Lovely but a Few Concerns with Bungalow #3

Guest: Keri W.
Date of Stay: 03/29/12 Review Submitted: 04/02/12

This is a lovely resort both because Garry and Cory are sooo accommodating (we showed up early and unannounced and they let us keep our bags there for the day and they had been put neatly in our room when we returned) and because the grounds and the view are just stunning. There are 2 reasons I only gave it 3 stars...One is because they said there is wifi on the entire resort and bungalow 3 did not have wifi at all...or cell reception for that matter...something we could have planned for (and did in other areas), had we known. The other thing is the traffic noise. The resort is on a hill on one of the main roads on the Big Island and although not constant, there was consistent traffic throughout the night, including trucks accelerating to make it up the hill. Fine for my husband and daughter who are heavy sleepers, but I was awake quite a bit throughout the night... I think all the other bungalows would be much better because they are on the other side of the house and are protected by the house and a hill, but I definitely would not recommend Bungalow 3.

Breathtaking Views

Guest: Dian & Brian (Ucluelet, British Columbia)
Date of Stay: 03/17/12 Review Submitted: 04/05/12

An estate set on a cliff with 180 degree views over the ocean. Amazing. Our bungalow by the pool was very comfortable, great king bed and wonderful double shower with lots of hot water. We had a very large private patio with lounge chairs and outdoor dining table, and private BBQ. The views are spectacular with so many choices of out door space to catch the rays. On one rainy morning we played backgammon under the gazebo. The salt water pool was very refreshing to cool off on the hot days. The whole property is spectacular and across the road from Umauma falls and the Zipline. Convenient location, not too far from anywhere on the windward side of the island. And you can always do nothing but sit by the pool, one day we did just that. Awesome. Hosts Gary and his son Cory make sure you have everything you need, everyday when we saw them, their first words were do you need anything! On our first night they hosted a BBQ for all the guests. It was like a big family get together. We were really impressed. Mahalo.

WOW Just wanted to drop a quick note to anyone who is thinking of staying here, JUST DO IT. Everything is as pictured… postcard beautiful. Garry and Cory are the most gracious hosts whose many little extras go above and beyond to make an unforgettable trip. Spent many days just lounging by the pool watching the whales, listening to the wave’s crash and enjoying all the beautiful landscaping. Talk about a little piece of Heaven….Conveniently located to Volcanos National Park, The Black Sand Beach, shopping, restaurants and whatever you want to do. Thank you for a “Trip of a lifetime”. My wife and I stayed at Garry's Estate for 7 nights January 30- February 6, 2012 and it was better than the reviews stated. I was impressed with the reviews but you can't believe the property until you experience it yourself. Garry and Cory made our stay incredible. They were helpfull in every way possible. We both loved the gazebo on the ocean and watching the whales play. What an experience. The rooms had every thing we needed and more. They were clean and well kept. The property is maintained impeccably. Just a great place to stay and convenient to every thing on the island. Thanks

A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN IN PARADISE!!!!

Guest: Apryl (Sumner, WA)

Lai Nani offers an extremely special Big Island experience! With the exquisite grounds, breathtaking views, exceptional hospitality from Gary and his staff, the property's nearby location to Hilo and town, the natural wonder of the amazing water fall, botanical gardens and zip line virtually across the street and let's not forget the 5 Star room and amenities you can't go wrong staying at this beautiful property! My husband, myself and our two young (3 and 1 year old) children stayed at Lai Nani for 7 nights (1/10/12-1/17/12). It was wonderful not worrying about disrupting the neighbors with the sound of little feet running around. It was like being at our own home, but better! Gary and his staff always went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were taken care of. Stay here and you will NOT be disappointed!

Hidden Gem of a resort

The brochures of this resort did not do it justice. The owner Gary, and his son Cory were more like friends you have known for years instead of vacation hosts. They are so helpful, they don't leave you wandering around the town looking for sightseeing trips. It was an experience which opened your senses, to the smells of the flowers, the sounds of the ocean, and the Aloha spirit. Thank you both for a wonderful time.

We newly weds enjoyed our stay at the Lai Nani. It was like our own personal resort. The views were amazing. Gary and Cory made sure we enjoyed our stay. Gary told us about the Zip Lining across the street and called them up for us to get a discount! That was one of the highlights of our stay. The pool and hot tub were so nice and relaxing. We would stay here again when visiting the Big Island.

