First trip to Maui--condo provided home away from home!

All of us really loved the condo. From it's photos, it looked luxurious, clean, and modern--and when we arrived, it fell nothing short from what we were hoping for. Getting the key and information from Shirlene and her assistant was effortless. The home was clean and in excellent condition, with new features like a wine fridge, surround TV sound, a toilet electronic bidet, and awesome sculptures/furniture around the house. Parking is always ample and effortless. For the master bedroom, we really appreciated the dual sinks for us as a couple. Bed/pillows were SO NICE--tempurpedic...better than mine at home, that's for sure! There was also a dual shower, but the wall shower wasn't positioned in the most ideal way--be careful when you turn it on and make sure the stall is shut. For some reason every time we woke up, we would find mosquito-like bugs (weren't sure what they were, since they didn't sting us) inside the stall--they must have loved the water. We found that oepning the windows and air drying helped alleviate this. We also sprayed OFF on the window screen, maybe it was loose...we couldn't find their source. Other than that, great clean bathroom and thanks for providing a blowdryer/makeup mirror. This really made me feel at home. Living room and porch are awesome, with views of the golf course and a small view of the ocean. Nice to wake up to. We also appreciated the water gear supplied on the lanai. Wailea is the ideal location if you want a little bit of everything in Maui. It's located on the most posh area of Maui, and is truly luxury. You are close to Wailea beach, our favorite one of all of them, and the Shops at Wailea for souvenir/upscale shopping. It was also a fine point to leave from for the drive to Hana.

Wonderful Maui

The listing was right on--beautiful condo, wonderful views and great amenities. We enjoyed walking to the Shops at Wailea, morning walks around the property and morning swims at the pool, which we usually had to ourselves. After a long day of sight-seeing or beach going, it was nice to come back to the condo and relax with the ocean views. Loved having morning coffee on the patio and having the birds come visit us while enjoying the views of the ocean and golf course. We had our family staying in Makena and we all gathered at the condo for a barbecue, although the barbecue didn't work. It all worked out fine, but the ice maker wasn't working and my husband fixed it and it was fine after that. We enjoyed the Monkeypod restaurant, Pita Paradise and Coconuts for places to eat--all very good! Captain Jack's in Lahaina was really good too. We drove clear to Hana, from the south end all the way around. Gorgeous views on the south end, dry and one lane roads and at times very rough. It rained pretty hard right after reaching Hana and on the drive back, but was beautiful with waterfalls. I think the drive south is almost prettier than the road to Hana. Would highly recommend---very comfy, beautiful condo!

Wonderful Wailea treasure!

This condo is perfectly situated and beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need for a great getaway in Wailea. We've stayed in this area many times and would return to this unit in a heartbeat. We are picky about the quality of rental units and this one met all of our high expectations. The modern kitchen, bedroom mattresses, great layout with essentially two separate master suites, fabulous bathrooms, big flat-screen television and lovely art pieces make it a stay to remember. You can relax on the lanai overlooking the peaceful golf course and take in the oceanview over morning coffee and cocktails. We visited the nearby beaches, Shops at Wailea and Kihei Market along with snorkeling in Makena and running every morning on the awesome Wailea walkway. We enjoyed grilling most nights and made good use of the condo's boogie boards and beach chairs. Don't hesitate to book this AWESOME unit...you will love it. Shirlene and her assistant were very helpful and easy to deal with throughout our booking.

Awesome Ekolu

Our stay with four adults was most pleasant as we all enjoyed working in the spaceous and well equiped kitchen and eating on the ocean view lanai. The extensive renos to this unit were really very special and enjoyed by us. Huge supply of beach and snorkel gear was also appreciated. Visiting Pia and eating at Flatbread is still one of our favourite outings. We will return. Thank you to Shirlene.

