  The most unique thing about our rentals is we are a 'Mom and Pop' type family style rentals. On purpose we decided to keep our little business small and fun. We are located in a residential area. NOT A HUGE condominium type thing or a 55+ trailer park. From the front of our home just off the road our home looks like a normal typical 1950's bungalow.............. but once you go through the back private gate....... It's paradise! Between our home and the cottage is the pool and 'tubbie' This creates a completley private space for you. Of course the pool and 'tubbie' would be guests to use as they prefer. In the 'winter' Dec-Feb. we try to maintain the pool temperature at a nice warm 76-78 degrees. By the end of Feb.the pool temp. is a warm 80-85 degrees.The reason I tell people this,is that many people think that when it is advertized as a heated pool that is not true. The best part is, since guests don't have to 'fight, bribe or lunge or have someone hold your lounge chair lest it be claimed by some poor soul who has been wandering around vainly trying to find that *perfect* lounger. Whether a guest is on a cruise or at some condo or worst of all those 55+community we strive to be the exact opposite. At your home here it's so private that we only need 2 loungers with 'comfy' cushions. Our backyard is {private, quiet, lushly landscaped and Ohhhhh so quiet!}. We have 1grapefruit tree, 1tangerine tree, 1navel orange tree, 1sweet juicer orange tree, 1keylime tree and 1poor struggling lemon tree. The grapefruit tree will produce fruit yearly the other fruit trees are seasonal.{note} My youngest son usually tries to buy me a fruit tree for special occasions. We also have a huge papaya tree. So tall it's nearly impossible to pick the fruit. If you like privacy and safety and art, gardening or just reading a book this is the place for you! I am an artist and enjoy many mediums. My main passion is pottery so officially I am a Potter. I also do glass work, which for me encourages me to become more creative and also rejuvinates me. I do ceramics and the really neat thing is my guests are told to feel free to 'putter' about my studio. This is free of charge to 'putter' about. I do charge a very minimal amount for paint, glaze and firing based on what you create. Since the cost of glazes and firing can become rather expensive. OK,enough about the art. The entire yard is fenced in so if you do have a favorite pet, no worries they are safe. We have a Choc/Springer spaniel we also think has a bit of otter in her because she is truly an amazing swimmer. The only toys she likes are toys that are sinkable so she can dive to retrieve them. We also will 'pet sit your Fido, kitty, birdie, hamsters or whatever God's creature is your favorite. I also have an organic veggie garden that for me living in Fl. I can grow some sort of veggie or herb year/long. If you enjoy phsical exersize we have bikes, 1-women's and 1-mens free for your use. Not flashy bikes, but in greast shape. There is a trail Pinellas Bike trail that is a wonderful renovated train line. You can bike from St. Petersburg (south) to Tarpon Springs (north) Tarpon Springs is a very cool historical town. Sponge divers from Greece came over hundreds of years ago to dive for {what else}SPONGES. To this day they still dive for the sponges. But the main attractions now are the quaint, cosy shops for tourists there also is an awesome resturant called Pappas' The favorite dish is called {what else?} Greek salad. Underneath heaping plate of lettuce and feta cheese is a surprise which I am not going to say what it is. Our guests will have to check it out themselves. The seafood is excellent, I would reccomend the fried Calamari. This area in Tarpon Springs is about a 1/2 hour drive depending on the time of day. The police department is rather small, but 'mighty' Watch your speed. If you prefer to ride bikes it takes about 1 or 1/2 to 2 hours. Keep in mind that Fl. does not have many hills. Mostly flat the Pinellas trail is very flat and easy to ride. a beautiful ride, For the first time ever I am going to be giving classes on Stand Up Paddling Or {SUP} I have paddled for years and kyaking was my first love, but then SUP came along and I was hooked! If any guest is interested in paddling I will come up with price that would be satisfactory.I also will hopefully be providing kyaks {2} I have 2 SUP boards. 1 is older, but works well so it could be a could be couples 'date' As for other interesting things to do. There is the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete. and the Chihully Glass museum. That is a Must See! Truly breathtaking. Busch 1gardens Amusement Park is about 1 hour north of here and I would reccomend that over Disney World anytime. Disney World is about a 2 hour drive again depending on traffic. ...morecollapse