We found out the true meaning of the Aloha spirit! We definitely felt very welcome!!! The views at this place are gorgeous and the sunrises are spectacular!!! Words Only Can't Express How Beautiful La`i Nani Resort Is !!! You Have to Experience It!!!!!!!!!

Guest: Donald (Maui, Hawaii)
Date of Stay: 09/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/07/11

I just got back home and all I can do is talk about how beautiful La`i Nani Resort is. We were there for 3 days and the hospitality that Garry Hajek and his staff offered is outstanding! The resort is right up there with any 5 Star Resort or Estate. The ocean view in the early morning hours as the sun rises is breath taking. The property is absolutely beautiful, with lots of privacy. Garry is very knowledgable about the Island and offered many great locations to see and visit. The recommendations to those who are thinking about staying at La`i Nani Resort would be, don't wast your time on hotels and large resorts, there is nothing that can compare to La`i Nani Resort!!! I have lived in Hawaii for 40 years and have stayed at many resorts on the Island of Hawaii and there is nothing that La`i Nani Resort does not have to make your visit a memorable one. They are the BEST!!!!!!!!!

When visiting the big Island, staying at L'ai Nani is an absolute must. It is perfectly situated so that you can tour the whole island in one day and, when you do, you will realize that no other place like it exists. It is one of a kind as is the owner, Garry, who will go out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect. He has created an unforgettable oasis of warmth and beauty just a short drive north of Hilo. The three Bungalows provide all the comforts of home while including a pool, hot tub and whales in the winter months. We stayed two weeks and the time simply flew by. We were sad to leave Garry, his son Cory, and his dog Ice and their paradise called L'ai Nani. Aloha to all of you and, again, Maholo!

I stayed 2 days in one of the bungalows. As soon as I arrived the owner, Garry greeted me and helped me to my room. The bungalow was very clean and everything smelled so fresh. I really enjoyed the salt water pool, jacuzzi, and the priceless view of the grand Pacific. I had a wonderful time grilling out with a few of my friends and was so amazed with the immaculate grounds. I really enjoyed my stay here and I definetly plan on returning soon.

Truly Paradise

Guest: Cindy B.
Date of Stay: 06/22/11 Review Submitted: 07/16/11

This property is truly paradise. We felt at peace the minute we arrived. We were greeted by Garry and his son and made to feel extremely welcome. I cannot say how beautiful the views were and the pictures do not do it justice. The grounds were immaculate and the bungalows were very clean. We greeted each morning in the oceanfront gazebo where we saw some beautiful sunrises. The estate is close to many of the attractions that are on the Hilo side. Garry was very helpful in steering us to the great activities available. He also had a barbecue for us and another guest. We all contributed side dishes and it was great fun. This place makes you feel like you are to only people there. With only three bungalows you don't have the crowds and noise, except nature, that you have in big resorts. We stayed from June 22-29 and will definitely go back to this beautiful paradise. Thanks Garry for sharing your wonderful place and the hospitality.

Waking up in the morning at Garry's was like waking up in heaven due to the breath taking scenery right outside of my window. Garry and Cory made my stay quite enjoyable. They were warm, welcoming and helpful. By the time we left the estate, my husband and I felt as though we were old friends with Garry and his son. The bungalow that we stayed in was gorgeous and clean. The solar heated pool was always the right temperature and soaking in the hot tub after a long day of activities was excellent for the body and mind. The property is conveniently located across the street from Umauma ziplines and Garry provided many other suggestions for activities to keep us busy. We would, and already have, recommended this estate to others and are already planning another stay at this beautiful location.

Gorgeous property, not as clean as it should be

Guest: Penny L.
Date of Stay: 06/16/11 Review Submitted: 06/25/11

Garry's property is gorgeous, perched on a cliff above the crashing surf. The location, at the 16 milemarker from Hilo wasn't too bad for day trips to see the volcano or to go up the coast to the north. Garry, the owner, and son Cory are very cordial hosts. We were disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the bungalow. The house keeping needs an upgrade. There was mold and mildew in the showers and on the bathroom faucet. There were dishes in the unit, but only cold water was available at the sink closest to the dish cabinets, so you had to use the bathroom sink to get hot water. There are grills, but they too were not cleaned - very dirty and greasy and the grilling surface was warped, so the heat was irregular, making cooking difficult. Do not plan to cook meals on property.

Owner response:The people were mad because i would not give them a larger refund due to they wanted to checkout earlier and go to the other side of the island to be with other friends that were staying there. This estate is very clean and up to date. you can see all of the other reviews from other quests.

