Trinity Alps Wilderness, Trinity Center... An enchanting tranquility surrounds this Non-Smoking, vacation home where the Trinity Alps meet Coffee Creek. The Coffee Creek Chalet offers you the peacefulness of nature with modern living convenience. If you want to get-away from the telephone, TV news, and the normal fast-paced habits of city life, to unwind, reflect, and have time to be more in tune with nature, then we know you will fall in love with this beautiful property.

You can catch trout in Coffee Creek in front of the Chalet, or in the nearby Trinity River. Plenty of salmon, large- and small-mouth bass, and even some German brown trout await you in Trinity Lake - just a mile south of us. Nearby are trail heads to dozens of alpine lakes in the unspoiled Trinity Alps Wilderness.

A beautiful 45-minute ride will take you into Weaverville, a historic town from the California Gold Rush Era. There you will find a museum, several galleries and artisan's shops. The theater on Main street offers current movies. If you drive two hours north from here into Oregon you can visit the famous Shakespeare Theater in Ashland.

Of course, you can always relax in the hammock in the trees, play croquet on the lawn next to Coffee Creek, or even enjoy a game of horse shoes. You'll find hundreds of books to read and many puzzles to noodle over.

Why the Owner Chose Coffee Creek

The Trinity Alps Wilderness is considered one of the last pristine wilderness areas in the US. We own three acres--the Chalet on half and our residence on the other half. Owning both places allows us to be away from traffic and able to enjoy the clean water and fresh air. Although it is a 45-minute drive to Weaverville for major shopping, the drive is beautiful. The Country Store in Coffee Creek stocks the basics and is just a mile from us.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Most people find that after a day or two they begin to slow down to the pace of true vacation living. But the slower they go the more they enjoy the trees, rivers, and hiking trails. We call it vacation mode!

Owner's Map of Coffee Creek

We have lived here in Coffee Creek for the past 23 years and have enjoyed getting to know many travelers who vacation here. DeeDee is the property boss and keeps the Chalet and surround acreage looking like a well cared for national park. In her spare time she supports the local fire district with embroidery and knitting. Robert helps her with the property maintenance. He is a business consultant and finds himself on airplanes a bit too often. We enjoy friendly people and leave those who prefer privacy to have their space.

We truly enjoyed our one week stay at the wonderful Coffee Creek Chalet. Let's see, what did we do: swimming in Trinity Lake, rafting on the lower Trinity river, renting a "cruiser deck boat" to explore Trinity Lake and tow our nine-year son on a "floater". Then back to the Chalet--so spacious, clean, and well-equipped--where we relaxed with a good book, croquet and horsesshoe toss at the creekside lawns. Hiking to Boulder Lakes was a great adventure. It just doesn't get any better. Thanks again for your hospitality.

"We can't thank kyou enough for the wonderful hospitality. The Chalet is great and your property is just gorgeous. We hope so very much to make it back--hopefully for a longer visit! We knew the Chalet was a hit when the boys (4.5 & 7) unpacked and put their clothes away. They never do that at home. Ha! Thank you again for everything. So nice to meet you. All the best"

"We can't every begin to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at the Chalet. From the excellent weather to the cozy cabin itself, the rushing creek to the rousing game of horseshoes (in which the girls quickly learned they were out of their league against Dave), we've loved it all. And the star gazing was to die for. Thanks so much for letting us partake in this bliss!

" Our vacation in your Chalet was beiyond words. The cabin is exquisite by itself, but the fact that it is right in the middle of the most beautiful places on earth throws it over the top. We enjoyed waking every morning to fish, hiking to Lake Stoddard (our favorite alpine lake), Tangle Blue and Lake Eleanor. Alpen Cellars winery is a must see. The wine is fantastic. Tip: The stars you see from the lawn at night are unlike any other. You can clearly see the MIlky Way! Hopefully we'll be back soon to stay in this home-away from home.

"Such a lovely and peaceful place. We enjoyed a great hike to Deadfall Lakes and made it back to the just in time before the 1st real rain of the season! I enjoyed celebrating my 50th birthday, yes 50th, out here in the Trinities--which has always been a special place for me. This weekend culminated a week long celebration with my family & friends. Wow. First 50 down another to go! It just keeps getting better."
