Thank you for looking at Casa Rio in the town of Oakhurst, we are the premier vacation rental in the Yosemite/High Sierras area!
Casa Rio is situated right off Highway 41, sits on approximately 9 acres with river frontage, and is 3000 square feet. The home is 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, with a large great room, media room, and a deck that overlooks the river and town of Oakhurst.
Casa Rio will sleep as many as 13 people in the home comfortably! We have the best accomodations and space for large parties in Oakhurst. Casa Rio's entrance is on Highway 41 and so access to the home is easy and convenient for everyone. The home is approximately 5 minutes away from the heart of the town, 10 minutes to Bass Lake, and we are 20 minutes away from the South Entrance of Yosemite. Our location gives everyone the best experience of Yosemite while having access to modern amenities such as grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, & a movie theater!!
Our home is unique that it owns the land that the river runs throughout the year. Approximately 800 feet of river is free for you and your party to roam and explore - the river is private to Casa Rio so it is all yours to enjoy during your stay! Casa Rio is contemporary in style and amenities for everyone to be comfortable. The kitchen boasts stainless steel double oven, range, refrigerator, microwave, and even the sink! The kitchen is equipped with all the utensils to make a meal for your party! The latest addition to the property is the back deck - completed in May 2010 received great feedback last year! It is now twice the size of the original deck and has great views of the river cascading down granite rocks and cool views of the city and sunset!
The best experience other people have with Casa Rio is the river itself! It's private and has a great access to the granite pools that you can swim at your own caution! Guests have raved about having a "piece" of Yosemite to themselves!! The river is a perfect place to take pictures and remember your stay in Casa Rio!! And with 9 acres around you there are plenty of space for everyone to explore and enjoy the grounds!
There are 3 bedrooms, 1 den, and 2 bathrooms in Casa Rio. The den occupies our bunk beds which accomodate 7 people with their own flat screen TV w/ a DVD player. The den is right off the Master Bedroom and has it's own bathroom with a view of the river!! The remaining bedrooms are downstairs that share the common bathroom.
It has been our experience that we provide the best space and environment for large and small groups that want a lot of room! Once you stay at Casa Rio and visit Yosemite National Park, you'll feel blessed that you experienced the mountains while having the convenience of a contemporary home and access to modern amenities we all need: grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and entertainment!! We had a wonderful stay in Casa Rio. It was great to be able to safely let our dog run around off-leash. The property was as described. We would, and will, recommend staying here. We enjoyed exploring Yosemite, wine tasting, and hiking in the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed here again in April 2012. Caught trout right near the house and several more just a short walk away. The place is completely comfortable and clean. It is so much fun being there. We usually stay with a group of 4 guys, but I could see this working well for couples or even a family with a few kids. Also, the owner is easy to talk to work with and an all around friendly guy.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I just finished a three night stay at the Casa Rio property. What a perfect weekend! The location was amazing, the price, the place itself, and the ability to get away from it all! This is truly god's country and it is so great to have been here! I stayed here for 3 days with my best friends and it could not have been more perfect. First the house is immaculate, tasteful and clean. Second, the host is not only the nicest guy but an excellent tour guide. We came up last minute and from Yosemite to the Giant Sequoias to the best local hikes he patiently explained where everything was, how to get there and what were the best places to go to see what we had come looking for. He also clued us in to the best spots to eat at. I will be back here again and again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

I’ve traveled the world and this is one of my favorite places to relax, go for walks, play in the river, and enjoy the lovely views. The rooms are artistically appointed and the entire experience has been inspiring. We had a terrific time. Only problem was that our stay was too short. Casa Rio worked out perfectly for us. The dogs had a blast. Our old dog, Kiera, 12 years old, acted like a puppy. The fishing was not great, but that probably had more to do with the fishermen than anything (maybe wrong location, wrong bait, and/or wrong time of day). We just enjoyed being together and relaxing in such a picturesque setting. We would love to return before the summer is over.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Excellent house, very clean, comfortable and quiet area! Great base for exploring Yosemite if you don't mind driving a little! I took my young family to spend time away from the city and enjoy Valentine's in a special way. We all had a great time at the home - it was clean, very comfortable, and it really felt like using our own home!! The kitchen and living room combination was ideal because we love to cook and we were able to watch what the kids were doing inside the living room or outside on the deck. The location was convenient - you can't miss the house from the highway but it was surprisingly quiet once you get to the house all you can hear is the river running! It was truly a magical time for me and my family, thank you for letting us experience it with your home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I love the outdoors and everything it has to offer! I have been exploring the area the last several years with my Border Collies and have enjoyed everything inside AND outside the park. I can make suggestions on places to visit depending on your interest around the area just let us know!
Why the Owner Chose Oakhurst:
The location of the home is within driving distance to the town of Oakhurst & the South Entrance to Yosemite National Park. It's also one of the few home properties that have direct access Highway 41 so it's easy to get in and out of the home. One unique feature of the home is (and probably least known) is that our acreage includes the river itself which means that 20 feet across the river still belongs to us. The river cannot be trespassed because it's what I consider a "private river"
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
One of the great benefits of the home is the constant sound of the river. It is absolute peace because I can have the music or have as much noise as possible and not hear anyone else around us or vice versa. There are plenty of places to hike around the property whether it be along the river or by the hill side. The Great Room is probably the best place in the home because you just get a little piece of everything from the view of the river from the living area to the scenic views of Deadwood Mountain from the dining area and kitchen while being around everyone else.