Wow! What can I say?! This place is beyond georgeous, its Paradise! The minute I arrived, I was greeted with so much aloha. Gary, the owner, and his son were so hospitable and genuine gentlemen. They helped me with my bags, gave me a grand tour of the place, and provided me awesome information about places I should try to visit before I head back home. I was extremely happy with the cleanliness of the bungalow, pool, and the grounds in its entirety. They really keep everything in order and are consistent in providing fresh towels, and anything else you may need. I hate eating out so I purchased some ribeye and got to grill outside while watching the day come to a close while sipping on a glass of chilled wine. It was just breathtaking with the sweet aroma of the variety of floral that is so appeasing to the eye. I've stayed at many places around the world but have never been so pleased and in awwe with a place such as this. No wonder its called Lai Nani. To me, it was Paradise on earth. I can't wait to return soon.

I decided to visit Hilo for the first time and Garry's place made my experience phenomenal!!! It was such a beautiful place that was very secluded and gave me the privacy that I wanted. Garry and his son Cory were amazing hosts and provided everything I needed in order to be comfortable. Everything about the place was top notch, from the bungalows to the pool. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the bungalows were clean from top to bottom. I thought the pictures of this place were beautiful but actually being there was like a dream come true. It was everything I expected my vacation to be. Highly recommendable and will be coming back for sure!

Date of Stay: 05/07/11 Review Submitted: 05/20/11

Even on a misty morning, the view and the sounds were breathtaking!!! My husband and I were on the Big Island celebrating our 10 yr anniversary, we booked a condo in Waikoloa for 7 days and then at the last minute decided to add 2 more days to our trip. However, we decided to stay on the opposite side of the island for those first 2 days.....I am so glad we did! The Hilo side of the island is beautiful and lush!! Garry's home and bungalows are amazing. The pool was beautiful, although we didn't use it because we were soaking in all that Hilo had to offer!! The bungalows were very private, we slept with the windows open and the only sounds we heard were those of birds and the ocean. It was a great couple of days and wish we had stayed there a bit longer! Garry was a helpful host, letting us know which beaches to go to along our ride into Kona and was a help letting us know about the Volcano hike and Mauna Kea conditions.....all breathtaking!! It is an amazing island and I highly recommend staying in one of Garry's bungalows. However, If you are a big coffee drinker like me, you might want to bring your own coffee (and filters) so you can have your morning coffee before heading out for breakfast.

We had a perfect stay at Garry's property! The bungalow was spacious and beautiful, the grounds were immaculate, the pool and hot tub were fantastic, and the view was amazing! We enjoyed an evening BBQ with Garry and his son, gorgeous sunrise views over the ocean, and lots of R&R in the evenings by the pool and hot tub. Garry had connections and/or recommendations for all the local hiking, and sights - from waterfalls, to ATV riding near Waipi'o valley! We saw so much of the Island! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We had an amazing vacation! Thanks Garry!

We stayed at Gary's bungalow for 4 nights and found it to be a great location for Hilo side activities, such as Volcano National Park and waterfalls. Gary is very friendly, accommodating and his property is spectacular. The bungalow was clean and was the perfect size for 2. Sitting outside, we were able to see late season whales-a magnificent experience. We definitely recommend this rental for a relaxing and laid back alternative to condos and hotels.

A stop on the Big Island was definitely in our plans from the beginning, and once we saw the write up on Garry’s place, it was hard to look elsewhere! Some said that it might be risky to stay on the Hilo side, vs the Kailue-Kona side, which has all the big resorts and amazing beaches, but the gamble paid off and we had the most amazing experience on that side of the island. What to say about our accommodations? The place is wonderful and Garry is a very warm and gracious host. He knows the area and the place inside out, since he built it himself. The guy’s got good taste and talent….and he can sure cook a good steak! After a day of sightseeing (there are so many wonderful things to do on that side of the island), we joined Garry and another guest for dinner. The food was great and the company even better. Garry welcomed us in his home and it soon felt like we were family. It was a great way to end our 4-night stay in Hilo…a very memorable one, with beautiful weather (hardly any rain), a helicopter ride over an erupting volcano (first time since 1997), a visit to an amazing botanical garden and the pleasure of seeing whales swim by right outside our window everyday! Not sure that Garry had anything to do with the whales, but if he could have arranged it, he would have…that’s how much Garry wants his guests to enjoy their stay! Well, we did and we highly recommend staying on that side of the island, and in particular, taking advantage of the best accommodations in Hilo!

