Somewhat dated but well kept. Excellent water access and great restaurants nearby. This is a great find with an "Old Florida" feel and view. We will be back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind review. Look forward to new updates and brand new tropical cottages in the year to come.

This was our third...or fourth time hanging at this "slice of paradise", as we have come to know it...Dom and Yvonne are great, we have gotten to know them and they are there if you need them....from places to see/do or if something needs attention.....This is such a great slice of Jupiter/old Florida....The setting is great...you have the best of both the Jupiter River in your backyard with "paddle board yoga" going and then a 5 minute walk to the gorgeous Jupiter inlet/beach....The morning coffee on the dock and the cooking out in the back over looking the Jupiter river and the beautiful tropical plants and trees right there in the yard is an amazing site....We love the ability to take out the kayak if we want...walk to the beach, walk to some great local restaurants right down the street....We enjoy everything about Yvonne and Dominic's Paradise... Like I said earlier in the review we have been here a number of times and will be back AGAIN next year.....Thanks again Yvonne and Dom for sharing this great slice of paradise.....See you guys next year..or sooner...!!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

This was our second time to stay at this cottage and we will return again many times I am sure. We love the cottage, comfortable and has everything we could possibly need. The location is wonderful. We have a boat so the dock is perfect. The owners are great people and are there if we need anything. We can not say enough nice things about this place. We love it.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Connie, We strive to please. We are looking forward to giving the cottage a complete new tropical look, with one addition unit built this summer. Keep in touch. Thank you once more.

Stayed at this cozy small cottage for 5 nights. The outside look of this place will fool you till you see the inside. Don't go by the external looks...it is actually a pretty nice cottage with adequate room for 4 people. Don't expect to see the rooms like Embassy suites or any good hotels. This is more of a rustic setting and for people who like to have the open space and the convenience of being close to everything. My kids are 12 and 9. This house sits on an acre+ property, close to all the restaurants you need, and yet having your own privacy. The backyard is a few steps from the Jupiter Inlet river via a private dock. They were kind enough to lend us a kayak that we used all the days going around the island. You can see the Burt Reynolds park and the Lighthouse while kayaking. They upgraded the water heater. All appliances were working, except for the fridge ice maker. House is clean inside with no signs of crawling creatures.Walk to the beach maybe like 10 mins or so. We drove like a mile to the southern most tip of the Dog beach area and that was very convenient. Good restaurants are close by. Bubba Gump restaurant is a couple of minutes walk away and convenient if you want to take a Manatee Queen cruise to see the celebrity homes and manatee sightings. They seem to have fixed quite a few house issues from people's feedback. Owner, Capt Dominic, is an interesting chap and a local celebrity for his treasure hunting glory. His wife Yvonne is an author. You will hear his name when you go on the cruise and about the treasure finding stories. Overall, very good experience.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Jim. You and your family are delightful. We love it here in Jupiter, and want our guests to enjoy it just as much. New additions regularly occur for your pleasure.

We enjoyed a great Xmas week in the cottage. If you are looking for an up-to-date condo environment, this is not for you. This is an old Florida cottage that has been fixed up to make for a comfortable stay. The appliances are modern and the beds are comfy. The waterfront location is peaceful and relaxing. A walk to the jetty and beach takes about 10 mins. and a drive about 5, with free parking. We shared the cottage with our daughter and her husband and found the space and arrangement to be more than adequate. Don't miss a chance to chat with the owners. Captain Dom is a fund of great stories. We are looking forward to doing it again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to submit a review. With each new wave of guests, we add new features. We enjoyed meeting you and your family, and pleased you were comfortable. Wish you all the best in this new year.

We loved this funky little cottage. It was fresh and clean, and newly painted. We rented the cottage for a week in November. I read the reviews before deciding about past concerns. I was assured that there were no plumbing problems, no mold and no critters and it could be more than cool if need be. Sitting out on the dock in the morning with our coffee was fantastic. Then with our cocktails in hand at night to watch the breathtaking sunsets. Peaceful, scenic, Old Florida charm... Dominic and Yvonne were very kind and full of interesting information on cooking and Treasure diving. Captain Dom is a real Treasure Hunter. We would totally recommend this destination for a more personal Florida experience. Oh, did I mention we walked to the intracoastal and the ocean within minutes. There are also several local restaurants and watering holes right across the street. Very cool place. We'll be back! Many thanks~Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you. We are pleased you were happy with our new modifications. Viewers, note that cottage has NO retail or entertainment across the street. They are in walking distance.

