This was my first time renting a home and the owner made it very simple. The home was very clean and well maintained. We had children aging from 8-2 and it accommodated our several families staying there very well. We have already talked about coming back next year for a longer stay and will definitely contact the owner again. Very close to Cranmore Mountain and downtown, but far enough to be private and not deal with the traffic around downtown. The owner was always available and responded to my emails very quickly. Definitely worth staying here!

Spacious house, included all the comforts and necessities of home! Fireplace and easy access to wood made for a relaxing evening after an eventful day of skiing. Beautiful, peaceful, private setting in the woods (w/in a mile of Mount Cranmore - we felt like we lived in the mountain!) but close to downtown restaurants and shops. The unique layout of this house provided privacy for adults, and also many large sized common areas (2 living rooms, open kitchen/dining area, and game room). We really liked the "woodsy"decor, clutter-free style, and up-to-date appliances.

This was my first time renting a home and Katie made the process so easy and worry-free. She was quick to respond and flexible in terms of arrival date/departure. The house is set back enough to be private and surrounded by trees, but only a few minutes to the north end of the main street in North Conway (right by the famous Zebs) and to Cranmore Mt. We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm and were pleased to find that although the road was set back a bit, it was quickly plowed. The house itself was very well-maintained and there were lots of "extras" in the kitchen - plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware. We had 4 adult couples for the weekend and there was plenty of space for everyone. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for an affordable weekend/week away and hope to be back soon!

This rental was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The major perks are an excellent location close to Cranmore, a ping pong table and sauna, and a very spacious living area with a fireplace and comfortable couches. Overall, however, my guests loved it, and we'll definitely be renting again. Also, when we had a question for the owner while we were renting, she got back to us within minutes. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I were on a roadtrip this past week and we made our way into New Hampshire, which is so beautiful! We were so happy to see our place and it was immaculate inside. It's very big, so it's great for big groups/families, but we had a great time just the 2 of us as well. We really appreciated the laundry and kitchen and the big living room to rest in after a long day of hiking. It really became a home away from home. Katie was absolutely great to deal with- she was so helpful and nice, and I felt very at ease in all my dealings with her. I would 100% absolutely come back!

We came to North Conway for a weekend away and we loved this house! The house was much bigger than we ever expected and even though there were 8 adults we didnt feel cramped at all! We were surprised (and ecstatic) to see all of the extras this house offers (such as all the kitchen pots/pans/utensils, etc). There were extra chairs around the house that we could use at the dining table and the eight of us comfortably sat for dinner. We also loved that even the 8th person to shower in the morning had hot water!!!! The property was clean and well maintained. I spoke with Katie (the owner) over email and phone and she was a delight to work with! Dont even think twice, this place is a "must rent" for a weekend stay!

Our family of 4 stayed at this property during the last week of September. We've rented in North Conway several times, but stayed at bed & breakfasts or hotels, which can be challenging at bedtime in a 1-room layout. We decided to rent a house and we are very happy we did. Birch Retreat was incredibly spacious...it has 2 levels, 2 living rooms, several bedrooms and 2 full baths, so there's plenty of room for everyone. It is extremely clean and felt like home. We were surprised at the many extras that were provided. We packed laundry detergent, softener, and some kitchen supplies but didn't need to because they were already there, Our boys enjoyed having their "own space" downstairs and we didn't even hear their early morning ping pong tournaments downstairs. There is plenty of space upstairs as well. A full kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace. It was very comfortable and clean. Katie (the owner) is very personable, and very prompt in getting back to you. We did the whole transaction over the phone, scanner & email. (gotta love technology)!! :) We will absolutely be booking this lovely home again and would recommend it to anyone at any season. We went to nearby Cranmore Resort for some awesome summertime activities, took a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad, shopped downtown & enjoyed the beautiful weather in this wonderful location! It was fun for the whole family! Thank you Katie for allowing us to rent this property. It was everything we wanted and more!

A great place to stay. Quiet, but close to town. The house had extra amenities that you don't find in most rentals - soap, laundry detergent, and some basic cooking needs in the kitchen (salt, pepper, flour, oil, etc.) We had a maintenance issue with the dryer and it was handled quickly and professionally. We only had time to stay a long weekend. My family all agreed we would be inclined to rent this location for another week in the future. We loved our stay here.

We just came back from our stay at this house and were very pleased with it. We were pleasantly surprised with the location which is about a 2 minute drive to Mt. Cranmore and is less than 5 minutes from the village. The layout of the house is perfect if you have multiple families, as there are bedrooms on both the top and bottom floors, allowing you to be away together, but still have privacy. We have small children, which can sometimes be difficult when traveling, but Katie (the owner) has addressed this by putting a safety gate (which can be folded to the side if you don't have children) at the top of the stairs. She also has a crib in the Master Bedroom closet, games such as Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders and DVD players in both of the living areas. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could think of. There are even two coffee pots, so we were able to make plain and flavored coffee every morning. The house is on a hill, which is perfect for sledding in the winter. We have gone to North Conway every year since I was a child and have always stayed in condos, but decided to try a house this year and are so happy that we did! We will definitely be back!

