in a more luxurious, yet comfortable, setting. Every amenity imaginable, awesome views, great neighborhood (and neighbors), and the maid is so helpful. She ironed my shirts every day. The kitchen is a chef's dream and it's so nice to sit at the breakfast table and look out over the city and mountains. I could go on and on... Oh and the city is spectacular, plenty to do and see, awesome variety of great food at a low price. We took daytrips to Guanajuato and Queretero, so much fun. Saw Doc Sevronson play at a little Italian restaraunt, he told me he moved there and will be playing every weekend! I guess you can tell we enjoyed!