I want to start by saying the owners, Dominic and Yvonne are very nice and helpful. They were attentive and understanding of my frustrations upon arrival. However the description did not match the interior of the "cottage". Many things in need of repair: leaks, plumbing issues, mold and water damage. Bugs, worms and lizards crawling every surface, even dead lizards in ceiling over master bed. My mother came to visit and having been in the income property business for some 30 years, expressed concerns with electrical and safety. Once I got past that I was essentially living in a cabin on the river, I made the best of my 2.5 months there. It is what it is, but it certainly is not what is described in the listing and I would not rent it again for the price I paid. I was reluctant to post a review because I understand the situation the owners are in, but had I read the previous review before I rented it, I would have saved myself some serious cash and grief.Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: Yvonne and I wish to thank this reviewer about the kind words about our personalities. We prefer to think of our 75 year old waterfront property as an original “Florida Cracker Type Cottage”, rather than a “cabin by the river”. But as this tenant stated it is what it is. Our cottage is of CBS construction. As in the tropics, most woods, especially along the river front just won’t survive the test of time and humidity. We must apologize to this tenant. We were out of state this summer when she moved in. The cleaning folks left the air conditioners off, in an attempt to save us money! This is a no, no in the tropics, especially during the hottest summer on record. Being right on the water, this may have stimulated some of the unwanted guests this temporary tenant, who just relocated from Denver Colorado, where colder, dryer climates don’t support some of south Florida’s interesting chameleons and other crawling critters, especially again near the water. Upon her justified complaints, we altered the agreement and absorbed the electrical utilities, that were to be her responsibility – so the air conditioners could run constantly and address the mold issues that developed from them being off for an extended period before her occupancy. Wanting her and her daughter to be happy and content, we also altered our original agreement so that once she found a new domicile that suited her, she could move out early. Once she departed, we had plumbers come in and completely remove the aging copper fixtures in the wall causing the bath tub fixtures to drip, retained the services of a professional cleaning and painting service to thoroughly clean and repaint portions of the cottage, repaired closet doors that were binding and generally upgraded our quaint rental cottage by the river. As it is already booked from January to March of this coming year, along with a portion of April, by returning guests, for a second year, we wish to be sure they are just as pleased with our cottage and its unique location, as they have been in the past.

We arrived on July 7th the outside of the property was unkept, with trees growing through the siding & sofit and fascia palm fronds all over the place and the gate to get in was old and about to fall off. We looked over to the river behind to see th dock. What a JOKE it had boards missing, boards warped and sticking up. Then we went inside and met the property manager as the owners who said the lived next door were not home. The woman asked me to write a check right away because she wanted to get it to the bank she gave us a quick tour and left. The house was hot and smelled like old wet wood. We went to the store to get some provisions, and ran into the woman that took our money and we told her the thernostat was on 70 but it was 78 in the house she called the owner wo called back and said oh put it on 60 so we did. We left for 3 hours and when we came back it was still measuring 78. There was black mold in the one bathroom, the toilet wouldn't flush and the wate valve was turned off so tight we were afraid to keep trying to turn it on for fear it would break. That same bathroom had ceramic tiles missing on the floor of the shower.. We called the owners back and told them of the additional problems besides the one that the air conditioner still wasn't cooling. We couldn't stay we didn't expect the Taj Mahal but we expected, a clean and functioning property. We scrambled and found a hotel down the road that would accept our dog and we got OUT OF THIS HOUSE. I stopped payment on the check and we called the owners again and told them to take $100.00 for the 3 hours we actually were in the house but due to the fact the house was in disrepair we would like a refund of the rest.. WE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM.. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PEOPLE !!! I suggest you stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOMEOwner response: We contacted renter prior to arrival, notifying that we would not be there to greet them as we normally do. We live right next door. We hired a professional house cleaner to greet them. We responded to request to phone in regards to their concerns and immediately responded by calling in not one, but two air conditioning companies. Both stated it was the hottest 2 weeks of the year and short of replacing the central unit, placing extra window units was the answer. You can see from our time stamped photos we added in addition to existing working central a/c. two NEW window units. The odor encountered was caused by cottage having been empty for one week – without the air conditioning unit on. Unfortunately our house cleaner, attempting to save us money left the air conditioner off. Traditionally, our air-conditioner is kept on, during hot periods to keep the air circulating and refreshed. This however is no longer a problem. Our air conditioning service man could have installed the window units while renters were there but they had already moved on. Claims of black mold in one bathroom: Upon our arrival there was no black mold. Yes, our quaint 60 year old Florida Cracker cottage has older grout in its shower but it is clean and not black mold. Replacement tile, where some had loosened in the shower, has been recently re-installed. This area has now been dug out and replaced with fresh white grout. Toilet: Our findings are that the toilet flushes properly and the valve was turned on. Perhaps it was stiff from not being turned in years as no one else has had a problem with this toilet but it is flushing fine. Possibly the float may have been stuck but upon our arrival, simply pushing down the lever flushed properly. Dock: Repair scheud. 7/16 As for unilaterally notifying we to take 100.00 for being there 3 hours, just plain did not happen. We agreed, that as they obviously were not happy with the cottage, where others have been happy with for over 5 years of renting it through VROB; that they should cancel their second check and find a place that better suits them. We suggested they call us the next day after the two did whatever they decided to, but no one did. This is not a hotel. We normally book our quaint pet friendly cottage normally, over six months to a year in advance to understanding people with pets.

My family of four booked the quaint Addario cottage for our summer vacation this year. We were familiar with the area before we rented it and knew the location was going to be perfect for us. We were right! The easy access to Dubois Park was great for our two boys ages 7 and 10. The dock off the back (front?) of the cottage was excellent for launching our kayaks and fishing. And Jupiter is great about having a bike lane on the beach road so we could ride our bikes to Carlin Park. We listened to music from Guauabana's right off the back deck - don't worry it's not very loud but nice background music! And one of the best parts of trip was the beds were EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE! I would stay in this cottage again for sure and recommend to a small family or two couples. Thank you Yvonne and Dominic for this great summer home! - Christine & Jerry MalteseRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
