Mimosa is a superb 10-person villa in the exclusive Punta Estrada side of Puerto Ayora. This house is snugly positioned two-minutes walk away from the port, the beach and two of the best restaurants in town. Walking is the only way in the vicinity as there are no roads and hence, no traffic. The only way to reach this neighborhood is to take a 5-minute water taxi ride from the busier Puerto Ayora.
After four years of successfully letting out our home, ‘The Cactuspad’, (see the reviews on our Flipkey listing), we decided to move back in. This left us with a great demand for the renowned service we’ve provided, and the logical next step in taking on a new rental!
We are thrilled with Mimosa due to its superiority, comfort, attention to detail and fine housekeeper who keeps the place looking like new!
With a pleasant sea-breeze, views over the ocean, four huge, comfortable, on-suite rooms, this recently converted bed & breakfast is ideal for a couple of families looking for a beach vacation in the tourist capital of Galapagos!
With its dedicated housekeeper, you can relax and enjoy an idyllic, self-catering vacation without the hassles of house maintenance.
We charge a minimum for one week ($1,600) unless gaps are available, and you can start on any day of the week if there is availability. Please enquire after additional nights which are charged at $230/night.
We have a travel agency called Galapex, and can help you sort out the flights from the mainland if you wish. This is sometimes tricky to organize from outside of Ecuador! We also work out tours in Galapagos and Ecuador with a great insight into the cruises, being naturalist guides ourselves.
In addition to Mimosa, we are also renting Orchidea: a 2-bedroom condo in the other part of town! Please ask for details.

- Cell Phone : We can provide a local mobile phone if requested. This can be topped up with local pre-paid cards.
- WiFi (Wireless Internet) : We provide this. It is touch and go as with all internet on the island but is often good enough for skype calls. Not good enough for videi streaming.

- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations) : Due to the water-taxi arrival, an ability to climb stairs and hop on/off the local taxis is required.
- Kid Friendly : It's probably the best stay-pput area in Puerto Ayora due to the beach accessibility. The beach is safe, good fun and is whole point is traffic-free!

The Unique Benefits at this House
For a one-week stay in Puerto Ayora, one should book up some day tours. Filling in the gaps with those day tours is where Mimosa comes in. From here, there is no thought or planning necessary to simply come down to the little beach and enjoy playing, snorkeling, kayaking or simply sun-bathing.
This is where Mimosa is located. To reach here, a water taxi is taken for 5-minutes from the town.

I'm a naturalist guide in Galapagos. During my 20 years here, I decided to build my house and a couple of apartments next door. We spent a few years away recently and that resulted in us renting these properties to vacation renters. The service we provided not only prived to be a lot of fun but also turned many clients into our friends. After or return last June, we realized that we had to find a replacement vacation rental for our now re-settled home. Mimosa has become exactly that.