Perfection in Paradise

This property more than met my expectations. It is beautifully appointed and fully equipped with anything you may need while enjoying the island - from beach toys, chairs, fins and snorkels, floats, umbrellas, coolers etc. The beds are extremely comfortable and plush - I truly felt pampered. I stayed here for my daughter's wedding at the Kea Lani and it was a fabulous place to have a few guests over to enjoy the view and ambiance. It is in a superb location within walking distance of shopping and dining. I highly recommend this unit. Can't wait to return. Thanks, Shirlene!

Magnificent Maui!

A great location for Wailea and a very nice Condo. Shopping and dining within walking distance. Golf just ten minutes away. The unit was as advertised. The photos are an accurate depiction of the condo which is very nicely appointed. The 2nd bedroom is as nice as the master except for the view. Every kitchen utensil imaginable was available. I highly recommend and will attempt to stay there on my next visit to Maui.

This was our 12th annual family vacation to Maui with our two kids (adults) and our 2nd time in this unit. Very nice to have the updated bathrooms/kitchen and tasteful/warm decor. Can't beat that ocean view. We've made a habit of taking our drinks out to the 15th green to plop and watch the sunset around 7pm each evening. Love the quiet atmosphere in Ekolu, feels very private and relaxing. Thanks so much.

Upon arrival at our condo we were delighted that it was even more attractive than the internet photos portrayed. The ocean and golf course views and sunsets from the lanai were spectacular. It was beautifully and expensively decorated with Italian style marble, granite and fittings and lovely furniture far more upmarket than your average rental property. It's very convenient, only a five or ten minute walk down to the Shops and beach. The kitchen had a vast range of cooking equipment and plates, platters etc and the bathrooms were pure luxury with all the little soaps, shampoos etc as you would find in a hotel. There was also loads of snorkelling gear and beach towels too. I would highly recommend this condo.

Great time at Ekolu!

Just got back from our 2nd stay at this great property. Wailea is just such an amazing place and if you want a laid back, very relaxing, quiet and very comfortable stay in a lovely condominium on golf course overlooking the whales (when in season) this is the place for you. When coming back to Wailea I would immediately book again as it has the best placement on the course, very near the shops, but away from street noise and still has a view. Additionally, the condo is stocked with everything you need. We had our 2 children, 6 and 3, and so having a kitchen and wonderful amenities and being on the ground floor was excellent. The only downsides (and very minor!) is that it is so serene at this beautiful location that I constantly found myself shushing my children often (as kids can be kids!). At this time of year, January, it seemed to us that these condos had mostly couples/adults and/or retirees, which is great - but I was hypersensitive about bothering any neighbors since it was just so wonderfully quiet. :) Additionally, although there is a wonderful flat screen TV with cable in the front room, we are a family that chooses to unwind after returning from the day (surfing, sand castles and adventuring) or after dinner/cocktails by watching different shows (cartoons vs. primetime etc) on TV and it would have been nice to have TVs in the bedrooms for those times... you can imagine we made due! We really enjoyed our stay! It IS wonderful and easy! I felt like it was our home away from home and I will return!! I will say that at the end of 5 days, my 6 year old was raring to go to a hotel for the excitement of a resort pool environment in Kaanapali. Our usual plan is to divide our time between the 2 places - so it works for us. Hope others enjoy as much as we did. Thanks Shirlene!

We stayed for 15 nights in January of 2011. The pictures on the website accurately depict the condo. It has been beautifully renovated and furnished. The location just up the hill from the Shops at Wailea is perfect! Could even walk to Wailea Beach if you wanted to. The Ekolu property is lush and maintained very well. The view of the ocean from the lanai is spectacular - we witnessed some beautiful sunsets! Great kitchen to cook in. The only thing that didn't work well was the air conditioning (76 F was the lowest possible setting). But we didn't end up really needing the A/C as we found the ceiling fans and cross ventilation from the windows were sufficient. Would definitely recommend this property to others. Awesome Wailea Vacation Rental

An awesome vacation rental! The condo has been recently renovated and tastefully decorated – Shirlene has successfully created a home away from home. The condo is well stocked with everything you can think of and we are also pleased to find beach gear – including umbrellas, lounge chairs and a cooler. The condo is a quick walk from one of the pools on the complex (which was very quiet!) and it is a short walk down the hill to the Shops of Wailea and the hotels... Mala at the Marriot is a great place for sunset cocktails or dinner. The Whalers General Store has a few groceries, if you don’t want to drive into Kihei. We had a wonderful stay at this condo in Wailea – we are already dreaming of our next Maui vacation!

