This is a unique old style beach cottage. It has been in the family since it was built in the early seventies.
The interior is all knotty pine tongue and groove with exposed knotty pine beams, cedar exterior. Very large porch with awesome view for long conversations and cocktails. A rooftop deck for massive island views. A comfortable affordable place for a family vacation, or just a small gathering of good friends. Very short walk to the beach, just over the dunes. Direct unobstructed sound view, in the popular Club Cologny neighborhood. Very nautical interior.Small non-shedding dogs allowed w/ additional fee and owner approval. If you want a nice good ole' N.C. beach time experience, you will love "The Cottage".

We loved the cottage from the moment we pulled into the driveway and saw the wonderful decks - and then when we went in and saw how charming, clean, and cool it was we were so happy! We'd driven from NH so it was a relief to find the cottage to be all Kathy said it would be and more. The walk to the beach was a breeze and the beach was great. Our family had a fabulous time and we would certainly do it again. Relaxing days on the beach; afternoons & evenings on the lovely deck; and nights in a wonderful cottage - who could ask for more!

My family and I had a WONDERFUL time at "the cottage". So comfortable, the pictures listed do NOT do this beautiful house justice. The beds were comfy, the house is in wonderful condition. My girls loved the room with bunk beds, however, my oldest is a moving sleeper, so they had to share the bottom bunk since the rail isn't very high off of the mattress, but if she didnt move so much in sleep it would have been perfect. My youngest often has issues at places other than home, but was at ease right off the bat. Everything we needed was already there, there are plenty of great restaurants nearby or within a short drive. We loved the short walk to the beach. And we really hope to return next summer. If you like horses, and finding shells, look into getting in on a tour of Shakleford Banks in Beaufort a few miles away. We wound up getting so close to the wild horses we could have touched them. And brought home bags of huge shells. You can choose to stay a minimum of 2 hours or all day before catching the ferry off the island. We chose only 2 hours, our two year old burns easily. But with older children/teens i see this easily being a place you can take a lunch with you and make a day of the island. The water is so clear and wonderful there. But know there is NO shade or buildings/concessions on the island.. if you will need it you MUST take it with you.

This was the PERFECT place for our family to vacation! 2 adults, 3 children & our small dog -- plenty of room, very relaxing & all the comforts of home! Our children really enjoyed hanging out on the top deck, & the view of the sounds side is great! It's within a comfortable walking distance of the beach & the neighbors are SUPER friendly! We can't wait to go back!!!

This place is comfortable, charming and definitely a must for families that want to be close to the ocean and truly relax. I would recommend this place to anyone. We had a wonderful time there.

If you want a fancy, oceanfront castle, then this is not for you. But if you want a cozy, clean house with good views and a nice stroll to the ocean, then look no further. We felt right at home upon entering and really enjoyed the large front porch. All comforts are here, bedrooms are nice. Only negative is the one bathroom. Not a problem for close families, though. Not an ideal place for a group of singles or several couples who really need their own bathrooms. The bunk bed room is ideal for children. Very nice owners who are dog-friendly. The outdoor shower is perfect for washing off sandy children and pets. We would most definately return and recommend this place to friends.
