We had a great family gathering at this place for the New Years weekend. Place had plenty of room with all the comforts of home. Very clean and a well stocked kitchen. We have stayed at a few vrbo properties and this one has been the best, Owners were very friendly, offered lots of information, and great to work with. It was an easy half hour drive in to DC for sightseeing and very close to lots of shopping but still very tranquil. Also very close were parks for more sightseeing. The kids loved the animals and our dog loved the place as well. Thanks Judy for such a great stay!!

This charming farmhouse in a beautiful natural setting was an amazing Thanksgiving getaway for my extended family. A quick trip on the metro allowed my family to spend our days in metro DC sightseeing and our afternoons hanging on the farm. The kids loved the animals and nearby parks. Most nights we cooked in the wonderful kitchen and then hung by the fireplace. I highly recommend Slippery Slope Farm as an ideal staging area to enjoy fabulous hectic DC as well as the surrounding parks and recreational areas just outside the back door. Invest in a weekly fast pass for the metro if you plan daily trips into DC. Don't miss the zoo,Spy Museum, or any of the Smithsonians.Check out the tower in the Old Post Office for a great overview of DC.

WOW, just looking back at the pictures makes us want to go back to this retreat. We had two families total of nine, and had plenty of room. The kids all got to sleep in one room together so they could visit til all hours. Lots of room and beds. Our trip was to visit DC, which was an easy and quick trip from the farm. Have to say though we started looking forward to getting back to the farm more each day. The kids ranging from teens to twelve, loved the animals and getting the chance to feed the baby goat. Sure was nice to cook our meals each night out on and the grill, while cathing up on a load of laundry. When we head back to this area, this will be where we plan to stay. Hated to leave, but can't wait to go back again sometime. Thank you for sharing your beautiful retreat farm with us Judy, and thank you to Natalie for sharing the anilmal experience with the kiddos.

My family and I stayed here the week of July 4th and it was awesome. My kids loved watching all the different types of animals place and it was fun watching the deer at night and in the early morning. Yes it is about 45 minutes from DC but we drove to Huntington VA, about 20 minutes, and took the train every morning. Judy was a great host and the house is very nice.

Our family (2 adults + 2 teenagers) have just returned from a weeklong stay in this property. The house is clean, comfortable and very relaxing. It is feels very much away from it all yet only a few minutes drive from the 210 Indian Head Highway. A particularly nice feature was the attached outside room with fly screens around it allowing outdoor dining or just sitting without the worry of flying insects. There was an ample supply of leaflets, detailed maps and a folder of useful information from the owners. The animals were friendly as were the people who came to look after them. There are plenty of activities/games for when not out sightseeing.

This was a perfect retreat for a group of city coworkers in dire need of some fresh air and blue-sky thinking. The house was clean, cozy and slept 7 folks inside just perfectly. Kitchen was roomy and well-appointed for a hungry crew to cook & nosh dinner. A couple of us camped out (those who wanted to) under the stars and treetops by the fire circle. The landscape is stunning, the animals were just precious and we can't wait to come back. The owner was delightful and gave us a very interesting tour of the farm.

The house and its setting were great. The house was clean and well-maintained. The property is beautiful. We commuted to DC for sightseeing almost everyday, and the commute did take some time out of each day, but it was well worth it. We really enjoyed getting out of the city, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing in a beautiful home, as opposed to spending our evenings in a hotel room and eating in restaurants. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We spent 10 days at this property with our family of six and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very clean, well-maintained and extremely private. The 40 minute drive to DC was totally worth the relaxing, rural environment. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
