This is the best location in Placencia! It sits on the southern tip of the Placencia peninsula and is surrounded by water on three sides. The 2 bedroom 2 bath condo can sleep up to 8 people. Each room opens to a covered private outside porch through French doors.
The condo includes a shared swimming pool, hot tub, and thatched roof viewing dock on the Caribbean for your enjoyment. There is a caretaker on site to assist you, and a fishing/tour guide is available. The unit is just blocks from the center of Placencia Village which features restaurants, beach bars, and entertainment.
Belize is often referred to as one of the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World. The world's second largest barrier reef runs parallel to its coast. However, the barrier reef is not the only factor that makes Belize one of the world's most popular destinations for scuba divers and snorkelers.
Many of the small islands, known as 'cayes,' that lie off the coast of the Belizean mainland have their own coral reefs, with spectacular underwater gardens teeming with sea life of all types.
The clear turquoise waters (which average 79-84 degrees) and the proximity of the barrier reef make Belize a favorite destination for divers and snorkelers. The ocean floor ranges from 5 to 35 feet, so both divers and snorkelers have the opportunity to swim in what seems like an underwater aquarium, teeming with colorful tropical fish of all sizes and types and beautiful coral formations.
The 'cut' (channel) leading out to sea functions as a sort of 'fish freeway' for many large fish, including giant groupers, barracuda and nurse sharks, a timid and unaggressive shark species. Divers and snorkelers may enjoy a close encounter with a sea turtle.
Fishing in Belize
Belize is a mecca for those interested in fishing. All kinds of fishing: spin, fly, trolling - can be experienced all year long, and the abundance of game fish guarantees excellent sport.
The estuaries, inlets and mouths to the many rivers are known for their tarpon, snook and jacks. The lagoons and grass flats are known for the bonefish, permit and barracuda. The coral reefs support grouper, snapper, jacks and barracuda while the deeper waters off the drop off are home to sailfish, marlin, bonito and pompano.
Fishing is great all along the coast of Belize. Any of the many rivers which empty into the Caribbean along Belize's coasts can guarantee a daily catch. Most of your guides and boatmen speak English so learning where and what to fish will be no problem.
The waters surrounding Placencia abound with a great variety of saltwater fishing and the area boasts some of the best fishing guides in the country. Most types of fish, including bone fish and tarpon, can be caught year-round. Within 15 minutes of leaving the dock, you can be fishing in tidal flats or in blue water hundreds of feet deep.

We were very happy with our accomodations at the Sunset Point Condos. Everything look just as it did on the website to our relief. Roomy and very confortable like a home away from home. The grounds were kept immaculate. The setting is just picture postcard perfect. The groundskeeper was a great asset to our vacation, always willing to help in any way and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy Placencia. This place is truly a gem.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed Placencia, and Sunset Pointe, as much as we do. You are right...a true gem it is!

We enjoyed our three days at the condo. It was nicely furnished and had everything we needed. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the beautiful sunsets. One night we had an interesting thunder and lightning display. Favorite restaurants were Rum Fish and Purple Space Monkey. Paradise Resort is an easy walk for a casual waterfront meal. Went on a nice all day tour with Francisco - Banana Plant, Mayan Ruins, lunch, and waterfall. We didn't rent transportation, but would rent a golf cart if doing it again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the positive comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay. There are so many great tours and sites to see in Belize!

The location is perfect. at the very end of the point so when you are in the middle of the living room in the condo you can look out the french doors to your right and see the lagoon, look out the french doors to your left and see the ocean - and not just a slice, magnificent views. and there are large decks on both sides to relax and enjoy. the unit itself is very nice and very comfortable. as far as i could see it was THE nicest condo on this side of town. on top of that, we are walking/biking distance to everything but far enough away to be away from the noise. francisco, the caretaker, is wonderful and will help in any way he can. placencia itself is a quiet, third world, town, poor but the people are happy and very friendly. loved the town and never wanted to leave. there are many ex pats (us, canada, united kingdom, etc) - we want to be one of them! had a car for one day to drive the entire peninsula - glad we did. the more expensive hotels and high end homes are out that way (it's only 16 miles total so not far) but i liked staying walking distance to town. we fished, dove, snorkeled, did stand up paddle boarding, toured monkey river, and relaxed, relaxed, relaxed. best food was at maya beach bistro up the peninsula, best food in town was rumfish. fun places to eat - de tatch, barefoot, tipsy tuna, to name a few. also recommend you walk the sidewalk which was the original street before they build the main road which is called the back road - it was just paved a couple of years ago. We will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much! It was great having you!

We really enjoyed our week at this house. The furniture, beds etc were all excellent any very clean. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we could have wanted. The views and decks offer water views on both sides. We took full advantage of the roof top deck and the pier for sunsets. It would have been nice to have lounge chairs on the decks and more seating inside. We were 4 adults and found seating a bit challenging when we just wanted to hang out in this wonderful home. Oh, bring toilet paper, they dont seem to replenish! This is a great rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this condo/townhome (2 Couples) and had a fabulous time. The accommodations were very nice and would highly recommend it. Compared to the other vacation spots around this was by far the best kept and was convenient to get to the main town as well. The people of Belize were as friendly as could be and our “Guide” Arthur really made sure we enjoyed the country when we wanted to explore. Will be back to enjoy it again soon.Did you find this review helpful?
