"Byfield House" is a sturdy, roomy and cozy 2400 square foot summer home that has been a retreat for the same family since its inception in the 30's. Walk through the entrance and be welcomed into a foyer whose large window frames the lake out front.
The large "L-shaped" front roomlooks directly over the lake and has several activity areas: a puzzle/conversation area, a lounge chair flanked by two walls of windows for comfortable, natural-light reading, an all purpose table for games, work, or snacking, and a conversation area with a TV.
The kitchen has a lakeview and boasts all the amenities of home including microwave,toaster-oven and electric coffee maker. There is a work table in the service area between the kitchen and the large, naturally bright dining room. The dining room table seats 10 people comfortably.
Across from the first floor laundry room with a new washer and dryer is the bright, small floral print wall papered lavatory.
The master bedroom has a canopied, four-poster bed with a striking view of the lake upon awakening through a bank of windows on the wall opposite the bed. The master suite also has a full private bath.
The second floor houses two cozy, window filled bedrooms with new and comfortable queen size beds, antique chests, and several lamps. It also has a wide hallway and a library area through which the spacious children's room with four single beds is accessible. A large full bath services the second floor.
The house sits just steps from the lake and has a dock, outdoor furniture, and grill. Surrounded by a tall cedar hedge for privacy, the yard is inviting, large and available for many family games and activities.

This is a Saturday to Saturday rental rental.
$125 non-returnable cleaning fee
$200 quickly returnable damage deposit
If you bring a pet, there is a returnable $200 "doggie deposit"

The weather was wonderful, the house large and roomy. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. Everything was very clean. The bottom of the lake is sandy and great for swimming. The older kids used the dock for great sunning!! We kept our boat right in front! We love the Byfield House!