Best Condo in Wailea!

This is an excellent condo for a small family, or 2 couples. Remodeled beautifully and with all the amenities that you need. The sunsets are amazing from the patio. Location is amazing. Close to shops and resorts as well as many world-class beaches that you'll see on "10 best" shows. Location of the unit in the complex is wonderful as well. You are on a peaceful golf course with amazing landscaping. The Plumeria trees smell wonderful on the evening breeze. In short, don't pass this place up.

Our stay at Wailea Ekolu was beyond perfection! Everything you could ever need was provided in this beautifully furnished, spacious, centrally located condo. We especially loved the lanai where we loved to watch and feed the birds every morning while enjoying our breakfast. I hope that when we return to Maui, we can stay in this condo once again!

My partner and I were there to get married and had an absolutely wonderful time. The condo is in a perfect location, within walking distance to pretty much anything you could possibly need. The view was excellent and filled our evenings with breath taking sunsets. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in Makena. It's very reasonably priced for the quality it provides and the creature comforts of home. Thank you for allowing us into your home for 2 weeks of paradise!

We stayed at the condo for 8 nights in the middle of September with 3 adults and a 2 1/2 year old. We had a great time. The ocean views are incredible with the golf course at your feet. The kitchen is very well equipped with a grill on the patio as well. The place is very well kept. You could walk to the Wailea shopping center in 5 minutes. Great stay overall, thank you Shirlene. The condo was spotless upon our arrival and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is wonderful, the beds are very comfortable and it was a pleasure to do laundry daily with the washer/dryer so conveniently located. We made sure our children were respectful of the decor and upon leaving, tried to leave it as we found it. We were happy to find 2 adult beach chairs, a cooler and umbrella for our use. We used Akamai Mother's Rentals to rent 2 kids beach chairs and toys, crib and hi chiar. They even bought some cereal, coffee, milk and juice which we found in the condo upon our arrival - great convenience! The view was incrediblea and proximity to everything cannot be beat. The neighbors were friendly and enjoyed our children. On a scale of 1-10, we give our holiday on Maui a 9 , because nothing is perfect, but this came pretty close! ALOHA! MAHALO!

As an owner of some luxury vacation properties in Kauai myself, I can be overly critical when I take a vacation. This condo is stunning, with attention to quality and detail that is hard to find. This is not your average condo with 20 year old resort furniture and dated baths. This is quality at a 10 level! The location is fantastic and the ocean views allow to see whales and sizzling sunsets. The quiet is punctuated only by song birds in the morning. The kitchen is a cook's delight and will make you feel guilty about going out to dinner elsewhere. This will be a yearly off island vacation for us in the future. This is better than any 5 star hotel! Treat yourself.

We stayed in this unit January 6-January 31, 2009 and enjoyed the amenities and location very much. Pleasant walk to public beaches and oceanfront walkway, easy access to main routes throughout Maui, Wailea Shops, golf and restaurants. The unit was very-welled equiped, the master bed comfortable, with nice shower and excellent drawer storage. Sleeps 4 comfortably, but would be awkward for long-term occupancy for four. (Only place to seat for for meals on lanai, limited space for hanging wardrobe items in hall between bedrooms. You can't beat the views and the complex's pool is well-maintained.

We stayed in this condo for our honeymoon and it was great. Since our friends were visiting the island we had a great time barbequing on the patio and watching the big screen tv. The 190 degree views are amazing and my new wife loved the sunsets. We can't wait to return.
