Moon River Cottage is a cozy mountain paradise located in the midst of Roosevelt National Forest, facing the St. Vrain River. Rocky Mountain National Park is only minutes away. The cottage is located in the charming hamlet of Raymond/Riverside only a short, beautiful drive from Estes Park, Lyons and Allenspark.

Boulder is about 30 minutes away. The cottage is completely newly remodeled with eclectic, yet very comfortable furniture and artistic decor.

The granite peaks that rise just above your view of the river will take your breath away. During the warmer months, the lovely cottage garden is a delightful place to dine "al fresco" or just while away the time reading or fishing to the sound of the music of the river. The entire property is fenced for your privacy, and the safety of children, while not obstructing your view of the river and mountains beyond.

The bathroom has been completely remodeled with an easy access tub and shower.

Wildlife abounds. The hummingbirds and chipmunks will amuse you with their daily visits.

Our friendly property manager is just across the road, should you need him.

This was a charming cabin with all of the necessary things to make us comfortable. There had been a big snow the night before our arrival, so once we finally made it to the cabin, we didn't want to leave again. Everything was there to help us feel secluded (including the snow!) and connected (March Madness.) We would love to see the surroundings in the summer now, and to spend time out on the deck with the river and mountainside behind us.

It was lovely, with a secluded little backyard by a river, beautiful furnishings, nice rugs and fun art, and a kitchen that was fun to cook in.

My daughter, 4 year-old granddaughter and I spent a late summer week at this special cabin. My granddaughter immediately christened the artist studio "The Fairy House" and thus began our magical week. The accommodations were as described - all comfort and convenience. The flower gardens are spectacular. Falling asleep listening to the river was so relaxing. Although Rocky Mountain National Park and Este Park are obvious draws, don't miss the restaurants, shops and "Ol Swimmin' Hole" in Lyons. The Sombrero Ranch in Allenspark for horseback riding is first rate. The proximity to all that part of Colorado offers but feeling a sense of peace and seclusion will promise a return visit for us.

Moon River is a excellent getaway! Cottage was just perfect. We had close to 10 in of snow and it was awesome! The fire was nice and the quiet location was perfect. Lots to see and do. Would stay again for sure. Thanks!

This house is just excellent. I agree with another review stating they wanted to "keep it a secret" because it is so nice. I cannot say enough good things about it ! It is obviously very well-taken care of, and is quality, solidly built. There are beautiful hardwood floors, nice, heavy furniture, and an overall brightness. Everything is very clean, and the kitchen is easy to work in. The backyard and deck is almost surreal. It has beautiful plantings -- and the swift St. Vrain river runs right by it; awesome. The location is just great for hiking in all the eastern areas of RMNP; we did several hikes, and this place was so nice to come back to after a rigorous hike. September 2012 was our second visit there and we definitely would like to return.

I am a bit hesitant to write this review as I want this to remain "our" secret but it would not be fair to the wonderful owners of this amazing property. I was looking for a wooded riverfront location at which to get married in a very small, intimate ceremony when I found Moon River Cottage. The pictures made my heart skip a beat and I was hooked. The listing description and photos are humble; this property is even prettier in person. The flowers in the backyard planting boxes were blooming prolifically. The grass was lush and green. There are a few additional areas not shown in the photos and they, too, are quite lovely. The decor, inside and out is very artistic and gives one a great feeling. This property is tastefully decorated and very clean. The main bed is very large and comfortable. Being able to lay under a lush comforter and listen to a running river and feel the cold night air on our faces was heaven. I slept so well and awoke refreshed. I used the kitchen to make a meal and it was well stocked contained everything I needed to make and serve it. The kitchen is open to the living/dining rooms so I was able to cook and visit with my friends/family. I was able to watch my sister and my BFF build a fire in the wood burning stove using the woods from a well-stocked wood pile. The outdoor seating is also comfortable and gave my sister and I a place to curl up with blankets and good conversation. We were surrounded by beauty, including the tree and rock filled mountainside just over the river. I spent the following morning here as well with a hot cup of coffee. My only complaint is one directed at myself. Why, oh why did I not book additional nights so that I could stay for several more days with my new husband and my best friend and her husband? We all envisioned reading, napping, eating, playing board games, watching movies, eating, relaxing, walking - all without ever having to stray far from this slice of heaven on earth. I have nothing but gratitude to the owners of this charming home.

Owner response: We're so delighted that your wedding day at our property was everything that you hoped for. I'm only sorry tht we weren't there to witness it. It sounds like you all had such a good time! Maybe you'll come back for your first anniversary and have more time to just relax and enjoy!

We weren't exactly sure what to expect; got info from another site, but my wife and I were just so pleased as we arrived. The three days here were the perfect beginning of our nine day vacation--the rest spent camping above Crested Butte and then a couple in Denver with friends... Moon River Cottage was just a wonderful experience all around--even the incredible Monday afternoon thunderstorm couldn't dull its magic! Easy access to Estes Park and Lyons for quick visits and a great place to stretch out on the porch and read or just watch the day 'roll by'. Sleeping to the sound of the rushing river, meditating on the back patio in the early morning, watching the little critters scampering around the yard, preparing/ grilling dinner in the cool eveing--all in all just a totally delightful experience. For any couple, small family or gathering could not recommend a better setting for a true Rocky Mountain high! We are already planning how to come back for a winter visit if we can.

As a first time user of VRBO, I couldn"t have been more thrilled with Moon River Cottage. My family of four stayed there the last week of June. The cottage itself reflects the owners love. It was clean and well-appointed. The decor is eclectic and fun. The kids loved the art studio, we loved having cocktails while grilling dinner, and listening to the river from the back deck! Having a washer/dryer was a plus, too! The location was perfect as we didn't want to be in the hustle of Estes Park, yet have easy access. The drive via the Peak to Peak Hwy was lovely and quick. Thank you Susan and Issiac! Tip: Try to fit in dinner at the Fawn Brook Inn in Allenspark. Delicious!!

What a wonderful cabin and location. Set right between Boulder and Estes Park. Absolutely no complaints and I'm a picky one. So relaxing and quiet sitting under the backyard tree reading and listening to the river run by. You will have to visit Allenspark for great breakfast at Meadow and visit the gift shop at CO 7 and CO 7 business. Great eating in Lyons and the trip is beautiful. Best cabin I've ever stayed in for comfort and area. Hiking nearby. Thanks Isaac and Susan...we will be back. Ignore my nickname of "No toilet paper".

We recently spent a week at Moon River Cottage with our three young children and could not have asked for a better experience. The cottage itself is very well cared for, clean, included obvious high-quality upgrades such as the bathroom, windows, deck and washer/dryer, and had all the amenities our family needed. A definite highlight was the backyard space. The river is beautiful, and we enjoyed fishing in it mulitple times. The yard itself is lovely and the art studio was an added bonus for the kids. They loved having their own space in which to create! Having the yard fenced in gave us peace of mind to let the kids play alone outside while also providing complete privacy from neighbors. Not once did we mind did the beautiful drive to area attractions, as we knew we'd return to such a wonderful place, away from traffic and any noise except the sound of river and the wind in the trees. The owners were wonderful to work with, quick to answer any questions and always very accomodating. It is obvious they take pride in the upkeep of the cottage, and we were so fortunate to enjoy it!
