Welcome to the Yellowstone Basin Inn, fine western lodging by Yellowstone! Enjoy great Yellowstone Lodging.
The Yellowstone Basin Inn is a fine western lodging facility just north of Yellowstone Park. We are located 5 miles from the north entrance to Yellowstone in a quiet rural setting just north of Gardiner, Montana.
The majority of guests at the Yellowstone Basin Inn are visitors to Yellowstone National Park. Guests come here for the ambiance of the western Rockies. The Yellowstone Basin Inn has been designed to take full advantage of these spectacular surroundings.
The Inn is situated on a bluff above US Highway 89 and overlooks the Yellowstone River channel, some ranch lands and Yellowstone National Park. Electric Peak, which is part of the Gallatin chain of mountains, is on the south and west side of the basin. It is located in Yellowstone Park and is the main view from our Inn.
To the northwest is a dramatic geologic vertical uplift formation known for its alternating gray shale and russet iron layers and hence called "Devil's Slide" by locals. Porch rockers, bistro tables and chairs are provided on the covered deck to afford guests a relaxed atmosphere in these great outdoors.
The Absaroka mountains form a backdrop to the Inn and flank the northeast of the property. This range forms part of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness area and can be accessed from nearby trailheads.
The historic La Duke hot spring is just 1/2 mile north. Guests can walk right up to the spring where it comes up from the ground and flows into the Yellowstone river.
The Yellowstone Basin Inn was built in 1995 with eight units (which includes two deluxe suites). The Cottage Suite and two additional skylit rooms were built in 2000 adjoining the east end of the main Inn. The Inn's grounds are about 5 acres and can be enjoyed from the porch deck or outdoor hot tub deck, each with spectacular views towards Electric Peak.
The Inn is open year round with limited availablity in the winter.