Gary built the entire complex and his pride in them shows in many ways. His gardeners use no power tools and son Cory mows the lawns. Our last night we had a great BBQ at the main house above and had a wonderful time with other guests and Gary's friends. Everything in the other reviews is true. Meticulously kept facility. The octagonal cottage is adorned with high end finishes like granite counters and attractive fixtures. The cottage was perfectly clean, kept, and newly painted. Everything was maintained with a personal eye of attention by the owner. The gardens were beautifully designed and maintained. We relaxed outside on our own patio just a few feet away from the pool and spa. And from everywhere you look there are miles of views from the blue ocean horizon to the heights of the snow capped Mauna Kea. The owner is engaging, available, helpful and graciously generous. This is a luxurious resort. We relaxed and enjoyed paradise!

This is my first time in the Hilo area and I wondered what we would find. I now know that any future rental will be compared to this unit. It is spacious, super clean, well appointed and the view is fabulous. Garry, the owner, is generous with the other parts of the property (we rented a bungalow), heated the hot tub for us and allowed us to use the pool any time we wanted. Check in and out were very easy. We explored the Hilo area a short 16 miles away. There is shopping in the city and great jungles of foliage on the drives we took. We will be retuning to this vacation paradise as soon as possible.

We stayed at a bungalow at Lai Nani Resor (otherwise known as Garry's amazing house) in December. Everything you are reading in these other 5 star reviews is absolutely true. You won't find a more beautiful place to stay and a more gracious host at twice the price. The pictures are very accurate, and yet they don't do justice. I found myself walking up the stairway from the bungalow to the main houses back deck for any possible reason, and as many times as possible, just so I could take another look at the 180 degree ocean view. We were invited to a barbecue on our third night and a double rainbow appeared over the ocean...what a stunning site! The bungalow was quite comfortable. It has satellite tv, wifi internet, shower, and small kitchenette (coffee maker, fridge, microwave). The outdoor hot tub was 20 feet from our front door. There are only two bungalows so you pretty much have the place to yourself. The landscaping is beautiful. We didn't want to leave when our time was up. This is highly recommended. Garry and his son were great hosts and they will go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.

It was our first time visiting the Big Island on our honeymoon. We stayed at Garry's bungalow for 5 days, and it was quite a wonderful experience. The place was surrounded by beautiful landscaping, waterfalls, and gorgeous ocean view right in the back yard. The resort was very relaxing also. Not only Garry was an excellent host, he was a very good chef. He cooked for us 3 nights out of 5 nights that we stayed there. Delicious homemade chicken soup, cucumber salad, and BBQ!!! He even took us to see Umauma falls and a couple of beautiful private waterfalls in the area. The best part was that we did not have to pay to get in the Umauma falls!! Thanks Garry for your hospitality. We would highly recommend this resort to everyone.

Run don't Walk!

I am not one to write reviews but this place is the exception!!! This summer we were visiting family on the Big Island and looking for the perfect place to stay. We found it! Lai Nani is truly unique. The bungalows are spacious, very comfortable, and perfectly appointed. The house is over the top if you are looking for an incredible, big, beautiful house. The pool, hot tub/Jacuzzi and tiki bar create the perfect party setting. Situated on a cliff 200 feet above the ocean, we were mesmerized by the view and look forward to visiting in the winter to watch the whales. Gary is the greatest host. He will make sure all of your needs are met while creating a party atmosphere that you will love. Trust me, try this first, but don't be surprised if it is already booked. You will love it.

This review is one year late -- but better late than never! I stayed at Garry's amazing Ocean Front Estate in August 2010. This was me and my girlfriend's first visit to the Big Island and we wanted it to be very special. The pictures on this listing really do not do it justice as everything about the place is really magical. Garry is also an awesome host! He was kind enough to cook us dinner one night, and we had some of the most interesting and hilarious conversations I've ever had. Having dinner with Garry was one of my fondest memories during my stay on the Big Island -- as he really embodies the aloha spirit and the local friendliess. I will return one day! Highly recommended.

