My husband and I spent 4 weeks in this cute cottage. It was peaceful and had everything we needed for our Florida get-away (from Portland Oregon rain!) The owners are on-site and are there for your every need. The cottage is convenient to shopping, restaurants, banks, etc. and a short distance to a long stretch of beautiful beach. Very casual and "beachy" and perfect for one or two people. It's nice that pets are welcome. Even though we did not bring one along, we enjoyed the ones that were there!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Ellie, Joe, Bessie, and Thrasher made our stay warm and memorable. The guest house was just perfect for a girls get away. My friend and I were able to relax by the pool, go to the beach, and take nice afternoon naps. Every thing we could have ever wanted and more was waiting for us in the guest house. Ellie and Joe are wonderful hosts, and gave us privacy but also were helpful and friendly. Bessie and Thrasher the "wonder" dogs are amazing swimmers, and joined us in the pool on more than one occasion. We just can't say enough good things! If you are considering staying here, DO IT! It is a wonderful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches, yet you are only a few minutes away from it all. We will be back for sure!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway.

This little poolhouse is exactly as it is described. Perfect for our family of 4 and our little dog too! We found the tidy house to be exactly what we were looking for. When we go on vacation, we get out and go so all we need is a place to sleep and clean up. The owners made us feel welcomed. The property is fantastic. The house and contents were hospital clean and if we needed anything, upon asking was provided! We will definetly return here and look forward to doing so. Thanks again to both of you. We enjoyed our stay at the little "housie." We appreciated the peacefulness and privacy as well as the outdoor surroundings. We took too much with us because we brought our two dogs....dog beds, dog cage, etc. So, with them and their "stuff" and us two with our "stuff" (too much of it), it was a little crowded. The fenced yard was great, and the neighborhood was perfect for walking them if we chose. Our host and hostess were friendly and helpful. It is a neat little place.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I'm a transplant from Michigan and have always detested cold weather. My parents immigrated with 4 of my older siblings from the Netherlands. They also loved the cooler weather. I moved here in 1990 and bought my house with the little cottage thnking my parents would love it for a place for them to retire part-time. But unfortunatley they passed on so I decided to turn it into a seasonal rental. I love meeting new people and have made many great friends by starting this little venture. It truly is a joy for me to make vacationers comfortable and happy. I have a knack to know when the visitors want privacy or a bit of a 'talk'. We know that people value their privacy and respect this. So far this has been a great experience for me and my husband and We love it! I also am an artist {potter} and enjoy working in the warm weather. I also do glass work and I will soon be doing Bi/weekly art shows in the local area. My pottery is functional pottery. I love making things that people can use for everyday type cooking. I do some creative sculptures, such as fish and seaside scenes and all of my art has a special stamps {numerous ones} that my father created for me before he passed away. Most potters have a special signiture and mine is the stamps which have such meaning to me. Any guest, male or femal;e or both can 'play' in my studio free of charge. Chidren love it! I do unfortunatley have to charge a minimal amount for the glazes and firing as the electric is pricey and glase is very expensive.
Why the Owner Chose Belleair Bluffs:
I just knew that this was the perfect place for my husband and me.
If you read the visitor comments you will get an idea why this is such a popular place. Actually in order to book for the winter months it should be done a year in advance. Summer bookings are not as difficult.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The best thing about living here is the close proximity to our beach!
I also love the small town feel of the area. I love to garden and having a fenced private yard is like owning a private park. I also love doing pottery in an on-site studio and when available you are welcome to watch or even get dirty trying your hand at it!
A great benefit is the biking trail close by, beach 1.5 miles away and so many shops and resturants in walking distance. I know the area very well, so as a result I am able to give you some different ideas other than the normal theme parks to visit. St Petersburg has some of the best museums to visit, including the 'Salvador Dali' and 'Chihully Glass Museum'
I also know of some 'secret' dog beaches and all of the tricks for free parking at the beaches. Some nearby beaches have free parking which is an added bonus.
On site pottery and glass studio. Free to get dirty :)
