The most unique thing about our rentals is we are a 'Mom and Pop' type family style rentals. On purpose we decided to keep our little business small and fun. We are located in a residential area. NOT A HUGE condominium type thing or a 55+ trailer park. From the front of our home just off the road our home looks like a normal typical 1950's bungalow.............. but once you go through the back private gate....... It's paradise! Between our home and the cottage is the pool and 'tubbie' This creates a completley private space for you. Of course the pool and 'tubbie' would be guests to use as they prefer. In the 'winter' Dec-Feb. we try to maintain the pool temperature at a nice warm 76-78 degrees. By the end of Feb.the pool temp. is a warm 80-85 degrees. The reason I tell people this,is that many people think that when it is advertized as a heated pool that is not true. The best part is, since guests don't have to 'fight, bribe or lunge or have someone hold your lounge chair lest it be claimed by some poor soul who has been wandering around vainly trying to find that *perfect* lounger. Whether a guest is on a cruise or at some condo or worst of all those 55+community we strive to be the exact opposite. At your home here it's so private that we only need 2 loungers with 'comfy' cushions. Our backyard is {private, quiet, lushly landscaped and Ohhhhh so quiet!}. We have 1grapefruit tree, 1tangerine tree, 1navel orange tree, 1sweet juicer orange tree, 1keylime tree and 1poor struggling lemon tree. The grapefruit tree will produce fruit yearly the other fruit trees are seasonal.{note} My youngest son usually tries to buy me a fruit tree for special occasions. We also have a huge papaya tree. So tall it's nearly impossible to pick the fruit. If you like privacy and safety and art, gardening or just reading a book this is the place for you! I am an artist and enjoy many mediums. My main passion is pottery so officially I am a Potter. I also do glass work, which for me encourages me to become more creative and also rejuvinates me. I do ceramics and the really neat thing is my guests are told to feel free to 'putter' about my studio. This is free of charge to 'putter' about. I do charge a very minimal amount for paint, glaze and firing based on what you create. Since the cost of glazes and firing can become rather expensive. OK,enough about the art. The entire yard is fenced in so if you do have a favorite pet, no worries they are safe. We have a Choc/Springer spaniel we also think has a bit of otter in her because she is truly an amazing swimmer. The only toys she likes are toys that are sinkable so she can dive to retrieve them. We also will 'pet sit your Fido, kitty, birdie, hamsters or whatever God's creature is your favorite. I also have an organic veggie garden that for me living in Fl. I can grow some sort of veggie or herb year/long. If you enjoy phsical exersize we have bikes, 1-women's and 1-mens free for your use. Not flashy bikes, but in greast shape. There is a trail Pinellas Bike trail that is a wonderful renovated train line. You can bike from St. Petersburg (south) to Tarpon Springs (north) Tarpon Springs is a very cool historical town. Sponge divers from Greece came over hundreds of years ago to dive for {what else}SPONGES. To this day they still dive for the sponges. But the main attractions now are the quaint, cosy shops for tourists there also is an awesome resturant called Pappas' The favorite dish is called {what else?} Greek salad. Underneath heaping plate of lettuce and feta cheese is a surprise which I am not going to say what it is. Our guests will have to check it out themselves. The seafood is excellent, I would reccomend the fried Calamari. This area in Tarpon Springs is about a 1/2 hour drive depending on the time of day. The police department is rather small, but 'mighty' Watch your speed. If you prefer to ride bikes it takes about 1 or 1/2 to 2 hours. Keep in mind that Fl. does not have many hills. Mostly flat the Pinellas trail is very flat and easy to ride. a beautiful ride, For the first time ever I am going to be giving classes on Stand Up Paddling Or {SUP} I have paddled for years and kyaking was my first love, but then SUP came along and I was hooked! If any guest is interested in paddling I will come up with price that would be satisfactory.I also will hopefully be providing kyaks {2} I have 2 SUP boards. 1 is older, but works well so it could be a could be couples 'date' As for other interesting things to do. There is the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete. and the Chihully Glass museum. That is a Must See! Truly breathtaking. Busch 1gardens Amusement Park is about 1 hour north of here and I would reccomend that over Disney World anytime. Disney World is about a 2 hour drive again depending on traffic. ...morecollapse

I know this is quite some time after our trip, but I couldn't resist much longer. Everything was amazing for me and my wife! Everything was clean and the location was perfect! We both talk about the week we spent here.

