Diamond in the woods

We truly enjoyed our one week stay at the wonderful Coffee Creek Chalet. Let's see, what did we do: swimming in Trinity Lake, rafting on the lower Trinity river, renting a "cruiser deck boat" to explore Trinity Lake and tow our nine-year son on a "floater". Then back to the Chalet--so spacious, clean, and well-equipped--where we relaxed with a good book, croquet and horsesshoe toss at the creekside lawns. Hiking to Boulder Lakes was a great adventure. It just doesn't get any better. Thanks again for your hospitality.

BBQing on the deck, chasing the kids on the lawn (3 & 9)Swimming in the rock tailings of Trinity Lake. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail and lots of good food. Thanks for a wonderful week at the Chalet, DeeDee and Robert; Thanks for everything. We will always cherish our week here & come back both in our hearts often and hopefully again next year. Thank you for the great stay--it was just what I needed for my early winter getaway. I hope to get back up again during the summer months and see more.

"Such a lovely and peaceful place. We enjoyed a great hike to Deadfall Lakes and made it back to the just in time before the 1st real rain of the season! I enjoyed celebrating my 50th birthday, yes 50th, out here in the Trinities--which has always been a special place for me. This weekend culminated a week long celebration with my family & friends. Wow. First 50 down another to go! It just keeps getting better."

" Our vacation in your Chalet was beiyond words. The cabin is exquisite by itself, but the fact that it is right in the middle of the most beautiful places on earth throws it over the top. We enjoyed waking every morning to fish, hiking to Lake Stoddard (our favorite alpine lake), Tangle Blue and Lake Eleanor. Alpen Cellars winery is a must see. The wine is fantastic. Tip: The stars you see from the lawn at night are unlike any other. You can clearly see the MIlky Way! Hopefully we'll be back soon to stay in this home-away from home.

"We can't every begin to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at the Chalet. From the excellent weather to the cozy cabin itself, the rushing creek to the rousing game of horseshoes (in which the girls quickly learned they were out of their league against Dave), we've loved it all. And the star gazing was to die for. Thanks so much for letting us partake in this bliss!

"We can't thank kyou enough for the wonderful hospitality. The Chalet is great and your property is just gorgeous. We hope so very much to make it back--hopefully for a longer visit! We knew the Chalet was a hit when the boys (4.5 & 7) unpacked and put their clothes away. They never do that at home. Ha! Thank you again for everything. So nice to meet you. All the best"

“What a relaxing and restful time we had in this gorgeous place that God has created and you two have embellished! We had Trinity Lake almost to ourselves both days and the fishing was great. We will be back. Thank you for the hospitality and warmth of your lovely Coffee Creek Chalet. It was great meeting you both.”

Coming Home

“One of us sat and “watched the trees grow”, while the other became a presence in the creek with the water running over, around, and thru. As our needs were simple so were our pleasures. We leave for Oakland rested, peaceful, and mindful where home truly is—here connected to the beauty of natures gifts.”

Memorable experience

Guest: Rachel, Danny, and Noah Malmon
Date of Stay: 08/09/09 Review Submitted: 02/01/10

“We had a great week at the Coffee Creek Chalet! We had an excellent time relaxing in the hammock, swimming and fishing the creek, and hiking in the Trinity Alps. Noah (19 months) will remember lazing and rocking in the Lazy Boy rocking chairs and the kids at the Coffee Creek school playground. Danny really appreciated the fly rod loaner and fishing tips from Robert, and Rachel will miss the tall trees and tranquility of your oasis in the woods. Thanks for a memorable & relaxing holiday!"

Relax and Renew

Date of Stay: 08/09/09 Review Submitted: 02/01/10

“We very much enjoyed our stay at this peaceful, scenic place. The Chalet was clean, tidy, and very comfortable—and your lovely landscaping has created an oasis. We enjoyed hikes to Boulder Lakes and Lake Stoddard. It would be wonderful to explore the Trinity Alps Wilderness trails much more extensively. Our son and his girlfriend, outdoorsy San Francisco residents, enjoyed the area immensely too. This was a wonderful “get away” to spend time together in the type of environment we love.”

“Thank you for the use of your wonderful cabin in the woods! Swimming in the creek, the river and the lake was fabulous. The hike up to Boulder Lakes is a nice, easy hike with spectacular views. We had so many nice adventures and plenty of relaxing, do nothing time, plus an excellent horseshoe tournament! Thanks again for such a lovely setting to make it all happen.”