True Paradise

Guest: Maggie (Seattle)
Date of Stay: 08/13/10 Review Submitted: 08/29/10

From the moment we entered the grounds, we knew we were in paradise. The property was full of lush tropical plants, which we enjoyed tremendously. The bungalow was very spacious, enough room to really spread out. And the pool and patio area with the ocean beyond as far as the eye can see was spectacular. Garry is a great host, even inviting us to the "big house" for a barbeque. I would recommend Lai Nani to anyone. I've told everyone in my family about it and they can't wait to go. Thanks Garry!

If you are looking for a great place to stay on the Hilo side of the Big Island, then look no further. Lai Nani is a beautiful and relaxing estate. Located at the 16 mile marker, it is an easy drive to the many activities on this side of the island. I will be back for another stay! Thank you Garry for being a wonderful host and sharing your wonderful place with us.

Gary's a great host, great views, great base camp for east coast adventures

Guest: JBB (Phoenix, AZ)
Date of Stay: 07/19/10 Review Submitted: 10/30/10

My wife and I, and two daughters (3 & 5) stayed in one of Gary's bungalows back in July or so of this year (sorry to take so long on a review Gary!). We had a great time for the short couple of nights we stayed, and I'd say this is one of the better locations to do Hamakua coast exploring from. Great pool, and good solitude, with a great view of the coast. While we only spent a couple of days, Gary's place is obviously an excellent base camp for exploring - great access to lots of Hamakua coast highlights, with no worries about driving distance or access to places (I couldn't figure out for sure whether it would feel far away beforehand, but once we got there, it felt close enough to everything, even volcanoes). Moreover, I'd say if you're looking for a place to do some book reading and some whale watching (in season), or have a wildlife photo hobby looking for some whale opportunities, Gary's would be an excellent hit. During whale season, I'd say that back deck he has behind the bungalows is just begging for a serious tripod and a telescope or huge zoom lens. Note to fellow parents, I'd say we were pushing it a little with the young kids, as the cliff drop offs require good diligence, and the bungalows are a little small for pushing 2 adults and 2 young kids into. I'd say older kids would be easier - as parents of young ones likely know, handling sleeping in a one room and cooking in a small kitchenette pushes the limits if small ones are light sleepers and small enough eaters that you try to feed them in the room. But ages 5 and 7 would be a far different story, and even with the young kids, Gary has a couple of fold out futons that he keeps up in the main house that made for great sleeping for the kids at the foot of the main bed, and they folded up easily during the day. Just advice on logistics though, and not a criticism of the property, Gary is a great host, and the kids were well accepted, and had a blast in the hot tub and pool, and playing around on the expansive concrete deck outside, and exploring Gary's landscaping. By the way, testament to Gary's bungalows, the grownups fell asleep with the kids at naptime one day, and we all slept for a couple of hours, during which Gary hosted a wedding on the grounds, and none of us woke up! Couldn't have been too much of a shindig, since we didn't see it before or after, but the bungalows are obviously well built! Mahalo Gary, see you again in the future!

Best Place To Get Married On The East Side

Guest: Matt and Roslyn (Hilo, HI)
Date of Stay: 05/15/10 Review Submitted: 08/24/10

After weeks of searching for a place to get married, we finally found the perfect location. Lai Nani Resort! The east side of the big island has such a limited choice for ceremony locations. We were looking for someplace unique and with a nice back ground for pictures. The view from Lai Nani is simply breath taking. We set up a bamboo trellis facing the entire ocean. Our guest sat a level above and witnessed our ceremony with the most amazing view. The weather was absolutely perfect. The property itself has so many photo ops, like a pool with a waterfall and a staircase to the main house. Needless to say, our pictures turned out amazing! We stayed in one of the bungalows for a two night mini honeymoon. We sat in the hot tub under the star filled sky and sipped on champagne. Talk about romantic. The bungalow was beautiful, much better than any hotel room in Hilo. I’ve never woken up to a more amazing view. Garry, the owner is full of the “aloha spirit”. Being Kamaainas ourselves, we love to see that in other people. He was so helpful and open to all our ceremony ideas and planning. He is so accommodating and gracious. So, weather your looking for a wedding location or private get away. Lai Nani resort should be at the top of your list!