My husband and I spent 4 weeks in this cute cottage. It was peaceful and had everything we needed for our Florida get-away (from Portland Oregon rain!) The owners are on-site and are there for your every need. The cottage is convenient to shopping, restaurants, banks, etc. and a short distance to a long stretch of beautiful beach. Very casual and "beachy" and perfect for one or two people. It's nice that pets are welcome. Even though we did not bring one along, we enjoyed the ones that were there!

Ellie, Joe, Bessie, and Thrasher made our stay warm and memorable. The guest house was just perfect for a girls get away. My friend and I were able to relax by the pool, go to the beach, and take nice afternoon naps. Every thing we could have ever wanted and more was waiting for us in the guest house. Ellie and Joe are wonderful hosts, and gave us privacy but also were helpful and friendly. Bessie and Thrasher the "wonder" dogs are amazing swimmers, and joined us in the pool on more than one occasion. We just can't say enough good things! If you are considering staying here, DO IT! It is a wonderful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches, yet you are only a few minutes away from it all. We will be back for sure!

This little poolhouse is exactly as it is described. Perfect for our family of 4 and our little dog too! We found the tidy house to be exactly what we were looking for. When we go on vacation, we get out and go so all we need is a place to sleep and clean up. The owners made us feel welcomed. The property is fantastic. The house and contents were hospital clean and if we needed anything, upon asking was provided! We will definetly return here and look forward to doing so. Thanks again to both of you. The Ross'

We enjoyed our stay at the little "housie." We appreciated the peacefulness and privacy as well as the outdoor surroundings. We took too much with us because we brought our two dogs....dog beds, dog cage, etc. So, with them and their "stuff" and us two with our "stuff" (too much of it), it was a little crowded. The fenced yard was great, and the neighborhood was perfect for walking them if we chose. Our host and hostess were friendly and helpful. It is a neat little place.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: I'm a transplant from Michigan and have always detested cold weather. My parents immigrated with 4 of my older siblings from the Netherlands. They also loved the cooler weather. I moved here in 1990 and bought my house with the little cottage thnking my parents would love it for a place for them to retire part-time. But unfortunatley they passed on so I decided to turn it into a seasonal rental. I love meeting new people and have made many great friends by starting this little venture. It truly is a joy for me to make vacationers comfortable and happy. I have a knack to know when the visitors want privacy or a bit of a 'talk'. We know that people value their privacy and respect this. So far this has been a great experience for me and my husband and We love it! I also am an artist {potter} and enjoy working in the warm weather. I also do glass work and I will soon be doing Bi/weekly art shows in the local area. My pottery is functional pottery. I love making things that people can use for everyday type cooking. I do some creative sculptures, such as fish and seaside scenes and all of my art has a special stamps {numerous ones} that my father created for me before he passed away. Most potters have a special signiture and mine is the stamps which have such meaning to me. Any guest, male or femal;e or both can 'play' in my studio free of charge. Chidren love it! I do unfortunatley have to charge a minimal amount for the glazes and firing as the electric is pricey and glase is very expensive.

Why the Owner Chose Belleair Bluffs:
I just knew that this was the perfect place for my husband and me. If you read the visitor comments you will get an idea why this is such a popular place. Actually in order to book for the winter months it should be done a year in advance. Summer bookings are not as difficult.

The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The best thing about living here is the close proximity to our beach! I also love the small town feel of the area. I love to garden and having a fenced private yard is like owning a private park. I also love doing pottery in an on-site studio and when available you are welcome to watch or even get dirty trying your hand at it! A great benefit is the biking trail close by, beach 1.5 miles away and so many shops and resturants in walking distance. I know the area very well, so as a result I am able to give you some different ideas other than the normal theme parks to visit. St Petersburg has some of the best museums to visit, including the 'Salvador Dali' and 'Chihully Glass Museum' I also know of some 'secret' dog beaches and all of the tricks for free parking at the beaches. Some nearby beaches have free parking which is an added bonus. On site pottery and glass studio. Free to get dirty :)
