  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palm Villas. Communication with Trude prior to our stay was responsive and helpful and the amenities exactly as promised. The location is great. The walk to the beach club through the reserve is very nice and the beach itself a great introduction for our kids to snorkeling and paddleboarding. We have two teenagers and felt completely at ease letting them go to the pool and on walks through the fish ponds on their own. The resort is a great base for day trips - snorkeling out of Kona, dinner in Waimea and trips to Hapuna Beach. Plenty of equipment on hand, snorkling masks, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels. They were even able to accomodate our request to keep several beach towels beyond check out time when we were able to book a last minute snorkleing boat trip. We've rented a number of VRBO houses for winter skiing in the western US and were very pleased with this condo. The unit is very clean and with nicely updated finishes, kitchen was very well stocked.

  We had an excellent stay at this property. Everything was what was promised and then some. Communication was very good and anything that we needed was taken care of. We have been to Hawaii at least 15 times and love the peaceful location of Mauna Lani. The property was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property and will plan on returning.

  One of three condos we rented in Palm Villas for a family get together. Group of 15 - grandparents, children and grandchildren. We all had a wonderful time! Especially nice was the convenience of being near each other in the Palm Villas. I originally thought we should get three units in the same building, but that was not necessary - the development is small and everyone moved easily to units in other buildings. This unit was perfect for a family of six but could easily accommodate six. This unit is a ground level unit which was perfect for our whole family to get together for evening meals. Kids and adults ate in separate shifts but it worked well. View from the lanai overlooked lava fields and evening sunsets but was not as good as second level units.. Unit was exactly as described. Unit was well-furnished and well maintained. No problems or complaints at all. Plenty of towels, snorkels, boogie boards, etc. Palm Villas was well situated to take advantage of everything the resort offered. Easy walk through the lava beds to the fish ponds and beaches and Mauna Lani Hotel. Also easy to get to the Orchid Hotel, another beach and petroglyphs. Palm Villas have a nice pool and exercise room. Right across the road from the entrance is the Tennis Center. A short walk further there is a shopping area with several shops and restaurants and a very nice grocery market. No need to go elsewhere unless you want. Queens Marketplace a few miles away has a multitude of shops and restaurants as well as another grocery store. Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches are just a short drive away. Lots to do in Kona. Also a good Costco there.

  Our family of 4 (teen and pre-teen boys) stayed here for 6 nights in December 2011 and LOVED it! This was a truly magical spot from the magnificent beach that we could easily walk to and explore volcanic caves along the way with ancient petroglyphs -- to the beautiful peaceful sunsets that were enjoyed on the back lanai. The condo was very clean and well-maintained when we arrived which is very important to me! It had an exquisitely tasteful interior, cozy dining area, a great spacious living room, a large cozy master bedroom and 2 fabulous other bedrooms that the kids felt like heaven in. Great TV's in each room & Wi-fi (no need to say more)!! The well-equipped kitchen that would please any gourmet cook with a great built-in backyard BBQ that my husband thrived in with each use was fantastic. Also, great beach gear that included boogie boards, snorkels/masks, beach bags, coolers, and beach towels. We also found a close 10 min. drive beach with fantastic waves for the kids to use the boogie boards at called Hapuna Beach. Security gates for cars entering/exiting also made the place feel very safe. Great grocery store within minutes of the condo made our stay even more carefree, as did the attentive caretakers. The listing description was very accurate regarding the location. Very helpful owner who answered all of our questions quickly. The attractive photos don't do this condo justice! I can't recommend the spot highly enough for any occassion or in any season. We look forward to returning. What an amazing week at an amazing condo…Thank you!!!

  We stayed here for 6 nights in March with 3 kids: 9, 11 and 14. We had many meals on the back lanai - beautiful sunset views. We used the beach toys, boogie boards and snorkel equipment. The unit had everything we needed! The pool was so close - just out the front door and it was a beautiful walk to the beach (10 - 15 min). The kids would walk and we would drive to the Beach Club so that we had the car for the return trip. The beach club was lovely and we could use their chairs and cabanas. Amazing snorkeling right off the beach! We drove into Kailua-Kona for the Fair Winds snorkeling tour - highly recommended! We also drove to the Mauna Kea visitor centre. It's been a memorable trip and I would happily stay here again or recommend it to friends. The rental agent was terrific to work with - and she helped my husband plan a surprise vow renewal ceremony on the beach. Thank you for everything!

  We have 2 children (2 and 11 months) and this was perfect for us! We loved the pool nearby and being able to walk to the Mauna Lani pool and the owners beach. We even found time to sneak to the spa next door! We could even walk to the little grocery store and get coffee in the mornings at the new coffee joint. The location was ideal! The furnishing were comfortable and having the w/d was a huge plus with the little ones. The big bath tub in the master bath was perfect for bath time. They loved the little back yard and all the birds and lizards we saw. We used the snorkel equipment and the beach toys - so nice not to have to drag all that! Thanks so much for a wonderful time!

  Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us. I can't stress enough how perfect its location and amenities are. We could walk to the beach (and Beach Club), the pool, the Mauna Lani spa and fitness center, the Mauna Lani Hotel with its ancient fish ponds and Culture Center, and even the grocery store. We highly recommend the massages at the Spa, checking out what is offered at the hotels Culture Center (especially time with historian Danny Akaka), the lovely walk to the beach and smoothies at the Beach Club restaurant, cooking on the lovely lanai, looking out toward the preserve and enjoying those wonderful breezes or Roy's Restaurant if you don't want to cook (though we did almost every day). We also took advantage of the location to drive to Waikoloa and take advantage of all its amenities and restaurants. We hope to return!
