  Overall, I would highly recommend this vacation rental. The condo is even more beautiful than the pictures indicate - the decor and the surroundings are gorgeous. Just down the road at the end of Cap Cana is the unbelievable Caleton Beach Club - which, while pricey - is well worth the drive and the price of admission as the beach there is sugar sand and the amenities are first rate. One of the nicest beaches in the world for SURE. At the Founders condos, getting acclimated took about a day or so... I do suggest renting a car as the free shuttle requires up to 30 minutes of wait time in the HOT lobby and private drivers charge a fortune, but FORGET what you read on the internet - driving between the airport and Cap Cana (and AROUND Cap Cana) is EASY and trouble-free. Rent the car! Groceries should be purchased near the airport at the Nacional Supermercado (best selection possible that part of the country) and the restaurants nearby are all wonderful. The little mini mart has ice cream (gelato style) which was always a nice treat for the kids. We spent 8 days of "Spring Break" with our family of four including a 3rd grade boy and an almost Kindergartener girl. There were LOADS of kids to play with - mostly wealthy Dominicans vacationing in their second homes there. Everyone was SUPER friendly and the whole experience was cultural as well as relaxing. Catalina was wonderful and eager to assist in any way. The only trouble we had was with some slow communication in advance of our departure... I would recommend Liz be more prompt in email response time, and it would be nice to have some sort of information packet so as to not go "blind" into the trip. A map would be helpful (sent in ADVANCE) so that a person renting a car can find Cap Cana. A few things didn't function (dishwasher), but nothing terribly troublesome. The ethernet cable proved too difficult for us - we couldn't get the laptop to connect to the internet ("network not configured"???) but the lobby had free wifi. I would encourage the owner to provide a wireless modem instead of expecting guests to hardwire their connection. I don't want to focus on negatives, overall I give the condo, the area, and the experience 5 STARS, I just want to be forthcoming to those considering this rental. Go for it, but be advised of the trouble spots. I hope the owner is inspired to improve those small matters. We would love to return - it really felt like "home" there. Adios Republica Dominicana!

  We just returned from a week's stay at this condo and it was absolutely amazing! It was a birthday trip with six women who are pretty particular. The layout of the condo was perfect, three master bedrooms which comfortably sleep two (2 with king sized beds and one with 2 queens), each with a large, nice bathroom. There is also a small bedroom with a day bed/trundle & small bath. The whole place is beautifully appointed with custom window treatments and coordinating upholstery, bedding, headboards, etc. We all gathered in the living area (sooo nice & comfy) each morning for coffee, then walked just outside of the condo to either the beach or pool. There were always beach cabanas available for us, and cushions for our lounge chairs, as well as extra lounge chairs were delivered immediately every day. There is a little beach hut that sells drinks and food, which is owned and run by the nicest young couple; although the hours are sporadic. We often sat out on the condo's large, nicely furnished lanai in the afternoons watching the palm trees blow in the breeze and having wine. We took the shuttle many evenings to the Sanctuary (a gorgoeous hotel complex) which has four restaurants (we liked Capriccio and Blue Marlin the best), a few small shops, and a small night club...as well as to the Fishing Lodge which is another Marina complex; a "must see" for its architecture, views, and fantastic restaurant, the Bistro. A lot of the places within the Marina complex are still being built/developed, so there is really no shopping other than a small market. The only cons were: a) our coffee maker didn't work, but Liz sent Catalina (housekeeper) to replace that right away, b) the dishwasher didn't work, but Catalina came by and washed the dishes a couple of times and c) there is more of a language barrier at the Aquamarina condo complex if you don't speak Spanish. The other areas within Cap Cana are just a quick shuttle ride away and most everyone speaks fairly good English. But overall it was a wonderful, beautiful place to stay; every single person we encountered was very friendly, happy, and accommodating. Everything about Cap Cana is absolutely breathtaking; almost surreal! I would highly recommend choosing this condo for so many reasons. We will definitely stay there when we return, which we have all decided we will try to do every year! Thank you Liz & Catalina....it was the trip of a lifetime!!!

  My girlfriend and I recently stayed and this condo and we couldn't have dreamed of a better place! From the moment the cab dropped us off in the Marina we were in awe of our surroundings. The location is exactly where the listings says it is and the photos are even more beautiful in person. From the condo you can walk out the back of the balcony and be on the beach within one minute or in a beautiful pool within 30 seconds. The condo was very clean and very well-maintained. The A/C control in each room allowed for a perfect comfortable environment inside even when it was very hot outside. From the condo you can take the complimentary shuttle anywhere in Cap Cana including some other pristine beaches like Juanillo and Caleton Beach. You also have your pick of very nice restaurants like La Palapa at Caleton Beach Club that is very nice and a few within walking distance of the condo at La Marina. I would definitely recommend this property to any friends or relatives and when I return to Cap Cana I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

  My husband, myself, my sister and brother-in-law stayed there at the end of July and absolutely loved it! In fact, we loved it so much that we've already planned to go back next summer with all of our kids! We loved how clean and immaculate the condo was as well as the rest of the resort. Everyone who works there is so friendly and the food at the restaurants was delicious. If you are looking for beautiful beaches & water, a romantic setting yet fun enough for your children then this is YOUR place! My husband and I like to travel and went to Bora Bora 2 years ago, BUT we won't go back there again...we will go to the Dominican Republic and stay in this condo! You will not be disappointed...I promise!

  Our family of 6 (including 4 children ranging from teens to preschool age) stayed at this wonderful condo over spring break of 2011. When we arrived late one night we were greeted by Catalina, the housekeeper who warmly welcomed us and showed us to the condo. Everything was immaculately clean and very spacious; beautifully decorated. We enjoyed cooking and ate in the outdoor lanai area every day. The grounds were very beautiful and the security guards and staff were friendly. Nice and beach area and the kids loved the pool. A very quiet atmosphere. Shuttle available to activities within Cap Cana for no charge. The only negatives were that the master bedroom was a bit musty (the wing with the other bedro11oms was just fine) and water in the showers was luke warm. It was very helpful to know Spanish! A great vacation spot!

We have added a de-humidifier to the bedroom to help with the high humidity in the bedroom due to the close proximity to the beach. The humidity on the beach always increases in the spring and summer. We have also had someone look at the instant hot water heaters. It looks like there is an adjustment for the heat level.
