Cedar Log Cabin in the Woods - Master Has Fireplace, Sky Light
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Highlands
Getting up to the cabin is quick and easy for us with a 2 hour flight into Atlanta from Miami and then an easy drive to Highlands. As easy as it is to get to it seems a million miles away once you get there.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We have the best of both worlds with Main Street less than 10 minutes away and the solitude of the cabin. Highlands is a great little town with lots to offer including great restaurants, shopping, art, culture, all with a friendly atmosphere.
Wonderful, very complete local grocery store. Much more reasonable than grocery on Main St.
Owner's Map of Highlands
My daughter and I (pictured) have shared Casa Sueños with our friend Pat ever since Pat and I were wandering down Main Street in Highlands and got curious about what the area had to offer. We walked into a realtor and asked what they had in mountain log cabins with fireplaces. Casa Sueños was the first property they showed us and it was love at first sight. We didn't plan to buy but we left the proud owners and have been loving it ever since.

Perfect place to get away from it all

This cabin was exactly what my family and I were looking for in a cabin. The rustic feel with all the modern amenities. Everywhere you look you see attention to the little details that are there to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Cozy beyond our expectations - so much so we just had to stay an extra night to enjoy it all!! Even the young kids and the teenagers thought it was wonderful. The air is fresh and clean and the beauty of nature is everywhere around you. Sitting out on the deck and watching the sky lighten from dark to full light as the sun rises and the birds chirp around you with none of the city sounds to get in your way is absolutely amazing. When you are there, you feel like you are the only human for miles but only 7 miles away there are all the conveniences of town. And only 2 miles up the street is one of the most specacular mountain views I've ever seen. I can't wait to visit the area again and when I do, there's no doubt I'll be looking up Casa Suenos as our place to stay! Thanks Karl for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin!! Mike L
Owner response:Thanks Mike! Glad you and your family made it your own. It was a pleasure having you and we'll be looking forward to your return. Karl

We had a great stay at Casa Sueños. The cabin is well-equipped, roomy and comfortable. You are really just 10 minutes from Highlands, but you feel a lot further away in this wooded retreat. The one-level layout is great for small children, but keep in mind that there are no bathtubs. We would definitely recommend this rental house.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Casa Suenos. After a great day of visiting nearby Dry Falls, and a beautiful hike into Glen Falls, the hot tub on the deck was a very welcome sight! The cabin is secluded enough for quiet rejuvenation, and close enough to town for an easy drive to several nice restaurants. I would highly recommend this for an awesome couples get-away, or a fun filled family excursion. We will be back again!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words. We'll be looking forward to your return. Karl

Casa Suenos is in such a lovely setting in the woods. Both beauty and privacy, but within a short jaunt to all the delights of the Highlands area. Can't miss Paoletti's. Although our trekking and exploring activities took up a lot of the day, we loved coming back to the cabin and just relaxing. The comfortable swing on the porch is a perfect place for reading or just gazing around; the hot tub is wonderful for enjoying a glass of champagne (most especially if it is raining). And did I mention the great master bed under the skylight? I recommend both Highlands and Casa Suenos for a holiday or a longer stay. We so appreciate that it is pet-friendly, so that our bearded collie could accompany us.

Like the ad says: Casa Sueños is a magical escape into a Fairy Tale setting. We had a fantastic family vacation. The cabin is in a beautiful location surrounded by woods and minutes away from Highlands. There are so many different things to do in the area for people of all ages. Make sure you check out the Visitor Center on Main Street for ideas.

My family of five had plenty of room in the extremely well equipped gorgeous cabin tucked into a mountain in Highlands. We stayed a week and loved the cabin so much, we rarely left. It is everything the description says it is and more. A very special place.

we had a terrific stay at the cabin. never sure what to expect from a rental, but was excellent! our kids had a ball in the hot tub and there are tons of games and puzzles to keep them occupied (not to mention the great satellite tvs - but we tried to keep that to a minimum!) one of the best things was the master bed. normally in a rental the beds are subpar, but it was a fantastic sleep! really surprised by that. highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing wonderful vacation.
