Why the Owner Chose Isla Mujeres

We love the tranquil feeling of Isla Mujeres, the gorgeous blue waters and warm breezes, and the friendly Mexican people. We know the island well, and always loved the extreme south point with its views of the Bay of Cancun and the Caribbean Sea surrounding you on all sides. Because there are only a few lots on the point, when one became available we felt like we'd won the lottery. Isla is an easy trip from Boston and we feel at home as soon as we arrive.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Casa Isla has the best location on the island. The front yard is the Caribbean Sea and the back yard and main orientation of the house is the Bay of Cancun. We can sit by the pool for hours watching the colors of the ocean change, seeing fish and rays swim by, and frigate birds hang on the wind. The roofdeck overlooking the ocean to the east and south is wonderful for coffee in the morning because of its privacy, and we often go there to watch the sunrise or lie on the chaises to see the stars. The fact that we can walk to some of our favorite lunch and dinner spots is a bonus.

Owner's Map of Isla Mujeres

We live in Boston and have been coming to Isla Mujeres for 25 years as a getaway from the harsh winters. We are very fortunate that we were able to build our dream house in such a spectacular setting.

    • Casa Isla is the perfect get away. Open the front door and you step into paradise. You’re immediately greeted by a bank of windows that look out over the turquoise ocean and Cancun in the distance. All the rooms are spacious, inviting, and well decorated (fabulous colors and decor). It’s great to relax by the pool or have your morning coffee watching the sunrise on the upstairs deck. There's a fully equipped kitchen and an indoor and outdoor dining area. Getting around is easy…there are restaurants in walking distance (Casa O’s) or a quick ride into town via taxi or you can rent a golf cart or scooter. You won’t want to leave, I didn’t

    • I stayed at Casa Isla with a group of girlfriends. The place was perfect and beautiful. It has everything you could need and then some. The views are incredible through out the entire house. There were lots of wonderful places for us to sit and chat inside and outside. The infinity pool and hot tub got a lot of use and praise. I highly recommend this place.

    • I have been to Isa Mujeres 13 times and have always stayed at nice places. Casa Isa is by far a pure luxury home built to maximize all views of the ocean and let every bit of natural light into the home. The many outdoor living areas truly lets you enjoy the great weather and views of the island. I found myself not leaving for the normal trips into to town everyday. There is nothing this home doesn't have. Having a phone with free long distance and wifi was a nice treat. Most of the time I am usually at a pay phone or an internet cafe which is an inconvienence. The pictures of the home were great, however it was even better in person. If this were my home I wouldnt change a thing about it! Will be back again! Kim Hardee

    • I visited Casa Isla for 4 wonderful, relaxing days and nights in June 2009. The island is beautiful and relaxing...not at all like Cancun. The house itself has 360% views of the gulf - it's truly breathtaking. The design, architecture, and amenities of the property are like a 5-star hotel...I was a little nervous that it would potentially be compromised given the remoteness, but absolutely not. Getting around is a breeze - I recommend renting a scooter or golf cart. If not, cabs are cheap. There is plenty to do, or you can do nothing and stay happily self contained on the property itself...your choice. The locals are very friendly and most spoke english. I would definitely go back!

    • Casa Isla is an absolute paradise, a million miles away from any cares and concerns of everyday life. Sitting in the indoor or outdoor living room or the outdoor dining room (or just taking a shower!), it is almost impossible to take one's eyes off the incredibly blue water. How can the color of the infinity pool match so perfectly? Short walks to the nearby eating places made everything especially easy. This is a marvelous and luxurious destination for relaxing and re-energizing.

    • The sunsets off the outdoor dining room, the sound of the waves lapping on the beach below, with Cancun sparkling in the distant background, all contribute to the perfection of the location. The new, spacious home is cozy and comfortable and a wonderful place to relax and forget your worries. A wonderful home with everything we needed to come back to after traveling around the island, seeing the sites, meeting the local people, shopping, and enjoying fun Mexican cuisine and atmosphere. I highly recommend this awesome place and definitely plan to return again soon. . We weren't sure where the infinity pool ends and the ocean views begin. Truly an amazing place!
