I'll echo the comments of earlier visitors. We thought the place definitely fit our standards for a family vacation. The house is not fancy, but it is comfortable and reasonably stocked. We cooked at the house each night, and there were plenty of pans, silverware, and dishes to serve us well. Next time, we may come prepared with more spices and other odds and ends to have on hand. There are some toys, but we were glad to have also brought our own. The house is well stocked for dog guests. The beach is just down the street. It's close enough for a quick walk between dinner and a toddler's bedtime. Just watch the tide tables to make sure the sand will be exposed. It isn't at high tide. The rocks at the south end of the beach will reveal lots of starfish and sea anemones, so be sure to check them out in low tide. The owner had good comments in response to my feedback directly to her (copied below), and that makes us more likely to stay here again. We had a great vacation. "We had a wonderful time at the beach house. It was so quiet and self-contained, exactly what we hoped. We also enjoyed introducing our young son to Wallace and Gromit! What a find in your video collection. He was also fond of the fish decor, the tiger in the kids room, and the picture of the three dogs. We loved the wifi, the seclusion, the close beach access, and having our dog with us on vacation. A couple of things spring to mind that would be really helpful and aren't expensive. The kitchen seems only to have a Pampered Chef can opener, which worked on many but not all of our cans. I think [my husband] sprung the muffin blueberries from their can with some combo of a hammer and I-don't-know-what. Another can opener would be great! Also, the light is out above the stove. We didn't find a replacement in the house anywhere. I'm not sure why this was, but none of the electrical outlets in the master bedroom worked except the one right by the door casing. We weren't sure you were aware of that and wanted to pass it along."

Owner response: HI Kathi & Steve-I am so happy that things worked out so well for you. I am glad that you and your family & doggie enjoyed your time there. Next time, I promise to have extra light bulbs & a better can opener!!!Thanks for taking the time to write this thoughtful review. Hope to have you as guests again sometime!

This was a great place to stay. Very quiet, clean and well equipped home away from home. The view was great. Neighbours friendly. The beach was the best for finding sand dollars and looking at starfish. Hard to get to the beach if you have any mobility issues. Manzanita and Cannon Beach very close for restaurants and shopping as well as Seaside and Warrenton so everthing you need is close by. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Also nice it is dog friendly. We loved it. In cannon beach don't go to seasons restaurant but all others we tried was fine.

This house looked good in the photos and the reviews, but the good news is that its better than the photos show. It is clean, bright and well-kept with large windows throughout. The view of the ocean, although not oceanfront is clear from the living room, dining room, kitchen and the upper deck in the backyard. Its great to have laundry facilities and an extra shower. There are games and comfy furniture and a very well equipped kitchen. Its simple and comfy, so if you're looking for something really fancy and upscale, this isn't for you, but its sweet and well maintained and even has beachy decor and a very relaxed homey feel. Its a great place for the price, which is very reasonable. Also, the beach is very close and interesting. It's sandy when the tide is low and rocky when the tide is in. But its very scenic and different from any other beach around. Its about a mile and a half walk to Arch Cape and really nice to take that walk in low tide conditions. In the evening when the tide was coming in, we made a bonfire on the rocks and enjoyed the sunset from there. It was quite perfect since we were protected from both sand and incoming ocean. We went to close-by Manzanita for groceries and to the farmer's market on Friday evening. That was fun! Music and good food. Highly recommended. (perhaps it's summer only?) We are looking forward to a return visit. Oh, yeah, did I say that it was quite roomy, with 3 bedrooms and a small extra room at the back of the house where you can exercise, nap, do yoga or bed down some people on the floor. OK, I guess that's enough compliments to a lovely house. Thanks, Dee!

This house was perfect for us because we like to be in more secluded areas. Oswald West surrounds the area of the house and the beach is very private. We weren't there a lot because we were with our family on their house right on Cannon Beach but we never saw another person on the beach when we were there. We loved that dogs were allowed and we had a little yard for Angus. The house was close to Manzanita and Cannon beach but private. It was a really short drive for hiking at Oswald West & Ecola State Park and going to the small towns to meet with our other family. The price was affordable for us and the house quaint but not too fancy. We loved the barn swallows that were nesting there and seeing the chipmunks and other wild life. It was advertised that hiking trails were accessible from the house but we weren't sure where. Some information about trails, tides and restaurants would be nice to have available at the house. Also the owner was very nice and accessible for information. Thanks!

Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review for us!! We are so glad that the home was a good fit for your family and your doggie. I agree that we need to have some good info on the local hiking trails and I am sure our restaurant info needs to be updated. Thank you for this input and we hope you come back and enjoy the home again sometime soon.