Home away from home

Guest: Desrae and Jeff (Kailua, Oahu)
Date of Stay: 05/06/10 Review Submitted: 05/12/10

As a kamaaina from the island of Oahu, most of Hawaii is familiar to me. However, as a result of staying at "Lai Nani" I am sure that I had not experienced the best accomodations until now. We were provided easy access parking almost at our front door. The moment we stepped onto "Lai Nani" with the flowing waterfall from the poolside, the scenic ocean view, great sounds of jazz music and Garry's "komo mai" attitude, we felt relaxed. We were also pleased with the availability of the kitchenette in our bungalow because it allowed us to prepare meals on our private patio barbecue. Our bungalow was spacious and comfortable. I was at ease because I was provided privacy and quiet as well as internet service to help make my business trip a productive one. We enjoyed our private time but also the hospitality our host, Garry who showed us his aloha and kept us laughing with his spirited sense of humor! Although I was there on business I was unable to resist the vacation mode feeling because of the calming effect this place has. In addition, I didnt feel as if I "missed out" on the sites or activities of Hilo, because I was provided the opportunity to soak in the sun, breathe the fresh ocean air and see the most scenic sites right from our bungalow! This is a place that will satisfy the business excecutive as well as the vacationer. I am definitely making this a regular stop over!

Lai Nani was an excellent place to stay, has everything you need, quick drive to sandy beaches. Gary was very welcoming, he even invited us for a bbq. We had a great time and would recommend this place to friends and family. Also great that he doesn't require a deposit. Everything was clean, the hot tub and pool were great! Thanks Gary, we hope to be back soon!

We travel extensively and lai nani is right up there with some of the worlds best...very beautiful accomadations and wonderful amenities including pool and hot tub overlooking the pacific. The environment is surreal and very serene. You will want for nothng has Gary treats you like family not guests. Skip the big resorts with skittles, towels, and diapers at the pool, for your own private paradise. Here your business will be appreciated and you will leave with the aloha spirit...and be back again as a friend.

A 5 star accomodation at a 2 star price. A gorgeous modern bungalow with an even more amazing view. Privacy on your own lanai where you can barbeque your meal, relax with a glass of wine. You also get the most unbelievable view of the stars at no charge. The town of Hilo is a short drive away if you want restaurants and nightlife, but why would you? This place offers everything you need for a romantic getaway or just to unwind. Next time we're going to book more time here, our time was too short. Gerry, our host, is very friendly, helpful and accomodating. We will definitely be back!! Thank you for sharing your estate with us. Connie and Tim Kelowna,BC Canada

SECLUSION WITH AN OCEAN VIEW

Guest: Dave (Port Alberni BC Canada)
Date of Stay: 01/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/04/11

We arrived late at night and couldn't really appreciate the beauty around us until we woke in the morning to see the beautiful gardens and ocean view. I just stood outside our bungalow and stared, breathless, for the longest time. Even after a week it never got tiring.Often we'd see whales not far from shore. Gary, the owner and his son Cory did a great job of welcoming us and making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant one. There are only three rental bungalows so it's never busy at the pool or hot tub. We asked for names of places to eat in the area, tried them and were really pleased with the food and service. There are a number of parks and other sights to see in the area so we had lots to see and do when we wanted to get out for a few hours. I would highly recommend La'i Hani Resort to anyone looking for a quiet, secluded and beautiful place to stay while on the Big Island.

True "Aloha Spirit and Beauty"!

Guest: Rich and Beth (Santa Barbara, CA)
Date of Stay: 10/01/09 Review Submitted: 12/03/09

Our stay at the beautiful "Lai Nani" was absolutely perfect! There are 3 bungalows to choose from and any of the 3 will accomadate your every whim. We stayed in the one straight down the driveway and enjoyed the spectacular views from our very own patio. The bungalow is very tastefully and beautifully decorated and will bring you nothing but comfort and a smile! it is very clean and gives you enough room to sprawl out with all of the wonderful things that you will want to purchase and take home with you! The pool and hot tub are gorgeous and relaxing after a long day of fun and the waterfall and sound of the ocean are guaranteed to lull you off into a restful and deep sleep! Cleanliness and quality are important to us and we were not dissapointed. Gary greeted us often each day with genuine hospitality and kindness and took care of any need that we had. He was informative about the island and gave us a lot of ideas about how to make the most out of our time on the island. "Lai Nani" is located on the beautiful Hamakua Coastline and is in such a conveinient place. There are gardens right accross the road, Kona is close, but then again, you are closer to Hilo. My husband is from the Big Island and we often choose to go to places that are not your typical, well known attractions. We were in the perfect location! Away, yet close. We would (and have) recommended "Lai Nani" to anyone who asks us where to stay on the Bid Island. You can't go wrong if you enjoy privacy in a beautiful setting with a hostpitable host and hostess!