Our family had a great time over Thanksgiving weekend. We had our Thanksgiving dinner and did our annual Christmas shopping at the North Conway Outlets. The house was very clean and cozy. There was plenty of room and the house was well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would recommend it to our friends.

We had a great time staying here for a three family getaway ski weekend! There was plenty of place to sleep. The kids had their area downstairs and the adults has our area upstairs. We also had an infant with us so having the high chair, pack n play and crib were so convenient. We cooked in everynight and skiied two days at Attitash - it was so convenient. It was also nice to be able to head over to the Cranmore center to use the pool. Thanks so much and we hope to rent here again in the futre!

The Birch Retreat was a perfect getaway for our girl’s weekend. The place was very clean, roomy, very relaxing and close to everything, like it was stated. Each morning we all woke up, grabbed our cups of coffee and just enjoyed the gorgeous view out of the living room window. With the outlets right down the street it made for an exciting day of great deals. It was the PERFECT winter trip that we all needed from our hectic lives. Next time we will bring up our ski gear because the slopes are within waking distance. This was our first time away together and we're already talking about making it an annual one! I would and will recommend the Birch Retreat to friends and family, no question.

We have been going to North Conway in the Fall for several years now and stayed at many different rentals, but this is everyone's favorite so far. We had 3 couples and it was very comfortable for this size group. The house is super clean and has every amenity that you could possibly think of and then some. The landlord and her family were super to work with even with our last minute request for the rental. We are looking forward to our next trip and have even talked about looking at an extra trip in the Spring.

The house was perfect for us. We enjoyed our "down time" there. Prepared several meals, had all the utensils we needed to do so. The ping pong table was great, we all played at some time. It is a perefect place to spread out. No one felt like we were running into each other, you had plenty of your own space. Went on scenic drives and visited attractions in the area and it was always a great place to "come home to". Katie, the owner, is very personable and warm and easy to work with. We had a wonderful time.

Owner Katie was very pleasant and helpful. House was very well stocked with sheets, towels, kitchen appliances/gadgets, books, puzzles and on and on. We stocked up at the local market and made a lot of meals at the house. The house location was quiet and somewhat secluded, but convienient to all of the North Conway amenities. We visited a lot of areas in the White Mountain region (Lincoln, Franconia, Crawford Notch, Mt. Washington). I'd recommend the pond across from Pinkham Notch Visitor Center (North on Rt 16) at dusk for wildlife watching. Walk a short distance along the pond trail and stop on the footbridge to take it all in... beautiful!

This house was perfect! we have 4 kids and we definitely didn't want to cram all of us in a hotel. Staying at Katies house was just like being at home. We didn't even need to bring a portable crib or high chair. This house was equipped w/ everything you needed, which leaves more room in your car for shopping bags. Whats even better is its so close to everything we came to NH for. We're definitely looking forward to renting from Katie again. Thanks Katie for giving us the space we needed for a large family to spend some well needed family quality time together.

We are the owners of 11 cottages and a marina in Ontario and came down for a break and to come back to the White Mountians where I have spent many day exploring, hiking and climbing in the 70's. Being "in the business", this is a quality facility that is clean and very well equiped. There were only three of us but this would work very well for larger groups. "A Two Thumbs Up!!"

We spent a delightful week at Birch Retreat over Christmas. Friends stayed two doors away. Many evenings, all eleven of us gathered in the spacious living area enjoying a fire in the fireplace. We had every kind of electronic entertainment we might need and plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked for the holiday meals we prepared. Our group spanned 22 years to 81 and everyone had a good time and felt right at home. Some of us used the more than adequate gym facilities at Cranmoore and we explored nearby hiking trails. It was our first stay in northern NH and we loved it and hope to return soon. Katie could not have been more helpful, especially when it came to allowing us to bring and set up our own Christmas tree. Thanks for helping us create a memorable Christmas 2006.

If you're looking for a place to get away from it all - this is it! We rented the house from June 24 to July 1, 2006 and had a wonderful time; we would do it again in a heartbeat! The house looked great on the website, but it's even better in person. Our three school-age kids loved the house, too. They had "their own" living room downstairs while we enjoyed the upstairs. The house is so big that often we couldn't even hear them down there! The house is in a wooded area and it feels miles away from civilization but the main strip is actually very close and North Conway has everything you need. Katie was great to deal with. Thanks, Katie - we couldn't have been happier with our stay and will highly recommend the place to anyone!
