The previous reviewers have been so eloquent in their comments regarding this home that it is difficult to find anything to add. Taken together, and including the owner’s profile, all that we can say is that each has erred on the side of understating just how exceptional this property truly is. We can also state categorically that the pictures do not do this property justice either. Upon arrival, we strongly suggest that you leave your luggage in your vehicle. Once you open the door, the view will overwhelm you. You will drop whatever is in your hands and be drawn across the great room to the windows to take it all in. The interior of the home is extremely comfortable and very tastefully furnished. There are multiple locations where everyone can gather together comfortably while preserving those quiet spaces where one can curl up with a book or a craft. While the gas grill is large and very conveniently located, if you really enjoy the subtle flavors possible with grilled food, don’t miss the opportunity to experience a meal (or two or three) prepared over the open fire. Finally, it is important to add a word about the owners. They were delightful to work with and were most responsive to our needs before, during and after our stay. We are especially grateful that they welcome pets. Having our dog with us on vacation made the week all the more special. Circumstances will prevent us from making a return trip for several years but we definitely plan to return to this location and to this home in the future.

We just spent a week (June 2011) in this lake house and from the moment i stepped foot inside, all i could say was WOW!!! The house itself is beautiful... It was very clean and tidy, well equipped with everything you need and so much more! The place is spacious, lovely decorations... I love the wall color's in each room and all the little finishing touches that made it feel, just like home! Now, to the views outside.... breathtaking doesn't do it justice! My favorite thing to do in the morning, was sit outside and have coffee, listen to the loons and just look out over the lake! My husband's favorite thing was taking one of the many canoes/kayaks out on to the lake and fishing... he was in his element! We are a military family... United States Air Force, currently stationed overseas in Germany and we came back to Maine to spend time with the family... and just staying at this lake house, made it all the more special for us... there was plenty of space to have the family with us and then we also had our time for a little romance as well! This is by far the best property we have ever stayed in, whilst visiting Maine... and we only hope we can return in the near future and stay here again! We highly recommend this property!!!! Thank you Kim & Joe... You made us feel very welcome and the property manager does an awesome job of keeping the place nice as well! Regan's Retreat.... We are going to miss you and will always treasure the memories we made here!

I am a Bangor, Maine native, now living in Washington, DC. We get back to Maine to see family for a few weeks in August each summer. We've rented on Beech Hill for the past 7 years and love the clean water and how quiet the area is. Some lakes in Maine are very busy with boats, jet skis, etc... Beech Hill is not one of those. Now, to this beautiful home... having been renters for so many summers, we have seen and been to several places on Beech Hill. This is by far the best place we have ever rented. From the moment you step into this great home you are in awe. Our mouths were open as we walked into the open living/dining/kitchen area and saw that great view. The high ceilings and large windows are perfect. One thing you can't see from this website is just how high end all the fixtures, decorating, and other small touches are in person. We even went as far as to seek out the name of the paint color in one room so we could replicate it at our home! Interior is amazing; but the outside is equally impressive. We have a 6 year old and loved the front, back and side lawns. Having family and friends visit all week, we had badmitton in one area and croquet in another set up. The fire pit was used every night, and we loved that the owners had so much dry, quality wood on hand for us to use. Not the case we've encountered elsewhere. The kyaks and canoe and pedal boat were a great bonus. The area the house is located in is very quiet. No barking dogs, no noisy neighbors, just loons talking. But, only about 15 minutes (almost all paved roads) to the local store. It is a very very nice house. I would highly recommend it. It is a great bargain for a high end place to stay. PS: The family room downstairs is great -- especially with kids. My son watched his movies down there and played video games (all included here!) at night. We've already made our reservations for next year! Thank you for opening your home to us!