This property has an updated bathroom which is nice and a very functional kitchen. No problem with the wifi as well as TV. There is a nice view to the ocean and it is just a short walk to the beach access. Quiet! The bed was comfortable and we slept extremely well, perhaps all the walking in rain and wind during the typical Oregon winter storm weather.

This was my second stay in the area and my first in this home. The house is very nice! It is well maintained and very clean. Tile floors in the kitchen, plenty of cooking utensils and pots/pans, and even plates that match! The wood stove is nice and really puts out the heat. The bathroom is clean and modern. There is a partial ocean view from the living room and the outside deck has a nice view as well. The neighborhood of Falcon Cove is nice and very quiet. The owner is great to deal with. Overall, a very enjoyable stay!

We stayed at this Falcon Cove home with 2 other families. We had plenty of room... all the kids bedded down on the floor in the back den. It was nice to be able to close the door or not trip over their bedding all day. The back deck was also a great place to unwind, in addition to the beach, of course. We loved it and know where to stay the next time we head south.

My boyfriend and I just got back from our trip to the Oregon Coast and had an amazing time! This property that we rented was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for and the price was amazing! We had everything we needed to feel relaxed and right at home and enjoyed the little extras very much! The place was clean, comfortable, had a great outdoor area, where we got to enjoy sunshine all day long and the owners were great to deal with! I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect spot to relax, just a few minute walk to the beach!!

The house is so incredibly inviting, warm and comfortable. It is so easy to want to stay longer. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. The home is tucked away in an amazing cove. But for the few houses nearby it feels very private. I STRONGLY recommend the property. We visited while friends were staying at the property.

I was lucky enough to be a guest at this Falcon Cove house for several nights in June 2010. At the peak of our gathering, there were six adults, a 4-month-old baby and a dog, and I think we all agreed there was room and privacy enough for everyone. The kitchen was well-appointed for a multi-chef grill extravaganza, and the setting for dinner -- the raised deck with views of an ocean sunset -- was worth the price of admission. The free-standing wood-burning fireplace in the living room was effective and very pleasant on cool mornings and evenings, though I'm glad the baby wasn't mobile yet. Still, I like the thought of returning to this house even with a toddler. It was a great place to relax, reconnect with friends and enjoy the beauty of the Oregon coast.

My husband and I stayed with friends for about a week this past June and this beach house was everything we needed it to be -- spacious, clean, very comfortable, and had wireless. The location is just amazing -- it really is a couple blocks at the most to the beach, and you can hear the ocean from the house (and even see it from some parts of the house!). We used the grill and had an oceanview picnic on the raised patio. We went hiking and tidepool-exploring every day. When we felt like going out for dinner, we headed into the two nearby towns mentioned in the description. Our days at the house were pretty much perfect. We were sad to leave, and though we didn't originally plan on making it an annual thing, we had such a nice time, we're now considering coming back to the beach house again next year.

The beauty of Falcon Cove is that it's tucked away from tourists, from strong winds, from pollution, and from traffic. The beauty of this bungalow is that it is open to views of the water, but the windows are tight, the fire is cozy, and the beds are comfy. You can wake up to the sound of waves, or you can close out all noise and hunker down like you're all alone. Just a 10-minute drive from the towns of Manzanita and Cannon Beach, you can find grocery stores, local grills, bars, farmers' markets, and beaches, but less than 100 yards away you can find your own private sanctuary of rocks and reefs and tidepools. The house is stocked with firewood, the kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies, and the deck lets you grill while you watch the sun glint off the water. There's pretty much no way to ruin Falcon Cove, and this house gives you ever opportunity to enjoy it, with all the comforts of home. As a special bonus, the landlady is attentive and on-the-ball if anything goes wrong, and the neighbors are delightful. It's a great place to be, and we look forward to being back again soon.

My wife and I spent the entire month of June here in 2010, and it was a wonderful home to stay in. We loved traveling the coast, exploring as much as we can, and this house is perfect for that. The owner is a genuinely nice person and she truly wants you to have a great time. Honestly though, you could just spend all your time at the house and you'd be hard-pressed to not have a blast! I wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars. As I write this it's 103 here in Texas and 64 degrees in Falcon Cove. Get me back to Oregon!

Had an awesome weekend of surfing, hiking, card playing, eating and drinking with 2 of our favorite couples at the Falcon Cove. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out at night and to be lazy in the mornings. Super cozy with the fireplace. Easy to stock it up and make food for ourselves, as well. Wish we could've stayed a week!
